Bolts to factory body mounts

N-Fab lists the TrailSlider as a rocker-panel mount: its brackets pick up factory mounting points under the body. If the vehicle has factory running boards, they come off and the sliders take their place.

A textured tube underfoot

The textured black powder coat seals the steel against corrosion and gives the tube a grippier surface when you use it as a step into the cab. N-Fab warrants the finish for five years.

Built to take the hit

The TrailSlider's 2" main tube has a 3/16" wall, and every joint is welded and gusseted, so it is sized for rocks and ledges rather than looks. A rock or ledge meets the slider before it reaches the rocker panel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

Does it mount to the frame or the rocker panel?

N-Fab lists the TrailSlider as a rocker-panel mount. Its brackets pick up factory mounting points under the body along the rocker; which points depends on the vehicle, and the Installation tab of each listing describes them.

Do I have to remove my factory running boards?

Yes, if your vehicle has them. The TrailSlider takes their place, and N-Fab's instructions have you remove them first.

Do I have to drill into my vehicle to install it?

Most applications bolt to factory mounting points with the included hardware. Where a vehicle needs a hole drilled, the Installation tab of that listing says so.

Is the step wide enough to use every day?

The step is the 2" main tube itself, with a textured finish for grip. It is a slider first, so it is narrower than a flat running board; if a wide step matters more than rocker protection, a running board or hoop step will suit you better.

How much weight can the sliders take?

N-Fab does not publish a load rating for the TrailSlider, so we do not quote one. What it does publish is the construction: a 2" main tube with a 3/16" wall, fully welded and gusseted.

Will the finish hold up to road salt?

The steel is finished in textured black powder coat that N-Fab warrants for five years. Sliders get scraped on the trail, so touch up bare steel and rinse off salt through the winter to keep rust from starting.
