Best Upgrade for Your Truck

This is Weather Guard's own brand film about outfitting a working pickup, built on the idea that the truck should already be loaded and organized before the day starts. It puts the bed and rail equipment in the context of a real work day rather than a spec sheet. Watch it if you are still deciding how much storage a truck actually needs. It is the clearest short look at how Weather Guard boxes, racks and drawer units are meant to work together on one vehicle, and it comes straight from the manufacturer rather than a reseller.

Weather Guard Defender Series Truck Rack Install

Weather Guard's Defender Series install video shows the lightweight aluminum truck rack going onto a pickup with no drilling required. You see the compression clamps grip the bed rails and the crossbars set up to carry ladders, lumber and pipe, rated to about 800 pounds. It makes clear how quickly the rack mounts and how the ladder stops keep a load in place. It is a helpful look at the rack in place before you buy or install your own.

Weather Guard Steel Truck Rack Install

This official Weather Guard guide shows how to install a steel truck rack for hauling ladders, lumber and long loads over the bed. You watch the rack mount to the bed and get tightened down, with the load bars set for ladders and pipe. It gives a clear picture of how the rack goes on and how much it adds to a truck's hauling capability. It is the manufacturer's own reference for setting up the rack correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

Does this cab protector come with a mounting kit?

No. The Protect-A-Rail mounts with a Weather Guard mounting kit that is custom fit to your truck and is sold separately, so the mounting hardware is not included with the guard. Weather Guard and its dealers list this kit as required for the Protect-A-Rail line, so order the kit that matches your make and model along with the 1906-3-02.

Will it fit my truck?

It is built for full-size pickups such as the F-150, Silverado and Sierra 1500 through 3500, Ram 1500 through 3500, Tundra and Titan, using the matching vehicle-specific mounting kit. Confirm the correct Protect-A-Rail kit for your make and model before ordering. It is not made for mid-size or compact trucks.

What is the difference between the white 1906-3-02 and the black 1906-5-02?

They are the same steel Protect-A-Rail screen cab protector in different finishes. The 1906-3-02 is Brite White ARMOR TUF and the 1906-5-02 is Gloss Black ARMOR TUF. Pick the color that matches your truck or fleet; the protection, size and mounting are the same.

What is it made of?

It is a welded steel frame with a steel diamond-mesh screen, finished in Brite White ARMOR TUF powder coat. Steel gives it the strength to stop shifting cargo, and the powder coat resists rust, chips and fading.

Can I still see out the back window?

Yes. A rectangular cutout in the center of the mesh keeps a sight line out the rear window while the rest of the panel screens the cab from shifting loads.

Is it covered by a warranty?

Yes. The 1906-3-02 is made in the USA and backed by a Weather Guard Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
