Tall vans make ladder loading worse, not better, because the roof sits so high that even a drop-down rack can leave the ladder above your reach. The Weather Guard 2291-3-01 Extended EZGLIDE2 rack solves that for mid-roof and high-roof vans by adding a slide-down stage: after the rack rotates down, the ladder slides an extra 2' lower so it comes within easy reach at the side of a tall Transit, ProMaster, Sprinter, or high-roof NV. It keeps everything that makes EZGLIDE2 the easiest drop-down system Weather Guard builds, smooth rollers on dual hydraulic dampers, interlocking ladder supports, and about 50 percent less effort than a typical rack, then extends the travel so a single tech can still load a 40' extension ladder off a high roof without a fight. Lightweight aluminum with Brite White ARMOR-TUF keeps the roof weight in check on the big vans.

Features
Slide-Down For Tall Roofs
After the rack rotates down, an extra slide-down stage lowers the ladder another 2', closing the gap that a high van roof creates. That extra travel is what lets one person load a long ladder off a mid-roof or high-roof van without overhead lifting.
Built For Mid And High Roof Vans
This is the tall-roof member of the EZGLIDE2 family, sized for mid-roof and high-roof Ford Transit, RAM ProMaster, Mercedes Sprinter, and high-roof Nissan NV vans with the matched Weather Guard channel kit for each.
Easiest Drop-Down Weather Guard Builds
Smooth rollers on dual hydraulic dampers deliver a controlled, roughly 50 percent easier cycle than typical drop-down racks, so the added height of a tall van does not turn loading into a two-person job.
Carries Up To 40' Ladders
Handles extension ladders from 20' to 40', step ladders from 6' to 10', and podium ladders from 3' to 8', with interlocking supports that hold the load steady at highway speed. Confirm your van roof rating before loading heavy ladders.
Single Side, Expandable
Mount it on the driver or passenger side to suit your loading, and add the matching Extended dual drop-down kit later to carry ladders on both sides of the van.
Light Aluminum, Weatherproof
The aluminum frame protects your payload and roof rating on a big van, and the Brite White ARMOR-TUF powder coat with stainless hardware stands up to rain and road salt over the long haul.

Fit guidance: This is the Extended EZGLIDE2 rack with the slide-down stage for tall vans. It requires a Weather Guard mounting channel kit matched to your exact van and roof height, sold separately (for example 2130-0-01 or 2102-0-01 for the Ford Transit, 2115-0-01 for the RAM ProMaster, 2113-0-01 for the Mercedes Sprinter, 2085-0-01 for the high-roof Nissan NV). Loading happens at the side of the van, so leave that side clear. Confirm your van roof load rating before carrying heavy ladders. Low-roof vans should use the full-size EZGLIDE2 rack 2271-3-01.

Install the Weather Guard channel kit for your specific van and roof height first, then bolt the Extended EZGLIDE2 rack to the channels. Cycle both the drop-down rotation and the slide-down stage empty to confirm smooth damper motion and a positive latch before loading. On a high-roof van a stable step or platform helps during setup. Follow the printed Weather Guard instructions for placement and torque.
