Most hard covers ask you to decide between covered and open. The M-Series XT adds a third answer, because its ratchet locks the rolling deck at three points along the rails, and the deck itself never leaves the truck.
Under the skin the M-Series XT is built the way every M-Series cover is built. Aluminum slats do the structural work, an industrial-grade vinyl top is laid over them, a patented theft-resistant hinge joins one slat to the next, and a torsion-spring drive carries the weight of the deck as it travels. A ratchet mechanism holds the cover at three points along the rails, and the keyed twist latch sits behind a hinged cover that keeps weather out of the cylinder. The canister is 7.25" deep, so the bed loses only that much length to the stowed cover.
Part 402M-XT covers the 6'4" bed on the 2019-2026 Ram 1500. Short-bed trucks want 401M-XT, and the earlier body style at the same bed length is 448M-XT.

Features
MaxTrak T-Slot Rails
Each side rail is a MaxTrak extrusion with a continuous T-slot along the top. Crossbars, tie-down knobs and rack feet bolt straight into the slot at any point along the bed, so accessories anchor to the cover's own structure rather than clamping over the bed lip, and the deck still retracts underneath them.
Locks With Your Tailgate
A tailgate extrusion is built into the rear edge of the cover. Close it, turn the key, and the tailgate cannot be dropped, so the bed is shut by the cover and the tailgate acting as one unit rather than two separate locks.
Three Latching Positions
A patented ratchet-style mechanism catches the deck at three points along its travel. Carrying something taller than the bed walls no longer forces a choice between fully covered and fully open, because you can park the cover partway back and lock it there.
Weatherproof Key Cover
The keyed twist latch sits under a hinged flap that shuts over the key slot. It is a small part that answers a real winter problem: water and snow stay out of the cylinder, so the lock is not frozen solid the morning after a storm.
Drains Through the Rails, Not Onto Your Gear
Hidden seals shed most of the weather, and integrated channels in the side rails collect whatever gets past them. Two drain tubes route that water down through the bed and out under the truck instead of letting it pool on what you are carrying.
Vinyl Over Aluminum Slats
Aluminum slats carry the load and the structure; an industrial-grade vinyl skin is laid over the top. The result keeps the flat, seamless look of a soft cover while the deck underneath stays hard.
Clamps On, No Holes in the Truck
The side tracks clamp to the bed rails with the hardware in the box and the canister sits against the bulkhead. Nothing is drilled into the vehicle. A drop-in plastic bedliner does have to be cut back and drilled so the canister seats and the drain tubes pass through, and the cut measurements are in the sheet.
Fitment & Compatibility
Fit guidance: Fits the 2019-2026 Ram 1500 with the 6'4" (76.3") bed. Will not fit a truck with the Multifunction (split swing-gate) tailgate, and it will not fit a truck with the RamBox cargo-management system; the RamBox part for this bed is the M-Series LG456M. For other bed lengths on the same truck see 401M-XT (5'7") and 447M-XT (5'7"). Bed lengths are listed as Roll-N-Lock publishes them, so measure yours if the truck was offered with more than one box.

Installation
Type: Clamp-on, nothing drilled into the truck · Tools: a jig saw, a drill with a Phillips head, a Phillips screwdriver, a 5/8" box wrench, a ratchet with an 8mm socket and a tape measure · Hardware: Included, with a 1/4" Allen wrench
The MaxTrak rails clamp to the bed rails with the supplied hardware and the canister housing sits against the bulkhead at the front of the bed. No holes go into the truck itself.
If your bed has a drop-in plastic liner, read this first. Roll-N-Lock's sheet has you cut the liner back across the bulkhead and at the tailgate end with a jig saw, and drill five 1/2" holes through it so the canister sits down properly and the drain tubes can pass through. The sheet gives the exact measurements. A spray-in liner needs none of that. This is the one step people are surprised by, so it is better to know before the box is open than after.
Track spacing is the step that decides whether the cover latches: Roll-N-Lock specifies 58-3/4" inside track to track on this platform, and the cargo shield has notches you use as the gauge. Clamps go to 62 in-lb (7 Nm) at the bed clamps, and shims are supplied if a track needs squaring up. Route the drain tubes clear of the cab vents. Roll-N-Lock does not publish an installation time for this cover, so we are not going to quote one.

Warranty, Shipping & Returns
Warranty. Roll-N-Lock covers this product with a three (3) year limited warranty to the original purchaser against defects in material and workmanship. The warranty is not transferable, and it expires if the cover is moved to another vehicle or the original vehicle changes owner. Roll-N-Lock states plainly that it does not warrant against water intrusion, including leaks in normal use, so treat this as a water-resistant cover rather than a sealed one.
Three things in the warranty conditions that catch people out. Never spray lubricant into the tracks, silicone or petroleum based especially, because it attracts grit and Roll-N-Lock voids the warranty for it. Clear snow and ice off the cover before you open it. And if the truck is ever towed from the rear, the cover has to come off first. Clean with mild automotive soap and water only, and re-check the clamps after a week of driving.
Free shipping. This cover ships free to the lower 48 states. It travels as an oversized parcel rather than a freight shipment.
Inspect on delivery. The cover arrives in a long, flat carton that takes the knocks before anything inside does. Check the packaging when it arrives, and if you see damage, note it on the delivery paperwork and contact us straight away so we can put it right.
Compliance. Country of origin: USA. Roll-N-Lock assembles this cover in Pompano Beach, Florida from US and global materials. California residents: Proposition 65 warning for cancer and reproductive harm.
Returns. Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. If an item arrives damaged, defective or wrong, return shipping is on us. See our Returns & Refunds Policy, or email support@prestigetruck.com with any question.
About Roll-N-Lock

Roll-N-Lock builds retractable truck bed covers and cargo management hardware at its plant in Pompano Beach, Florida, and is part of the RealTruck group of truck accessory brands. Every cover is assembled in Florida from US and global materials and is backed by a three-year limited warranty to the original purchaser, or five years on the electric E-Series.
The M-Series XT is the vinyl-topped Roll-N-Lock fitted with the company's MaxTrak T-slot rail system. Aluminum slats carry the load under an industrial-grade vinyl skin, and the rails give the cover a mounting surface the plain M-Series does not have. Drop the rails and you have the M-Series; swap the vinyl top for a dual-layer aluminum deck and you have the A-Series XT; go electric and you have the E-Series XT.
Every Roll-N-Lock cover shares the same mechanism: a torsion-spring drive, a patented theft-resistant hinge between the slats, a keyed twist latch behind a weatherproof key-slot cover, and a tailgate extrusion that stops the tailgate opening while the cover is closed. The deck retracts into a canister at the bulkhead and locks there rather than stowing loose in the bed.
Prestige Truck is an authorized Roll-N-Lock dealer. Every cover we ship is new, in the factory carton, and covered by Roll-N-Lock's warranty direct from the manufacturer.
