The quality of these lights are everything I expected from this legendary brand. The fit and finish and quality of the wiring harness are top notch. I did cut up the harness to custom wire it to my Voswitch system so I didn't use the provided relay and toggle switch. The driving light beam pattern is nice and even. Even though many get away with driving around on the road with their off-road lights uncovered, I proudly leave the classic KC Highlighters smiley face covers on. I get a lot of compliments. KC lights are pricey but they back up their products with an incredible warranty and they have the correct beam patterns for any off-road use.
13mm screw folks. Keep that in mind when you are looking for a mount bracket.
Changed from light bar to these. Driving beams are a good choice- like adding an extra set of “brights”. Only complaint is that I wish the metal wire protector was longer.
A great light there are cheaper lights out there. With K C lights you get what you paid for . Have been using KC since the 80's couldn't ask for a better light they hold up for a long time and look good.
These lights lights are as advertised. With KC, you know what you're in for. Only fault I found is that the plastic covers will eventually crack due to weather and trail running. But that's to be expected. You can buy replacement caps if necessary. The lights are more than bright enough to light up the trail or your campsite. Install is pretty straightforward depending on how you choose to route the wiring.
Installed 2 driving lights on front bumper. Super bright. Makes headlights seem so dull. Good quality, easy to install.
Excellent lights. Great build quality. They adjust on the bottom with a nut and lug washer. Loosening the nut allows you to adjust the lights easier. To mount them, I used the nuts to attach the brackets on my Barricade bull bar to the main part of the lights. Then I re-attached the brackets to the main bull bar. I had to remove the washer so the brackets would sit flush, but the lights are secure. Pictures can show you how to secure power to the lights. I pulled off the firewall cover, drilled through the central foam, and fed the wires through. The switch needs to be mounted in a 3/4 in hole in the dash with wires plugged in the back. If you don't want to drill you may want to pick up another switch beforehand.
Added them to a bull bar on my wife's Jeep to complete the look a bit and ad more light output. Perfect our needs on that Jeep. Included wiring harness makes it incredibly simple.
Installing these lights is a breeze as long as you have some wiring experience. If not, I’m sure you could find a video tutorial on it. They are very bright, easy to adjust aim/direction, and with the classic KC smiley face covers they turn a lot of heads. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase!
Back in the late 80s, I had 3 sets of Daylighters. They were the 100 watt halogen each and had huge draw on the battery, and at times, the wiring would burn up due to the amount of power to run them. Big difference between then and now. With the LED, the lights have minimal draw, and do not get hot. Currently I have 2 sets. With only 25 watts each and a low draw on the battery, I can leave them on for hours with zero issues.
The quality of the KC lights I received is superb. The finish, the two row clamp and rubber gasket to disassemble the light, all exceeded my expectations. The harness is very nice, complete with relay and switch. I am building a cab from scratch and I am mounting seven on the roof as seen.
After a (1) month delay where my order had been dropped and I wasn't notified, I finally received my KC HiLiTES LED Daylighter Lamps. My original order specified the stainless steel models but those have been discontinued by KC and black powder coated casings have become the the new substitute. Simply speaking, KC makes the best off-road lights with a (23) year warranty.Lumen output, beam pattern, mounting method are all superior to the driving lights offered by their competitors. I expect these lights to last a lifetime just as their halogen bulb models do.
They are KCs so what else is there to say, great fit and finish, solid built.
Wanted KC lights with smilies since I was a kid. I am not disappointed with how they looked and performed. They are bright! The problem is that they don’t fit in the ditch light position on the bronco very well. Had to buy a separate set of brackets, from KC, to mount them. Not so bad, but I then had to modify the brackets because the mounting hole was too small for the bolt on the light itself. Also, the brackets were not tall enough for the light bolt. When tightened to the bracket completely, the light’s bolt digs in to the plastic around it. This is more issues with the brackets than the lights, but people should be aware of this issue if they are gonna go the same route as me. Lastly, the wiring was stupid easy! A lot of that has to do with the Bronco itself though. The install videos for KC leave a lot to be desired. Over all I am happy with the product, but feel that, for the pric
Awesome lights. Very well built. The wiring harness included looks to be long enough for a windshield light bar mount. If you are mounting them elsewhere, you will need to cut the wiring down but that is simple enough. Also, the install directions assume you are not using some sort of switch block (SPod or similar).
As usual shipping was fast. Install was easy. Mounted them on my push bar. The lights are surprisingly bright. I will be replacing my 5 rollbar KC Halogen Daylighters with these LED's in the near future.
THESE LIGHTS ARE VERY SOLID AND PERFORM WELL. I do feel like you pay extra for the KC name though, making the lights a bit over priced, dragging down the value factor.
