Tested Through Heat, Cold And Humidity

Those are the brand's own figures, and the Ultra Flex is the only folding cover it publishes test numbers for at all. Will it keep my bed dry in heavy rain?

Highly water resistant, yes. Waterproof is a word UnderCover does not use about it, and neither will we. What the brand actually claims here is fit rather than drainage: reworked seals and close-fitting clamps that pull the cover hard down onto the bed rail, tested from -40°F to 180°F and up to 95% humidity. There is no published drainage specification for the Ultra Flex at all, so do not picture a sealed drain system quietly doing the work behind those seals. Every tri-fold has joints where its panels meet and a seam at the bulkhead, and heavy sustained rain, a pressure washer, or a bed slightly out of square will find them. Most applications do put drain tubes in the carton, routed out of the bed as part of the install, and the sheet for your own truck shows where yours go. Buy it to keep the weather off the bed. Anything that genuinely cannot get damp deserves a sealed box of its own.

How hard is the install, and do I have to drill?

No Ultra Flex application makes a hole in the truck to hold the cover on. UnderCover grades it Level 1 and quotes 30 minutes or less for one person on its Tip-and-Click system: rails on, clamps down onto the bed rail, cover clicked into place. The rest comes down to whatever already lives on the inner face of your bed rail, because that is exactly where the clamps grip.
