Go Rhino VoltStep electric running boards are powered steps that tuck out of sight under the rocker panels and swing out when a door opens. A magnetic sensor at each door signals the control module, two electric motors move each 6" aluminum board into position, and the boards retract when the doors close. LED lamps under the rocker panels light the step, an interior switch overrides the automatic function, and each kit is made for a specific pickup or SUV and wired to its 12V battery.
What's Included:
Driver and passenger side aluminum running boards
Four electric motor assemblies, two per board
Control module and wiring harness with fuses
Wired magnetic door sensors and door magnets
LED step lamps
Manual override switch
Vehicle-specific mounting hardware, plus brackets on applications that use them
Go Rhino installation guide
The number of door magnets and LED lamps follows the doors on the vehicle, so a 2-door application includes two of each; the guide for each part number lists its exact parts.
Features
Deploys When a Door Opens Magnetic sensors at the doors trigger the boards. Open a door and the steps move into position for entry; close the doors and they retract beneath the rocker panels.
Two Motors per Board Each board is driven by two electric motors, which Go Rhino specifies to keep the steps working through snow and slush.
Automatic Safety Stop An automatic safety-stop system halts the board when it meets an unexpected obstruction, protecting the step and the people around it.
LED Lighting on the Step LED lamps mounted under the rocker panels light the step area when the boards are deployed, so footing is easy to see at night.
Override Switch Inside the Cab An interior bypass switch turns off the automatic step function for car washes, loading cargo or any time you want the boards to stay put.
Aluminum Step, Sealed Ends The boards are lightweight, high-strength aluminum alloy with a ribbed, board-length 6" step, finished in a textured coating and sealed at the ends with molded nylon end caps.
Tucks Away While Driving Retracted, the boards sit beneath the rocker panels, keeping the vehicle's body lines and ground clearance clean when no one is getting in or out.

Installation
Type: Powered, wired installation · Mount: under the rocker panels, on a vehicle-specific kit · Power: 12V battery connection · Drilling: some applications call for a wiring pass-through hole or chasing mounting holes (the guide for each part number says) · Professional installation recommended
VoltStep is a wired installation. The motors bolt under the rocker panels and the boards attach to the motor linkages, the harness runs along the frame to the control module and the battery, and interior trim comes off so the door sensor wires can be routed to the door jambs, where the sensors pair with magnets on the doors. Go Rhino recommends professional installation, and the guide for each part number lists the tools, parts and steps for that vehicle.
Warranty, Shipping & Returns
Warranty. VoltStep electric running boards carry a 5-year limited warranty. For a claim, Go Rhino asks for a copy of the purchase receipt, a photo of the issue and a photo of the vehicle the boards are installed on, and every warranty return needs an approved RGA number.
Shipping. The boards, motors and wiring ship together in a long carton by ground carrier. The carrier and service are chosen by the size and weight of the carton when the order ships.
Inspect on delivery. Open the carton when it arrives and check the boards, all four motors, the harness, sensors, magnets and lamps against the parts list in the Go Rhino guide before you start. Note any visible carton damage on the delivery receipt and photograph it, because damage reported later is much harder to claim.
Returns. Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. If an item arrives damaged, defective or wrong, return shipping is on us. See our Returns & Refunds Policy, or email support@prestigetruck.com with any question.
About Go Rhino
Go Rhino makes exterior accessories for pickups, Jeeps and SUVs. Along the sides of the vehicle the range covers running boards in the RB10, RB20 and RB30 lines and their Slim versions, VoltStep electric running boards (power boards), nerf bars and side steps such as the 1000 Series, 4000 Series and O.E. Xtreme, V-Series V3 steps, and the Dominator steps, drop steps and DSS sliders, along with frame-mounted rock sliders. At the front, Go Rhino builds the Charger RC2 and RC4 LR bull bars, the 3000 Series grille guard and 3100 Series StepGuard, and front bumpers including the BR11, Element, Trailline and Rockline.
Further back come rear bumpers such as the BR20.5 and Trailline, sport bars and bed bars, stake pocket bed rails, XRS bed racks and cross bars, and the CEROS roof rack, plus light mounts for the hood, windshield and cowl, jack mounts and a spare tire relocation kit for Jeeps. Many Go Rhino products carry a limited lifetime structural warranty together with a 5-year finish warranty; other lines are covered for 5 years on black finishes and for the life of the product on polished stainless, and the frame-mounted sliders carry a 1-year warranty. Go Rhino is based in Brea, California.
Out when the door opens
Open a door and the VoltStep boards swing out to a 6" aluminum step; close the doors and they fold back under the rocker panels. The step is there when you need it and out of sight when you drive.
A lit step after dark
LED lamps under the rocker panels light the step area while the boards are out, so footing is easy to see at night. An interior switch turns the automatic function off when you need the boards to stay put.
Two motors on every board
Each board rides on two electric motors built to keep it moving through snow and slush, and an automatic safety stop halts it if something is in the way. The aluminum alloy step is finished in textured black powder coat or protective bedliner coating.
Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers on specs, fit and support
How do VoltStep boards know when to deploy?
A wired magnetic sensor on the door jamb pairs with a magnet on the door. Opening a door signals the control module, the motors move the boards out, and closing the doors brings them back under the rocker panels.
Can I turn the automatic function off?
Yes. An interior bypass switch overrides the automatic step function, which helps at a car wash or while loading cargo. Switch it back on to return to automatic operation.
Do VoltStep boards protect my rocker panels like fixed running boards?
No. Go Rhino states its powered boards are not designed to provide vehicle body protection, and a hard impact or contact with an obstacle can damage the components. When retracted they tuck under the rocker panels, out of the way.
Can I install VoltStep boards myself?
Go Rhino recommends professional installation. The job includes bolting the motors under the vehicle, wiring the harness to the battery, removing interior trim to route the door sensor wires and setting the sensors and magnets; some applications also call for a small wiring hole or chasing mounting holes. The guide for your part number lists every step and tool.
Why does my installation guide say E-Board?
Go Rhino has also sold its electric running boards under the E-Board name, and some of its installation guides still use it. The guide linked on each listing is the one for that part number.
What warranty comes with VoltStep boards?
A 5-year limited warranty. Keep your purchase receipt, because a claim asks for it along with photos of the issue and of the vehicle.
