Which installation kit do I need?
The Three Light frame needs one BackRack installation kit, sold separately. Use the kit table on this page: pick the standard kit for an open bed, a 21" or 31" crossover toolbox kit if you run a toolbox, the low-profile kit to set a toolbox flush with the bed, or a tonneau adapter kit if you have a cover.
Will I have to drill into my truck?
On most late-model trucks the standard and crossover toolbox kits mount with no drilling. The low-profile toolbox kit needs two holes drilled on each side of the bed rail, and trucks without front stake pockets generally need drilling.
Are the lights included?
No. The rack comes with empty light pockets that accept standard oval trailer lights, which you buy and wire separately.
What can the light pockets be used for?
Wired oval lights can serve as extra brake, turn or reverse signals. Local rules on added lighting vary, so check them before you wire.
Does it work with a tonneau cover?
Yes, with a BackRack tonneau adapter kit. Inside-rail kits suit covers that clamp to the inside lip of the bed, top-of-rail kits suit covers that sit on the rail, and some covers are not compatible, so check the kit table for your truck.
Is anything left out of the box?
Yes. Lights, wiring and the mounting hardware are not included. The vehicle-specific brackets and stake pocket bolts come in the separately sold installation kit.
