Multi-Shield Is What You Are Paying For
Multi-Shield is a coarse textured matte black coating that UnderCover specifies for impact and abrasion resistance, and no other cover in its folding range carries it. Every folding cover UnderCover makes is aluminum underneath, so the finish is the difference, and it is the part that takes the damage first.
400 lb Across the Closed Cover
Rigid aluminum panels on an aluminum frame carry up to 400 lb spread evenly across the closed cover. That is enough for a snow load, flat sheet goods or a rooftop bag, provided the weight is distributed rather than concentrated on a single panel.
Drop the Tailgate Without Unlatching
The rear seal is dual-function, so the tailgate opens and closes with the cover still latched. It sounds like a detail until you use the truck every day, at which point it is the difference between reaching into the bed and performing a small ritual first.
Seals That Assume Water Gets In
EPDM rubber seals run the perimeter and integrated drains carry anything that gets past them down through the bed and out under the truck. A folding cover has panel seams, and UnderCover designs for that rather than around it, which is why the drain path is part of the cover instead of an accessory.
Two-Thirds on Straps, or the Whole Box
Fold the panels forward and the integrated safety straps hold the stack at the two-thirds position for everyday loading. Push it further and the prop rods stand it against the rear window, clearing the full length of the bed.
Square Rails Are What Make It Latch
UnderCover's own sheet is blunt about this: unless the side rails sit square to your bed rails, at 90 degrees, the rear latch has nothing to catch on. Get the rails square during the install and the latch problem people write about never happens. Re-check the clamps after a week of driving, which UnderCover asks for anyway.
Clamps On, Nothing Drilled to Mount It
The side rails clamp to the inside of your bed rails with the hardware in the box, and no hole is made in the truck to mount the cover on any ArmorFlex application. Where a drill bit appears on the tools list it belongs to the drainage, which routes through existing bed plugs, behind a liner, or through a hole depending on the truck.
Five-Year Limited Warranty
UnderCover backs the ArmorFlex for five years from the date of purchase rather than the three years that covers the entry folding models. Clean it with mild automotive soap and water, keep solvents and lubricants off the rubber, and the terms are straightforward.

The side rails clamp to the inside of your bed rails with the hardware in the box, and the cover sits on those rails. Get the rails square to the bed rails, at 90 degrees, before you tighten anything. UnderCover's sheet is explicit that the rear latch will not engage otherwise, and a latch that will not catch is almost always a rail that is not square.
The drain tubes can be routed behind a bedliner, through the factory bed plugs, or through a 5/8" hole if you prefer to drill one. None of those three routes is needed to hold the cover on.

Warranty. UnderCover covers the ArmorFlex with a five (5) year limited warranty from the original date of purchase. Three conditions in the terms catch people out more than the rest. It has to be clear of snow, ice and any other debris before you fold it back. It must be secured at all points whenever the vehicle is moving, and it has to come off the truck before the truck is towed from the rear. Check every clamp and retention mechanism for tightness about a week after installation and periodically after that. Washing is mild automotive soap and water, nothing stronger: insect repellents, oils, solvents and lubricants can all attack the rubber hinges and seals, and that damage is not covered. Free shipping. This cover ships free within the contiguous United States as an oversized package rather than a freight shipment. Inspect on delivery. The carton is long and shallow, and it is the part that takes the knocks, so it is worth a proper look before you sign for it. If the box is crushed, torn or soaked, write that on the delivery paperwork and tell us the same day so we can get a replacement moving.
