Best Upgrade for Your Truck

This is Weather Guard's own brand film about outfitting a working pickup, built on the idea that the truck should already be loaded and organized before the day starts. It puts the bed and rail equipment in the context of a real work day rather than a spec sheet. Watch it if you are still deciding how much storage a truck actually needs. It is the clearest short look at how Weather Guard boxes, racks and drawer units are meant to work together on one vehicle, and it comes straight from the manufacturer rather than a reseller.

Weather Guard Defender Series Truck Rack Install

Weather Guard's Defender Series install video shows the lightweight aluminum truck rack going onto a pickup with no drilling required. You see the compression clamps grip the bed rails and the crossbars set up to carry ladders, lumber and pipe, rated to about 800 pounds. It makes clear how quickly the rack mounts and how the ladder stops keep a load in place. It is a helpful look at the rack in place before you buy or install your own.

Weather Guard Headache Rack Install Guide

Weather Guard's step-by-step guide covers mounting a headache rack, also called a cab protector, behind the cab. You see how the rack bolts up to shield the back window from shifting ladders, lumber and cargo. It walks through the hardware and placement so the rack sits square and solid. Coming straight from the manufacturer, it is the most reliable reference for installing and understanding the rack.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

Does the 1425-3 fit a pickup bed?

No. It is a single-side rack that mounts to the side of a service or utility body, the boxed work-truck body with side compartments. It does not mount to a standard open pickup bed. If you need to carry a ladder over a pickup cab, look at an over-cab rack such as the aluminum TR801-A or a steel truck rack.

How does it make loading a one-person job?

The front post is adjustable and swivels, so it rotates out to meet you and guides the ladder into place as you load or unload. That pivot lets a single person handle a ladder that would usually take two.

Which side of the truck does it go on?

You can install it on either the driver or passenger side, whichever suits your workflow. It fits both full-size and mini service bodies.

Do I have to drill to install it?

Yes. This is a drill-mount rack, so plan to drill and bolt it to the body and seal the holes with a corrosion-inhibiting primer to prevent rust. Measure carefully and confirm your mounting points before you drill, and follow the Weather Guard instructions.

How much does it hold?

It is rated for up to 200 pounds, which suits the ladders and long material a service tech carries day to day. Keep the load within that rating and strapped for safe transport.

What is it made of and is it covered by a warranty?

It is built from lightweight aluminum with a brite white ARMOR TUF powder coat that resists corrosion and matches white service bodies, and it is backed by a Weather Guard Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
