Description & Fitment
For the passenger side, the 173-5-01 Pork Chop puts 3.4 ft³ of gloss black aluminum storage over the wheel well. Its 46.75" x 13.5" x 19.5" body is the earlier -01 shape, with two keys for the EXTREME PROTECTION lock.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it fit my Silverado 1500?
It is on our fitment list for that truck. Wheel wells differ by bed, so measure the space over yours before ordering.
Can I put it on the driver side?
No. It is built for the passenger side. The 172-5-01 is the matching box for the other side.
Do I have to drill my truck?
Yes. Weather Guard's Pork Chop manual mounts the box with blind fasteners in drilled holes. Check under the vehicle first, and near the fuel tank install the floor bolts from below in 3/8" holes instead of using blind fasteners.
How does the -01 differ from the -04?
The -01 is the classic Pork Chop shape with the EXTREME PROTECTION lock, at 46.75" x 13.5" x 19.5". The current -04 wheel-well box is 46.63" x 15.43" x 16.4" and uses the 1Key UltraLock.
Will it work under a bed cap?
Weather Guard says the low body works with some caps. Measure the clearance inside your cap against the box's 19.5" height before ordering.
What about an aluminum truck bed?
Weather Guard's manual calls for zinc-rich primer on every drilled hole and plastic washers around each blind fastener in an aluminum bed.
Installation
Here's the short version. Follow Weather Guard's install sheet (below) for the exact positions and hardware.
- Set the box in place with the cover open, flat on the floor and about 1" from the bed rail; check the tailgate closes. Fasten to the bed floor, not a liner or mat.
- Hold the end mounting angle against the box with its foot on the stake pocket or inner wall, mark and center punch one hole on each.
- Drill both 3/16", open the box hole to 3/8" and the stake-pocket hole to 1/2", set the blind fastener and bolt on the angle.
- Fit the floor mounting angle (spacer if needed) or the lower mounting angle as shown.
- If the box can rest on the wheel well, drill 3/16" then 3/8" through box bottom and wheel well top and bolt through instead.
- Check each hole is deep enough before setting a blind fastener; on aluminum beds follow the upfit steps on p2.

Weather Guard backs this box with its Limited Lifetime Warranty, issued by Werner Co.: the box is warranted against defects in material and workmanship for its expected lifetime, counted from the day you buy it.- Only the original purchaser is covered, and coverage ends if the box passes to a new owner.
- Every claim needs a copy of the original sales receipt, so keep your Prestige Truck order receipt with your records.
- Werner Co. picks the remedy: it repairs the faulty part or replaces the whole box at no charge for parts or labor, or it may refund what you paid or issue a credit toward a new Weather Guard product.
- Not covered: normal wear and tear, cosmetic rust, scratches, accident damage, repairs Werner Co. did not authorize, misuse, overloading, or a box that was not mounted or used as Weather Guard's written instructions describe. Damage to what is stored in the box or to the vehicle is excluded too.
- Where the law allows, Werner Co. accepts no liability for incidental, special, indirect or consequential damages, economic loss included. This is the only express warranty on Weather Guard products, and no dealer can change it.
- Report a problem promptly once you find it. To start a claim, contact us with your order number and photos of the issue, and we will take it up with Weather Guard for you.

Inspect on delivery
Make sure the two keys and the hardware kit with its mounting angles and blind fasteners are in the carton, and check the seal and finish before mounting. Check it as soon as it arrives.- Look for crushed ends, punctures or tears in the carton.
- If something looks wrong, take photos of the box and the parts (and if a driver asks you to sign, note the damage on the receipt).
- Open the box and check the parts against the parts list before you install.
