Installation
Type: Complete lift system with Falcon shocks · Install: Several linked sheets, some drilling · Afterward: Alignment required
Read every sheet linked for this system and plan the order before starting. Confirm your wheels meet the backspacing requirement. A certified mechanic is recommended, and an alignment and headlight aim check should follow the install.
Falcon quick start for the JL 3.3 piggyback shocks: the front fender liner is trimmed with the provided template, the lower section of the rear fender liner comes out, and the reservoirs mount with the supplied hardware.
Torque: 56 ft-lb, Shock bolts; 50 ft-lb, Reservoir mounting bolts; 30 in-lb, Roost guard bolts, with thread locker
Explains Falcon Mode Adjust: with the shock fully extended, rotating the shaft 360° switches the internal bypass between Performance and Soft/Cold tuning, and the change can be felt as it clicks over.
Covers the JL jounce bumper kit: the factory bump stops come out of the front jounce tubes and rear frame mounts, and TeraFlex extended bump stops twist in, with silicone spray to help if needed. On Rubicon models the locker actuator plug must be disconnected and reconnected.
Tools named in the guide: Basic hand tools, Jack or jack stands, Factory service manual
Torque: 56 ft-lb, Shock bolts; 69 ft-lb, Sway bar link bolts
Covers the JL rear track bar axle bracket. TeraFlex states it needs at least a 2" bump stop spacer to keep the body from being damaged as the suspension cycles. Two 1/2" holes are drilled after marking the bracket position (a center punch and pilot hole are suggested). The lower track bar position is for 2.5"-3" lifts and the upper is for 4" lifts; it can be installed with the Jeep on the ground.
Tools named in the guide: Basic mechanics tool set, Factory service manual, Drill, 1/2" drill bits, Pilot drill bit, Center punch, Torque wrench
Torque: 95 ft-lb, Supplied M12 bracket bolts (16mm and 18mm); 150 ft-lb, Supplied M14 track bar bolt (18mm and 21mm)
Covers the Alpine short control arms on the JL. TeraFlex recommends doing the job with all four tires on the ground and never removing more than two arms at a time. On diesel models the exhaust blocks the passenger upper arm bolt, and the sheet describes lowering the exhaust or cutting that bolt. Arms are set to the lengths in the sheet and torqued at ride height unless they have IR bushings.
Tools named in the guide: Metric sockets and open-end wrenches, Torque wrench, General mechanics tools, Factory service manual
Torque: 103 ft-lb + 145°, Front lower arm bolts (24mm nut); 37 ft-lb + 135°, Front upper arm bolts (18mm); 74 ft-lb + 50°, Rear arm bolts (21mm), see sheet; 30 ft-lb, Adjuster clamp bolts (8mm); 59 ft-lb, Sway bar link bolts; 74 ft-lb, Lower shock bolts
Covers the JL 3.5" spring lift: new front and rear springs and bump stop spacers go in, the brake line brackets on the lower control arms and the rear parking brake cable bracket are discarded, and the parking brake eyelets are held with locking pliers while the rear axle is lowered. TeraFlex states that some form of caster correction is required for the base spring lift, that a 37" tire on a Sport or Sahara may need additional bump stop spacers, and that a rear track bar bracket is recommended to keep the rear driveshaft from contacting the gas tank. Control arm bolts are torqued at ride height unless the arms have Alpine IR bushings. This version includes the front track bar bracket, which requires drilling two 1/2" holes.
Tools named in the guide: Metric sockets and open-end wrenches, Torque wrench, General mechanics tools, Factory service manual, Drill with 1/2" bit, Locking pliers (2)
Torque: 12 ft-lb, Front bump stop hardware; 25 ft-lb, Rear bump stop bracket bolts (8mm and 6mm hex); 66 ft-lb, Sway bar link nuts; 45 ft-lb, Rear sway bar link nuts; 103 ft-lb + 145°, Front lower control arm bolts; 37 ft-lb + 135°, Front upper control arm bolts (18mm); 74 ft-lb + 65°, Rear upper control arm bolts (21mm); 130 ft-lb, Lug nuts
Covers the front HD forged adjustable track bar. If a TeraFlex front track bar bracket is already installed, leave it in place. Set the bar near the length needed to center the axle (the factory bar is 33-3/4"), reuse the OEM hardware, and do the final tightening with the vehicle on the ground and the suspension loaded. The clamp bolts are tightened alternately until both hold torque, which can take up to 10 passes, and the drag link may need adjusting if the steering wheel is off center.
Tools named in the guide: Metric sockets and open-end wrenches, Torque wrench, General mechanics tools, 12-point 10mm socket, 1-3/8" wrench, Factory service manual
Torque: 52 ft-lb + 115° (ref. 205 ft-lb), 21mm track bar bolt, first end; 52 ft-lb + 155° (ref. 200 ft-lb), 21mm track bar bolt, second end; 60 ft-lb, 12-point 10mm adjuster clamp bolts
Covers the front sway bar quick disconnect kit: parking brackets bolt to the spring towers, parking studs go in, axle-side quick disconnect brackets mount with the stock sway bar bolts, and the new links install with grease on the stud for a tight fit. A spacer in the kit is used on 2024 and newer JL and JT only; 2018-2023 JL and 2020-2023 JT do not need it.
Tools named in the guide: Metric sockets and open-end wrenches, Torque wrench, General mechanics tools, 6mm hex key, Factory service manual
Torque: 20 ft-lb, 13mm parking bracket bolts; 50 ft-lb, Parking studs (15mm stud, 9/16" nut); 75 ft-lb, Axle quick disconnect bracket studs (17mm stud, 19mm nut); 59 ft-lb, Axle bracket to axle with the stock sway bar bolts; 69 ft-lb, 18mm link nut, holding the stud with a 6mm hex key; 5 ft-lb, Grease zerk

About TeraFlex
TeraFlex is a Jeep company at heart, started and staffed by people who drive them. It designs, engineers and builds suspension systems, shocks, axles and performance parts, with the Wrangler and Gladiator at the center of the lineup.
The company traces its history to the 1950s, when it began as MEPCO (Military Equipment Parts Company), one of the first companies anywhere to supply Jeep parts and accessories. TeraFlex Manufacturing followed in 1996 to build heavy-duty suspension for the TJ Wrangler, and the brand credits itself with the first suspension system for that coil-spring platform, a low-range gearing option for the 231 transfer case and the CRD60 high-pinion axle.
The current catalog covers full lift systems, the Falcon shock line and a long list of Wrangler and Gladiator upgrades, and the company is now carrying the same engineering approach to other vehicles as well.
