- Gas-spring clamps: Gas-spring assisted clamps swing over and hold the ladder, on the curb side only for the single models and on both sides for the dual models.
- Angled ladder hooks: On the compact 223-3-03 and 224-3-03, the front hooks reach out and angle away so you can load a ladder where space is tight.
- Anti-wear clamps: Padding on the compact racks' clamps keeps a ladder's rails from wearing as the van moves.
- Adjustable sway braces: Sway braces on the compact racks slide to suit the ladder, so changing ladders takes little time.
- Stainless hardware: All five use stainless steel hardware that holds up to rain and road salt.
- Airfoil-ready: The -03 racks accept Weather Guard's 7499 airfoil, sold separately; the 234-3-01 comes with one.
Description & Fitment
The Weather Guard Quick Clamp 234-3-01 is a gutter-mount ladder rack for full-size Chevrolet Express, GMC Savana and Ford E-Series vans, with clamps on both sides. Curved cross members bring the ladder lower for loading, and gas-spring clamps with angled ladder hooks hold it in place. Anti-wear clamps, adjustable sway braces and stainless hardware are included. It weighs 72 lb and comes with an airfoil.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it fit a Transit?
Weather Guard does not recommend it for vans without gutters or side channels. Our fitment list covers the Express, Savana and E-Series.
Will I drill?
Only to fix the included airfoil to its sockets, per Weather Guard's sheet.
Single or dual?
A single model clamps one ladder on the curb side. A dual model adds a second clamp on the street side, so two ladders ride at once.
Do I drill the roof?
The -03 sheets bolt to Weather Guard mounting channels or the gutters with no drilling described. The 234-3-01 sheet drills only to fix the airfoil to its sockets.
Do I need a channel kit?
On channel-roof vans, yes, and it is sold separately. Weather Guard names the kit for each van on the child pages.
How tall a van?
Weather Guard does not recommend the full-size -03 models for vans taller than 84". They are for low-roof vans.

- 234-3-01 also needs a drill with 5/16" and 3/8" bits and thread locker
Here's the short version. Follow Weather Guard's install sheet (below) for the exact positions and hardware.
- Before any drilling, check behind and under each spot for wires, fuel lines and brake lines, and wear eye protection.
- Assemble the airfoil to the front crossmember, build the rack (a Model 233-3-01, if used, goes in now in place of the center supports) and fit the mounting cushions, as drawn.
- Set the stands to the gutter width, lift the rack onto the van with helpers and, on every van except 1996-on Chevy GMT600/GMC Savana, place the stands as close to the roof as possible. Center the crossmembers between the stands before tightening the crossmember/socket bolts.
- Drill and fasten the airfoil to the sockets as shown.
- Loosely fit the top adjustable clamp to the front and rear assemblies, set your ladder on the rack, move the clamps to catch the nearest rung, then tighten.

Weather Guard backs this rack with its Limited Lifetime Warranty, issued by Werner Co.: the rack is warranted against defects in material and workmanship for its expected lifetime, counted from the day you buy it.- Only the original purchaser is covered, and coverage ends if the rack passes to a new owner.
- Every claim needs a copy of the original sales receipt, so keep your Prestige Truck order receipt with your records.
- Werner Co. picks the remedy: it repairs the faulty part or replaces the whole rack at no charge for parts or labor, or it may refund what you paid or issue a credit toward a new Weather Guard product.
- Not covered: normal wear and tear, cosmetic rust, scratches, accident damage, repairs Werner Co. did not authorize, misuse, overloading, or a rack that was not mounted or used as Weather Guard's written instructions describe. Damage to what you carry on it or to the vehicle is excluded too.
- Where the law allows, Werner Co. accepts no liability for incidental, special, indirect or consequential damages, economic loss included. This is the only express warranty on Weather Guard products, and no dealer can change it.
- Report a problem promptly once you find it. To start a claim, contact us with your order number and photos of the issue, and we will take it up with Weather Guard for you.

Inspect on delivery
Check both rails, the gas springs and the clamp arms for damage, and count the mounting feet, J-brackets and lock nuts before you start. Check it as soon as it arrives.- Look for crushed ends, punctures or tears in the carton.
- If something looks wrong, take photos of the box and the parts (and if a driver asks you to sign, note the damage on the receipt).
- Open the box and check the parts against the parts list before you install.

Quality ladder rack
Purchased this along with mounting channel to install on 2017 Transit 150 (130” WB). Installation was very easy, all materials are of good quality. We will be ordering cross member in near future as well. (Should have ordered with rack because the rack has to be taken apart for cross brace to go on). Weather guard makes nothing but top quality
