Best Upgrade for Your Truck

This is Weather Guard's own brand film about outfitting a working pickup, built on the idea that the truck should already be loaded and organized before the day starts. It puts the bed and rail equipment in the context of a real work day rather than a spec sheet. Watch it if you are still deciding how much storage a truck actually needs. It is the clearest short look at how Weather Guard boxes, racks and drawer units are meant to work together on one vehicle, and it comes straight from the manufacturer rather than a reseller.

Weather Guard Defender Series Truck Rack Install

Weather Guard's Defender Series install video shows the lightweight aluminum truck rack going onto a pickup with no drilling required. You see the compression clamps grip the bed rails and the crossbars set up to carry ladders, lumber and pipe, rated to about 800 pounds. It makes clear how quickly the rack mounts and how the ladder stops keep a load in place. It is a helpful look at the rack in place before you buy or install your own.

Weather Guard Headache Rack Install Guide

Weather Guard's step-by-step guide covers mounting a headache rack, also called a cab protector, behind the cab. You see how the rack bolts up to shield the back window from shifting ladders, lumber and cargo. It walks through the hardware and placement so the rack sits square and solid. Coming straight from the manufacturer, it is the most reliable reference for installing and understanding the rack.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

What trucks does the WEEKENDER 1450 fit?

Weather Guard lists it for 1995 and newer Chevrolet and GMC, Dodge and Ram, Toyota Tundra, and most Ford pickups. It bolts into the side of the truck bed and mounts on the driver or curb side with the included brackets. For other makes and models, confirm the bed-side mounting area before ordering.

Is this a no-drill rack?

No. The WEEKENDER bolts into the side of the truck bed with adjustable tubular steel pockets, so it is a drill-and-bolt install rather than a no-drill clamp rack. Seal any drilled holes with a corrosion-inhibiting primer to prevent rust and follow the Weather Guard instructions.

How much can it carry?

It is rated for up to 250 pounds, which suits the occasional ladder or long material haul the WEEKENDER is built for. Keep the load within that rating, adjust the road bar to fit, and strap it down for transport.

Can I mount it on either side of the truck?

Yes. The included mounting brackets let you install it on the driver side or the curb side, so you can pick the side that fits your loading and parking. It is a single-side rack, so it carries the ladder horizontally along one side of the bed.

Does the rack fit different ladder widths?

Yes. The road bar adjusts across roughly a 19 to 36" range, so it holds narrow step ladders and wider extension ladders snugly. That adjustment keeps the load stable on the road.

What is it made of and is it covered by a warranty?

It is built from 1.5" by 1.5" 14-gauge steel tubing with fully arc-welded joints and a black ARMOR TUF powder coat, and it is backed by a Weather Guard Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
