When 1,000 pounds is not enough, the Weather Guard 1175-52-02 steps up to a full 1,700 pounds of evenly distributed capacity. This heavy-duty full-size steel truck rack is built for 250 and 2500 series and larger work trucks, using two-inch swaged steel tubing welded with overlapping joints so it can haul stacked ladders, lumber, pipe and long stock over the cab day after day. A welded airfoil trims wind drag, adjustable front legs let one rack fit different bed lengths, and the matte black powder coat shrugs off weather and jobsite wear. It is the same over-bed platform as the 1275, rebuilt heavier for crews that push a rack to its limit.

Features
1,700 lb Heavy-Duty Capacity The 1175 carries up to 1,700 pounds evenly distributed, roughly 700 pounds more than the standard 1,000 lb steel rack. That extra headroom is built for crews stacking multiple extension ladders, bundles of lumber and long conduit on the same run, so the rack keeps working hard under a full load.
Two-Inch Swaged Steel Tubing The frame is formed from two-inch swaged steel tubing welded with overlapping joints, so the tubes nest and reinforce each other at every connection. It is a stiffer, stronger build than a bolt-together rack and it stands up to the flex and vibration of a loaded work truck.
Holds Three Ladders Side By Side The rack is designed to carry up to three ladders side by side over the cab, so a full crew can load their step and extension ladders on one truck. The rear cross member pins pull out in seconds to drop in tall or awkward loads.
Welded Airfoil Cuts Drag A welded airfoil on the front cross member pushes air up and over your load. That trims wind drag and cuts the noise and buffeting you get from an open rack at highway speed, which matters on long hauls between jobs.
Adjustable Legs and Tie-Downs The front legs slide to match your bed length so one rack fits full-size short and long beds, and every leg carries a built-in tie-down loop. Strap long, heavy loads down tight from multiple points and they stay put on the highway and on rough site roads.
Matte Black Steel Build Legs, rails and cross members wear a tough matte black powder coat that resists sun, salt and scrapes. Rear handle bars help you climb on and off the truck, and included protective tape guards your ladders from rubbing against the steel in transit.

Fit guidance: This is the heavy-duty version of Weather Guard's full-size steel truck rack, rated 1,700 lb versus 1,000 lb on the standard 1275. Weather Guard lists it as a universal fit for 250 and 2500 series and larger full-size trucks, so it is aimed at 3/4-ton and 1-ton work trucks, and it also fits 1/2-ton full-size pickups that have standard stake pockets. The front legs adjust to match your bed length. A no-drill installation kit is included for 2016 and newer Chevrolet and GMC trucks, which uses the rear stake pockets. The rack rides over the cab, so check garage, carport and drive-thru clearance before ordering, measure your bed, and keep loads strapped and within the 1,700 lb evenly distributed limit. It is not made for mid-size or compact trucks.

Slide the front legs to match your bed length, apply the protective tape where ladders will rest, then load and strap using the leg tie-down loops. Weather Guard's Defender Series install video shows the lightweight aluminum truck rack going onto a pickup with no drilling required. You see the compression clamps grip the bed rails and the crossbars set up to carry ladders, lumber and pipe, rated to about 800 pounds. It makes clear how quickly the rack mounts and how the ladder stops keep a load in place. It is a helpful look at the rack in place before you buy or install your own.
Weather Guard Headache Rack Install Guide
Weather Guard's step-by-step guide covers mounting a headache rack, also called a cab protector, behind the cab. You see how the rack bolts up to shield the back window from shifting ladders, lumber and cargo. It walks through the hardware and placement so the rack sits square and solid. Coming straight from the manufacturer, it is the most reliable reference for installing and understanding the rack.
Best Upgrade for Your Truck
This is Weather Guard's own brand film about outfitting a working pickup, built on the idea that the truck should already be loaded and organized before the day starts. It puts the bed and rail equipment in the context of a real work day rather than a spec sheet.

Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers on specs, fit and support
How much can the 1175 carry?
It is rated for up to 1,700 pounds evenly distributed, which is about 700 pounds more than the standard 1,000 lb steel rack. Spread heavy loads across the crossbars, strap them at several points, and stay within that limit for safe hauling.
What trucks is it designed for?
Weather Guard lists it as a universal fit for 250 and 2500 series and larger full-size trucks, so it is built for 3/4-ton and 1-ton work trucks and also fits 1/2-ton full-size pickups with standard stake pockets. The front legs adjust to match your bed length. It is not made for mid-size or compact trucks, which use the compact 1345 rack.
Do I have to drill into my truck?
A no-drill installation kit is included for 2016 and newer Chevrolet and GMC trucks, which seats in the rear stake pockets. On other trucks the rack mounts with the included hardware. Follow the Weather Guard instructions for the exact steps for your truck, and re-check the mounts after the first loaded drive.
How many ladders will it hold?
The rack is designed to carry up to three ladders side by side over the cab, so a crew can load several step and extension ladders on one truck. The rear cross member has removable pins so you can pull that bar in seconds to drop in tall or bulky loads, then drop it back in.
Will it be noisy on the highway?
A welded airfoil on the front cross member pushes air up and over your load, which cuts wind drag and reduces the noise and buffeting you get from an open rack at highway speed. That helps on long hauls between jobs.
What is it made of and is it covered by a warranty?
It is built from two-inch swaged steel tubing welded with overlapping joints and finished in a matte black powder coat that resists sun, salt and scrapes. It is backed by a Weather Guard Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Look is great. 100 lbs
Look is great. 100 lbs lighter than my 2nd pick. Lid lock and opening are smooth. Only minor knock I give is the the tie down hooks are hard to install - thinking I should have done them before installing.

A must have
I really like this mat. I was apprehensive at first but, the mat does a great job of keeping things from sliding around without having to secure it. perfect fit. But i think i will be adding some short screws to secure the mat to the DECKED system.

I never knew how much I needed this
As with all BAK covers, the quality is amazing. What I didnt fully appreciate until installing was the ease of opening - especially in a lifted truck. No more need to find the right handhold. Just roll it back with a single hand. Its also great to see out of my rear window when fully open - something you lose with the fold back covers. Customer service is awesome. I has an installation question and the representative stayed on the line as I adjusted an alignment to ensure I did it properly.

Better then expected.
Searched for about 6 months to find the tonneau cover. I really wanted the security of a hard top without sticking above the bed rails it checked those boxes. I also did not want to drill my truck bed. The install was super simple my wife and I had it on the truck in about a half an hour.
