A long form install filmed on a Ram 1500, from box to finished cover. It is worth watching for the clamp positions and for how little tooling the job actually needs.
Straight answers on specs, fit and support
Take the cover out. The deck and the canister come away as one piece with a screwdriver and a seven sixteenths wrench, and the job takes minutes rather than an afternoon. Put it back the same way when the tall load is gone.
It does not. Pace Edwards built this model to run the rails with no stopping points, so it opens and closes in one clean sweep. If parking the deck at set intervals matters to you, look at a model with intermittent latching instead.
The deck is held by a latch at the rear and the material is aluminum under vinyl rather than open fabric. Pace Edwards points out that cargo under a closed cover with the tailgate locked is better placed than cargo left in the cab.
Water that reaches the edges drops into the recessed U channels inside the rails, runs toward the front and leaves through drain tubes. It is a weather resistant design rather than a sealed one, and water intrusion is excluded from the warranty.
Yes. The canister is contoured and sits low across the bulkhead, so the view through the back glass stays clear whether the cover is open or closed. That matters most when you are backing up to a trailer on your own.
Two years from purchase, covering deck delamination, spring failure and the hardware. Fading, general wear, storm damage and anything that follows from water in the bed are excluded. Misuse, accidents and an install that was not done properly void it outright.
