- Built for service bodies: Weather Guard designed the 1225 to sit on a full-size service or utility body, the work-truck bodies with side compartments, not on a pickup bed.
- Complete rack kit: You get legs, side rails and cross members in one kit, so there is nothing else to buy to build the rack.
- 1,000 lb capacity: Weather Guard rates the rack at 1,000 lb, enough for ladders, conduit and pipe on a working truck.
- Tie-down brackets: Tie-down brackets bolt on along the rack where your load needs them.

The 1225 is Weather Guard's steel rack for full-size service bodies, finished in black ARMOR TUF powder coat and rated for 1,000 lb. The kit measures 133.5" L x 72" W x 30" H and weighs 258 lb, and you trim the legs and cross members to suit your body so the rack clears the cab by at least 2".

Our fitment list carries the full-size cab-chassis trucks that take these bodies: Ram 1500, 1500 Classic, 2500 and 3500; Ford F-150 (Lightning included) and F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty; Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2500 HD and 3500 HD; GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD and 3500 HD. Measure the spacing between the leg supports; the cross members run up to 72".

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it fit an F-350 with a service body?
The F-350 Super Duty is on our fitment list. What matters is the body: this rack is built for full-size service bodies, and you cut it to suit yours.
What if my body is narrower?
Weather Guard's sheet expects cutting: the cross members are cut to the leg-support spacing, 72" at most.
Do I have to drill?
Yes. Weather Guard's sheet bolts the leg brackets to the service body through drilled holes (7/32" opened to 7/16") and drills 3/8" for the rear cross-member pins. Seal the holes with E-6000 and touch them up against rust, and do not drill into the cab.
Will it fit my body?
Weather Guard says it fits full-size service bodies. Bodies vary, so the sheet expects you may need to cut the legs and cross members; the cross member length equals the spacing between leg supports, up to 72".
How high does it sit?
You cut the legs so the rack clears the cab by at least 2", per Weather Guard's sheet.
Does it work on a pickup bed?
No. The 1225 is built for service bodies. For a pickup bed, see Weather Guard's steel truck racks such as the 1275-52-02.

Here's the short version. Follow Weather Guard's install sheet (below) for the exact positions and hardware.
- Beds and boxes vary: the cross members and legs may need cutting; cross member length is the leg-support center spacing, 72" max.
- Rear supports (option 1): set a lower bracket at the top of the rear panel inside the service body, mark the four obround holes and the lines below them, drill 7/32" and re-drill to 7/16".
- Cut the legs so the rack sits at least 2" above the cab (rear legs 3-7/8" shorter if option 2 was used), and place the front leg supports to match the rear.
- Seat the rear cross member in its sockets, center it, mark and drill 3/8", fit the black plugs and the snapper pins.
- Seal around drilled holes in the service body with E-6000 before assembly and touch up holes against rust. Take care not to drill into the cab.

Weather Guard backs this rack with its Limited Lifetime Warranty, issued by Werner Co.: the rack is warranted against defects in material and workmanship for its expected lifetime, counted from the day you buy it.- Only the original purchaser is covered, and coverage ends if the rack passes to a new owner.
- Every claim needs a copy of the original sales receipt, so keep your Prestige Truck order receipt with your records.
- Werner Co. picks the remedy: it repairs the faulty part or replaces the whole rack at no charge for parts or labor, or it may refund what you paid or issue a credit toward a new Weather Guard product.
- Not covered: normal wear and tear, cosmetic rust, scratches, accident damage, repairs Werner Co. did not authorize, misuse, overloading, or a rack that was not mounted or used as Weather Guard's written instructions describe. Damage to what you carry on it or to the vehicle is excluded too.
- Where the law allows, Werner Co. accepts no liability for incidental, special, indirect or consequential damages, economic loss included. This is the only express warranty on Weather Guard products, and no dealer can change it.
- Report a problem promptly once you find it. To start a claim, contact us with your order number and photos of the issue, and we will take it up with Weather Guard for you.

Inspect on delivery
Count the legs, side rails, cross members and leg brackets against the parts list and check the black finish for chips before you cut or drill anything. Check it as soon as it arrives.- Look for crushed ends, punctures or tears in the carton.
- If something looks wrong, take photos of the box and the parts (and if a driver asks you to sign, note the damage on the receipt).
- Open the box and check the parts against the parts list before you install.
