How much lower is the TonnoSport than other roll-ups?
About an inch. Typical soft roll-up covers finish an inch and a half above the bed rails and this one sits at half an inch. On a truck that is the difference between a cover you notice from across the street and one you do not.
Can I still use my stake pockets?
Yes. The stake pocket holes are left clear when the rails go on, so tie downs and bed accessories that use them keep working. Check the fitting sheet for your truck, since a few bed types position the clamps differently.
How is the cover locked?
Closing it trips the trigger latch, then slide locks fasten the cover to the bed rails from the opposite side. With the tailgate shut and locked the bed is closed off, though a vinyl cover remains a deterrent rather than secure storage.
Is it weather sealed all the way round?
Not in the way the dearer models are. The TonnoSport has a front element seal at the bulkhead, which is where water most often gets in. The tarp itself sheds rain off the top. Expect a soft cover to pass a little moisture in a hard storm.
What happens to the tarp in extreme temperatures?
The tension controller is there for exactly that. Vinyl tightens in the cold and relaxes in the heat, so a turn of the adjuster brings the surface back flat. The anodized aluminum frame underneath is unaffected either way.
Why is the warranty shorter than on other Access covers?
The TonnoSport is the entry point of the roll-up range and carries two years rather than the three or five given to the models above it. Warranty length is how the maker ranks its own covers, so read it as a guide to materials and hardware.
