Access Original part 14199 is the 5'7" bed application for the 2009-2027 Dodge 1500 and Ram 1500 and 1500 Classic. Rolled up, the cover rests against the front of the bed on nylon storage straps, leaving the rest of the box open for tall or bulky loads. The fitment table confirms the exact trucks, and the Installation tab lists the mounting method and any extra hardware this truck calls for.

Features

AutoLatch II dual latches
One pull on the cord from either side frees both nylon latches at once. Close the cover and they lock under the side rails on their own, with 1/2" of latch engagement.

XT-Dial tension control
Hand-turned dials tighten or loosen the vinyl in small steps. Turn both sides by the same amount and no tools are needed.

Sealed on four sides
Vinyl seals at the front and rear, foam on both side rails, an Element Seal gasket across the bulkhead and rear corner seals close off the usual gaps around the bed.

Hook-and-loop side closure
A 1-1/2" wide slide-in hook strip meets the angled rail to close each edge, and the cover rolls up tight enough for one person to manage.

Cab guard storage straps
Heavy-duty nylon straps and buckles hold the rolled cover at the front of the bed and keep it from rubbing the cab. With the cover closed, the straps clip away underneath.

Increased capacity profile
The cover sits 1-1/2" above the bed rails over black aluminum rails, bars and 3 bows, finished at the tailgate by the Slantback rear bar.

Cold-flexible textured vinyl
Reinforced, commercial-grade vinyl with UV protection stays pliable down to -40°F, so the cover keeps rolling through winter.

Installation

Type: Clamp-on for most trucks, special or bolt-on hardware on some  ·  Install: side rails, bulkhead and rear seals, then the pre-rolled cover and tension adjusters

Follow the standard Original manual together with any truck-specific sheet listed on the Installation tab. Recheck the clamps and front bar bolts from time to time after the install.

What the instructions for this truck call for:

• Tools listed: (2) 1/2" Wrenches, Marking pen, Protective eyewear, Tape measure or ruler, Ft-lb Torque wrench with 1/2" socket, Scissors, Spring clamp - optional, In-lb Torque wrench with 10 mm socket, Ratchet with short extension and 7/16" socket, 7/16" Wrench, Tape measure, Utility knife or scissors, 1/2" Wrench, 1/2" Open end wrench, Ft-lbs torque wrench with 1/2" socket
• Torque: L. Torque factory bolts to 65 in-lbs (5.5 ft-lbs), then fully tighten serrated flange nuts holding side rail to side rail bracket.
• Drilling: the instructions for this truck include no drilling step.
• Bed liners: Under the rail drop-in bed liner requires minimal modification at front corner of box and back by tailgate. Over the rail drop-in bed liner requires considerable modification.
• After installing: For trucks with electric tailgates, cover and tailgate should remain closed after installation for at least 24 hours. (electric tailgates only)

On arrival, unpack the cover and check the rails, bars, vinyl and hardware against the component list in the manual before you start the install. Keep every carton and piece of packing until the cover is installed and working correctly.
