Will this fit my 2020-2027 Gladiator?

Yes, if it has the 5' bed. Measured along the floor, that box is about 60". Measure along the bed rail from the bulkhead to the closed tailgate. If you are unsure, send us your VIN and we will confirm.

How do I check my Gladiator bed length?

Measure along the top of the bed rail from the bulkhead to the inside of the closed tailgate. This version is for the 5' bed, which BAK's own brands list at 60". If your truck's box is a different length, it needs a different part; send us your VIN and we will check.

How is the EZ-Lift different from the standard MX4?

The EZ-Lift adds a spring lift-assist (BAK puts the lift force at 10.5 lb against nearly 30 lb for heavier covers), an extra-large paddle handle that unlatches the cover as you lift, and self-unlatching middle panels with no cable pulls. It keeps the MX4's multi-layer aluminum panels, edge-to-edge seals, 400 lb rating and 5-year warranty, which for the EZ-Lift is issued by BAK.

Will it keep rain and snow out of the bed?

It is built to: edge-to-edge seals and precision-fit clamps close the gap to the bed rails, and drain tubes carry off water that reaches the rails. The install sheet says the cover is not airtight, so plan on weather-resistant rather than sealed.

How much weight can it hold?

BAK rates the closed cover at 400 lb, evenly distributed. BAK's sheet also says not to drive with objects on top of the cover or tie cargo to it.

Can I drive with it folded open?

Yes. Fold it toward the cab, clip the buckles into the buckle ends at the bulkhead and pull the straps snug, and you can drive with the bed open.

Here's the short version. Follow BAK's install sheet (below) for your truck's exact clamp positions and settings.

  1. Fit the front brackets and seal. Stick the bulkhead seal from one edge of the bulkhead to the other. If the truck has a front accessory rail, unbolt it, hook each front bracket (marked L for the driver side, R for the passenger side) into place and bolt the accessory rail back on over it; without one, fit an M6 bolt in the bracket's second slotted hole.
  2. Fit the rear brackets and adaptor rails. Inside the bed cap near each taillight well, cut out the outlined section to expose two threaded holes and bolt a rear mounting bracket there with two M6 flange bolts, then make sure all bracket bolts are tight. Bolt each adaptor rail to the front bracket with M6 bolts and to the rear bracket.
  3. Clamp the side rails. Fit the drain tubes, set each side rail on its adaptor rail pushed to the cab, and clamp them together starting with the front clamp, keeping the rail square with the bed rail. Tighten all clamps to 10 ft-lb (14 Nm) with a 1/2" wrench or socket.
  4. Prep the cover. Slide the two cover retainer clamps into the track under the cab end of the cover. Stick a gasket under each buckle end and screw the buckle ends into the pre-drilled holes on the front header panel; if your kit has wedge stops, fit them the same way with their gaskets. Hand-tighten only.
  5. Set the cover and engage the lift springs. Lay the folded cover on the side rails at the cab end, centered, and turn the retainer clamps clockwise until the lock washer is snug. Clean the cab end of the cover, then stick the bumpers evenly along its top edge where it meets the cab. Pull the pin wherever there is a spring to engage the EZ-Lift system; if it doesn't catch at first, fold the cover down and back up a few times.
  6. Unfold, adjust and check. Unfold the cover toward the tailgate and center each panel side to side and front to back, with the rear edge and tailgate seal resting on top of the tailgate. Release each latch to check it engages the rails (the sheet shows how to adjust a slam latch), then re-tighten the retainer clamps. After that, check now and then that the clamps and retainer clamps stay tight, as the sheet's care section asks.

Great fit and look

This is my 4th BakFlip I have had. I installed this on my 2026 Jeep Gladiator and looks and fits great. By far this was the easiest quickest install I have done. Wish I could post a pic to show.
