TriShield Vinyl, No Seams TriShield Vinyl, No Seams

Features

  • Locks Down From Both Sides: Patented rotational locking rails and automatic slam latches hold the closed cover down to resist prying, slicing and forced entry. BAK calls it the most secure roll-up in its class and rates it Level-3, its highest security level.
  • Slash-Resistant Aluminum Slats: Patented interlocking aluminum slats sit under the vinyl, so the top can't simply be cut open. BAK rates the closed cover at 400 lb spread evenly, and with no canister you keep the whole bed.
  • Full Bed Access, Clear View: Roll it to the cab with PrecisionRoll, buckle the two straps and drive with 100% of the bed open, without blocking the rear window or the factory cameras.
  • TriShield Vinyl, No Seams: One-piece aluminum-reinforced TriShield 70-grade vinyl with flush side seals and an integrated bulkhead seal. BAK calls it the most leakproof of all folding, roll-up and retractable covers; BAK's own sheet also notes the cover is not airtight.
  • Sits Nearly Flush: BAK calls it the lowest-profile hard roll-up: it sits nearly flush with the bed rails for a built-in look.
  • Matte Black, Inside and Out: BAK's 360-degree protective finish puts matte black on the aluminum slats, clamps and hardware, and the TriShield 70-grade matte vinyl resists dust and stains so it looks new longer.

Description & Fitment

Here is the BAK Revolver X4s cut for the 2020-2027 Jeep Gladiator, 5' bed. BAK's Gladiator sheet bolts the rails at the bulkhead and into the bed-wall inserts, with some trimming on drop-in liners and untrimmed rail caps. BAK backs the X4s with a 5-year limited warranty.

Check your bed: measure along the bed rail from the bulkhead to the inside of the closed tailgate. This part is for the 5' bed on the 2020-2027 Jeep Gladiator; BAK lists the bed by that label and publishes no inch figure.

Not for: any truck or bed not in the table above.

About BAK Industries

BAK.

BAK makes hard tonneau covers. BAK bills itself as "America's #1 truck bed cover."

The range splits into BAKFlip hard folding covers (MX4, MX4 EZ-Lift, MX4 TS, G2, F1 and Fibermax) and Revolver hard roll-ups (X2, X4s and X4ts). The Revolver X4s is the matte-black step up from the X2, and the X4ts adds T-slot rails.

Authorized BAK dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized BAK dealer, so what we sell is new and genuine BAK. BAK's warranty "is nontransferable and applies to the original purchaser of the BAK product only," and BAK requires warranty registration on file or proof of original purchase (a detailed, dated receipt) for warranty service. Your Prestige Truck order receipt is that proof.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit my 2020-2027 Jeep Gladiator?

Yes, if it has the 5' bed. It fits the 2020-2027 Jeep Gladiator. Measure along the bed rail from the bulkhead to the closed tailgate, check the fit notes above, and if you are unsure, send us your VIN and we will confirm.

Is the install different on my truck?

On the Gladiator the rails bolt to the bulkhead and the threaded inserts in the bed walls; per BAK's sheet, a drop-in liner and untrimmed rail caps need trimming. BAK's sheet for your truck is linked in the Installation section.

What is the difference between the Revolver X4s and the X2?

Same patented aluminum slats, locking rails, slam latches and 400 lb rating. The X4s adds TriShield 70-grade matte vinyl, an all-matte-black finish on the slats, clamps and hardware, and BAK covers it for 5 years instead of the X2's 3.

Will it keep rain and snow out of the bed?

It is built to: one-piece vinyl with no visible seams, flush side seals and a bulkhead seal. BAK calls it the most leakproof of all folding, roll-up and retractable covers, but its own install sheet notes the cover is not airtight, so plan on weather-resistant rather than sealed. Clear snow and ice off before you open it.

How much weight can it hold?

BAK rates the closed cover at 400 lb, evenly distributed. BAK's sheet also says not to drive with objects on top of the cover or tie cargo to it.

Can I drive with it rolled open?

Yes. Roll it fully to the cab and secure it with both straps. BAK says never to drive with the cover partly open, and keeping it secured is a warranty condition.

Installation

Install time Under 1 hour
DifficultyLevel 1simple installation
TypeBolt-on brackets at the bulkhead and bed walldrop-in liners and untrimmed rail caps need trimming
Tools1/2" and 7/16" wrenches or sockets, 1/8" Allen wrench, T-45 Torx wrench, torque wrench, scissors or a knife, a measuring and marking tool and a plastic cutting tool for a drop-in liner

Here's the short version. Follow BAK's Gladiator install sheet (below) for the trim measurements and the A or B bulkhead hardware.

  1. Seal the bulkhead. Wipe the top of the bulkhead with isopropyl alcohol, stick the seal strip along it and trim the ends tight to the bed sides. Trucks with a drop-in bedliner don't need it.
  2. Trim where needed. With a drop-in liner, trim its top corners at the bulkhead and tailgate to the sheet's measurements. If the bed rail caps aren't already trimmed at the tailgate end, cut them along the scribed lines on both sides.
  3. Find your bulkhead holes. Configuration A has an open hole on top and a threaded hole below; B has an open hex-shaped hole on top and an open hole below. On B, set the jack nuts with the supplied installer tool and a 7/16" wrench. With a spray-in liner, clear liner material from the threads.
  4. Mount the rails. Fit the rear M6 screws with a spacer and retainer washer, slide each rail forward onto the well nut guide at the bulkhead and fasten the front bracket for your A or B setup, tightened to 17.5 Nm (12.9 ft-lb). Then thread the rear screws into the bed-wall inserts with the supplied Torx key and tighten them while lifting the rear of the rail.
  5. Set the cover and square it. Rest the cover on the rails at the tailgate, roll it toward the cab and put the cover bolts through the keyed slots. Fit the washers and lock nuts (the rear ones also hold the retainer straps) snug but loose, roll it a few times, line up the front vinyl edge and keep about 1/8" (3.175 mm) on each side.
  6. Tighten by hand. Roll the cover open and tighten the four lock nuts with a 1/2" wrench by hand only, no power tools, then stick the D-shaped bumpers to the underside so the rolled cover stays off the cab.

    • Claims: get a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number from BAK before returning anything. BAK may ask for the part back postage prepaid, and shipping charges apply to a repair or replacement. A claim needs your order number, contact details, vehicle, part number, a description, the receipt and photos.

It's great

I had an OEM soft roll up cover previously on the gladiator but the wind would lift it up in the middle and pull it out from the truck bed. I switched over to the BAK revolver X4s and definitely don't have that problem anymore. It's not 100% water proof but what cover is. I'm super happy with it and hope you would too but at the end of the day it only matters that I like it. When and if I ever need another I'll be back here to get it.

Streamlined protection

As a golfer, I wanted my truck bed to be a secure place to keep things during travel, while reducing my crew cab's overloading. I researched the better tonneau covers, and this Bak Revolver checked a lot of boxes. The installation was easy and the fit and finish was astounding. The profile of the cover is very minimal and streamlined. Thus, travelling at high speeds causes negligible shimmies. The construction is sturdy, reliable, and the vinyl finish is quite durable. That finish will be exposed to desert heat, but some UV protectants will keep all exposed components looking new for years. The five-year warranty also provides some peace of mind.

Functional

Tonneau cover arrived with chips and scratches to the powder coat on the bedrails. Not sure if due to the packaging or build quality. Bedrooms were loose inside the box when opened. And metal chips from machining all over the cover. Cover functions as intended, but kind of disappointed in the quality.

Great cover

Installed on 24 Jeep Gladiator, cover looks good, great quality and easy installation. Cover is sturdy and can easily roll up with one hand. Only downside is it can only be fully rolled or unrolled, you cannot roll it say half way as once it is unlocked it unlocks whole system. I had a trifold before so going to miss that feature, but no big deal.

Repet customer

So I had a Bak rev x4s for my gladiator and now got one for my GMC 2500HD. Quality is amazing and fit is 99% perfect. My only complaint is both covers leaked from the front top corners by the rear window all the time. I have taken extra seals to try to stop the leaks but it's still leaks. With that being said I'm in rainy season in SWFL Overall quality and cover is outstanding

Better than expected result.

But more difficult to install than expected. I installed this on my 2023 RAM with the 6' bed. I really had a difficult time with the mounting clamps. They didn't seem to want to stay in place while I was tightening them. I think the manufacturer could have designed a better clamp for the rails. In the end, it turned out just fine. However, I can see why everyone complains about the plastic tabs on the end of the rails. I am quite sure these will pop off in no time. It seems like an aluminum tab would work better there. I really like the looks of the low profile it provides. It rained on my truck about a week after installing and there was very little water inside. I just wish things these days weren't so expensive!

I never knew how much I needed this

As with all BAK covers, the quality is amazing. What I didnt fully appreciate until installing was the ease of opening - especially in a lifted truck. No more need to find the right handhold. Just roll it back with a single hand. Its also great to see out of my rear window when fully open - something you lose with the fold back covers. Customer service is awesome. I has an installation question and the representative stayed on the line as I adjusted an alignment to ensure I did it properly.

BAK Revolver X4S - 2023 Silverado Std Bed LTZ

Bought this cover after reading reviews and comparing it to others. I wanted rolling AND locking. It is more expensive than the Velcro-based rolling covers but worth every dollar IMO. I used a top-rated Velcro rolling cover for the last three years on another truck and this is far superior. I had ordered and was able to put it on the same day I took delivery of the 2023 Silverado LTZ I had ordered last year. The Revolver is unique in that the rolling aluminum slots forming the cover, latch into the side rails effectively making a locked bed with the tailgate up. Once the tailgate is closed it is as good as a locked trunk on a car. Took about an hour to install. The instructions were great. Basic ratchet and socket plus a wrench were all that was needed. Take your time aligning it to just hang over lip of tailgate. While the instructions recommend two people to lift the rolled-up cover…

Great hard rolling cover that looks amazing, if you can get past the cost

I had a BakFlip hard folding cover on my previous truck for almost 7 years and for the most part it was amazing and held up really well. One on my minor complaints was that as it aged the panels got water logged and heavy which made folding it open and closed from just one side a little cumbersome. I upgraded to a new truck recently and decided to look for other options that would be lighter and easier to open and close. I love having a hard cover. It makes me feel a little better about leaving stuff locked in the bed. My family is also into camping and I will load the bed and then throw a car top carrier on top of the hard cover. My criteria for finding a new cover was that it had to be a hard cover, needed to leave the stake pockets open for the addition of a rack to haul kayaks and canoes, be decently water tight, easy to open and close, and look good on the truck. The BAK Revolver…

Great cover but has a small annoyance

I love the look. The quality of the product is good. The powder coated aluminum frames makes a big difference in the look of quality. The logo sticker came off before I finished the instal. One side of my Instal is about 1/16 higher than the other side of the tailgate. During a wash and rain storm just the smallest amount of water dripped in from tailgate. I was would say due to the step of my Ford tailgate. The one grip I have is that when the cut the powder coated frames they left them shiny and you can tell.

Thought this was the answer to all of my problems, I was wrong.

I need a cover which can conceal and secure cargo out of sight, while maintaining the full 5’ 2” length of my bed for dirtbikes. This cover does neither (for the Tacoma). First, the cover can easily be lifted at the tailgate and a finger can reach in to unlock the roll… and I mean easy. Plus, the roll takes up a lot of space near the cab such that a motorcycle (or anything that exceeds the bed height) definitely cannot fit. To add to this, the caps at the tailgate section of the bed came broken on mine AND there were a lot off manufacturing artifacts on all of the aluminum. I feel this was a bit misrepresented and I’ll be sending mine back if possible. IMO this is only for people who want to VISUALLY hide their small cargo but not worth it for people who want something that stands up to any job.

Great Tonneau Cover

Let me start off by saying I am cheap :). Had resisted buy a Tonneau Cover for my truck for some time. Thought to my self way to costly for what it dose. I was wrong! I now can put items in the bed and not worried about them walking off or getting rained on. Just the peace of mind is worth the cost. The locking mechanism on the X4s is really cool. Every slat on the roll locks not just the ends at the gate so would take great effort to brake into this. I would say X4s is not completely water proof some still gets in at the edges by the cab but it is very minor and I think there is some ways for me to lesson it even more just haven't taken the time to see. I love the look of the X4s installation was extremely simple I has this on in less then an hour by myself. When rolled up it doesn't take much room from the bed and back windows unobstructed are unobstructed. I felt that was a big deal…

Won't buy anything else!

This is the 3rd of these I have had (one for each of the last 3 trucks I have owned). Pricey, but worth it. Keeps my stuff secure and dry almost 100%. Love the rolling action of it so I can still fit whatever I need to in the truck. Install is a bit tricky but worth it.

Exactly what I was looking for.

I wanted to replace my soft tonneau cover with something more secure. I looked at several flip back but was concerned about the amount of water leakage so I decided to go with a hard rollup cover and the BAK X4s seemed like the best option. The cover was fairly easy to install by myself, although it would be easier with a second set of hands. The cover fit the truck bed perfectly and it looks muck cleaner than the old soft cover. Rolling it up is easy and you don't have to worry about it getting misaligned when you roll it back. While it is not completely watertight the amount of leakage is minimal through the carwash and with a bed mat in place the water drains under the mat. Overall I am very happy with ths X4s.

Piece if cake

Using video for instructions was a breeze. I'm disappointed mine did not come with the T channel. It looks like an excellent way to add accessories. Having a flat area to install and to open and close would be the best in terms of keeping the top plumb rolling it back out. One other thing! If you're in an accident don't expect to get your money back. Insurance company would say in not part of specified equipment. Hence accessories not not cover on insurance policies, unless as add on's!

Ehh

Not the quality it should be for over a thousand dollars. Doesn’t fit correctly rough cut unfinished edges. . plastic pieces broke 2 times already. . I would not buy it again. My last truck I had the folding cover, which was much better. I decided to try the rollup, but never again.

Excellent fit and easy install. The cover keeps the bed of the truck dry, even when washing the truck with a good amount of water pressure. Rolls up easily and tight, no blocking the rear window at all.

Best hard roll up cover

Great cover! Super flush and rolls up on top of the rails for full bed access. Easy to install! This is my second cover, first one was on my 2019 Silverado this cover was displayed on at sema 2019 and I fell in love with it! Cant beat the 5 year warranty either!

Bak Revolver X4s

First the packaging for the cover was greatly reinforced when delivered and all the partrs needed for installation were in the box thankfully. I planned to do theinstall mysself and noticed since i have the Sierra carbon pro bed that the clamps to hold down rails were not part of the installment. instead there were notched holes in bed where metal clamps provided would fit and I would need to drill hles through the plastic cover to lockin the rails. This took a bit longer than expected but not too hard as I used a Youtube reel to help figure out the process. Also provided was a metal insert to help guide where the holes should be drilled to accuratley add screws to lockdown the rails. Note before before tightening all screw toward the bed add the nylon strap to hold the cover in place if leaving rolled up. This was one mistake I made as the screw are angled different once tightened…

Best Damn Tonneau Cover

Let’s talk about shipping first. I ordered this product on a Thursday evening and received it Monday afternoon. Quick turn around if you ask me. Now for the cover, super nice and easy to install. I installed it on a Dodge Ram 2500 and it looks great. It sits evenly with the top of the bed sides so it’s hard to tell that it’s on there. I own an industrial maintenance company so everything I get has to be heavy duty. With that being said, I would definitely recommend this cover. It not only looks great, it is top of the line and very solid. Easy to open and close by yourself. And to be honest, it could easily be installed by one person. I’ll add a few photos so you can see what it looks like in real life.

Three years strong

I bought the X4S when I bought my truck. They did the install, so I don’t know how hard that was. However, after three years the cover still works perfectly and looks great. I would definitely buy another. The only issue is that it has to be all the way open or all the way closed. There is no way to stop it somewhere in the middle. That hasn’t been a real problem though.

Great concept, poor design, high priced for poor quality

I’m disappointed in this product. The quality of the bedcover doesn’t justify the price. The concept of a recessed rollup seamless bedcover is great, but this product falls short. The rubber gaskets at wavy and the bedcover does not fit properly in the tracks. Even though I added shims between the side rail brackets and the bed rail just to make the bedcover fit into the track, it still isn’t perfect. It was also difficult adjusting the side rail brackets to allow the tailgate to close.

Sleek and solid cover

Bought this cover after watching numerous reviews on YouTube. Its super easy to roll, very low profile, and mostly waterproof. There is some water that gets in near the tailgate during heavy rain, but not bad at all. Was able to install it by myself, instructions were not difficult at all. Did have one issue where after a week one of the caps near the tailgate went missing, but their support was very friendly and quickly rectified the situation.

Roll back cover.

Its a overall great cover instructions are horrible honestly. Just a matter of figuring out if the tailgate should bump against the end of the cover or if it should set on top. It looks great overall but fit is a little wonky in my opinion. It's possible that ford doesn't have the tightest of manufacturing specs though. If you take your time you can make it fit better using some small spacers between bed rail and cover Chanel.

Took about a half hour to install. Straight forward instructions. Looks great. Almost 0 leaks. I get a few drops around the tailgate. Very easy to roll up. Stays put when you strap it in that position. I got an open box deal so I was super happy. Quick shipping and it looked like it had never been used!

1) Rear corner end caps

1) Rear corner end caps for aftermarket / consumer product should be same as OE version ( Ford ). They are prone to popping off and requiring replacement (extra parts are now included with product so it's a known problem) 2) Rough Edges of side rails need to be finished to avoid causing injuries 3) these inexpensive improvements would make a good product an exceptional product and deserve a 6 rating !

Unfinished business

The edges of the rails right next to where the tailgate closes a razor sharp and should have been Deburred and or filed The springs that make the rails unlock are not strong enough so that you have to pull the release cable a couple timesto get them to flip up so you can start rolling the top back.

Added security without loss of bed space

I have a Ram Ltd with RamBox so I did not want to lose any bed space (as you do with most roll-up covers), and I also wanted a greater degree of security than is offered with most "sit on top" covers. This has a fairly robust latching system that engages at the corners of the tailgate and runs the length of the bed down each side. You have to open the tailgate to disengage it. While a determined thief with tools could probably get into it, I'm confident I'm protected from the typical smash and grab. Looks great, and after fiddling with different weather stripping, and a little caulk here and there, even in heavy rain, I don't get more than a few drops that trickle down the sides of the bed walls and at the corners of the tailgate. I don't worry about anything in there getting wet.

It does the job

For the money spent I thought the quality would be better. Deducted a star because the lack of packing material protecting the side rails from getting bent ends which both did. Fixed with pliers. Deducted another star because of a weird hump only on driver side close to cab when closed and I’m not sure what’s causing it but it’s been like that since new.

Very nice hard cover

Love the sleek look, how quick and simple it is to roll/unroll the cover. Only reason its not 5*'s is the water that leaks in around the tailgate. I'm going to have to look for a seal kit to improve that. For the price, that should be included.

King of the roll ups

Unlike a folding cover when this cover is fully open it does not block the view through the rear window which is important when lining up on my 5th wheel camper. One concern was possible contact between the rails and camper pin box. Ive got a Reese Goose Box and have not come close to touching. It is very easy to use and can be operated with one hand.

BAK X4S

Right to the point I rate this product 5 stars only here’s why. 1. Product came in damaged, bent rails, 2 Parts made from plastic come off and I had to use epoxy to repair those items. 3 Even after following the install instructions for alignment still will not fit to the tailgate 1/4 gap with gate is closed. 4. Driver side near cab will not catch the lock rail. If I had to buy this or recommend I wouldn’t and look for a different product. For the price we pay for a quality product this isn’t worth the expense. Sorry I really wanted to like this product, but has been a big disappointment.

Almost a fit for 21 F-150 5.5 bed

Opened the box and this seemed to be pretty nice quality overall. Once I had partially installed I needed to unroll it to access the back end as it was rolled up with the back end inside the roll. Both back corner caps were busted due to the tight roll which a call to customer service had replacements in a couple of days. Most disappointing was the quality of the side rail cutouts. Each one is a T until it gets to the back where it is cut to just the top part of the T so your tailgate can close. The piece seemed cut with a pair of shears and a very sharp line existed on both rails which cut into the plastic on both sides of the tailgate when I attempted to close it the first time. They are kind of hidden under a rubber seal that also gets pushed back by the closing tailgate. Very poor engineering and quality. I had to use a file to smooth these burred cut lines down so they wouldn't…

Revolver X4s for the Honda Ridgeline

Overall, I like the cover a lot! looks good and was easy to install. However, my cover does not open using only one side of the pull - I have to use both hands and release the wire on both sides and the same time. It is advertised as being able to open the release from only one side, I believe. Also, there were two cosmetic issues with the cover out of the box - a light scrape on the powder-coated rail and a small slit/tear on the cover where it rests on the tailgate. If these issues were not a problem, I would give it 4-5 stars easily.

2014 Toyota Tacoma

Having an older truck, we don't get too many options for quality truck bed covers so I was excited when I found this. However, I have 2 major flaws on this that I was expecting when paying such a premium price for this cover. The biggest problem with the design on this truck bed cover for 2014 toyota tacoma, is that there is a clear gap in between the tailgate and the actual cover. So much of a gap that you can reach your hand in and pull the lever to open the truck bed cover when the tailgate is closed. So now I have to try and find something to secure the gap unfortunately. The second problem I have is that the right side on the rolling cover doesn't click in when you push it down like the left side. I have to actually pull the lever on the right side for it to lock into place. If I would have known this from the start I would not have purchased this. However, the quality of the…

Low quality

Had this cover on my truck for a little under a year. The material started peeling off exposing the bare metal and glue that was holding it on, then the metal parts started coming apart likely due to the material peeling. Not happy at all with this product as it didn’t even last a full calendar year, considering how much it cost i thought I was going to get a quality product that would last longer.

Honda Ridgeline cover won't fit

Have been sent 2 covers now and both completely off on size. About a month of trying to get a proper cover but responses are slow and not helpful at this point. It would be great if there was an installer that I could be sent to free of charge since this has become a nightmare. Or some sort of credit since I've personally spent about 10+ hours troubleshooting this garbage. I'm going to start lighting up your social media if this isn't rectified shortly.

Doesn't keep out the rain

Instructions are very clear and easy to follow. First tonneau cover I have used that won't keep the rain out. Solid cover, well made, seals are just not holding up to Michigan weather (rain in September). Alot of money to spend on a tonneau that doesn't repel water. id show pics but do not know how on this review.
