Motor-Driven bed access

The BedLocker replaces pulling and latching with two buttons on a key fob. Its motor rolls the aluminum slat deck forward into the canister or back out to the tailgate, and the brake holds it wherever you stop it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

How do I open and close it?

Use either of the two wireless key fobs that come with the cover. One button opens it and the other closes it. Press any button while the deck is moving and the electromagnetic brake stops it in that spot.

What if the battery dies or the motor stops?

The release handle is on the canister's driver side, up at the front of the bed. Pull it out, set its kickstand, and you can push or pull the deck by hand. It is a stopgap until power is back, and the cover may not lock tightly against the tailgate while it is in use.

Is the BedLocker waterproof?

Pace Edwards does not call it waterproof, and its warranty excludes water intrusion. The design sends water that gets past the deck into the canister and out through drain tubes, so the tubes must be routed out of the bed and kept clear.

Do I have to drill into my truck?

Not for the rails on most applications, since they clamp to the bed. The drain tubes use the factory drain holes or ports at the front of the bed, and a truck without them needs holes drilled. Over-the-sill bedliners usually need the sill portion trimmed. Where Pace Edwards lists a fit note for a truck, such as factory bed storage boxes or a factory rail system, it appears under Fit guidance and in the Notes column of the fitment table on that part's page.

Which rails do I need, standard or Explorer?

Standard rails are for the cover on its own. If you plan to mount a Pace Edwards Contractor Rig or Utility Rig rack over the cover, Pace Edwards recommends Explorer Series rails, which have their own part numbers.

How should I clean the cover?

Wash it as you would the truck's paint, but do not wax it, since wax is hard to remove from the textured finish. Avoid alcohol, petroleum and silicone cleaners such as Armor All. Now and then remove the canister's top cover to clean it out, and clean the drain tubes.
