The Compressor Range Explained

ARB's own walk through of how the single and twin, portable and on-board compressors differ, and which job each one is actually for. Useful if you are still choosing between them rather than committed to this one.

Twin Compressor Demo

ARB running a twin motor compressor under load, showing the airflow a twin actually delivers against the clock. This film is specific to the twin motor units and is only shown on twin listings.

How Fast Is The ARB Twin?

A thirty second answer to the question everyone asks about the twin: how long a full air up actually takes. Filmed on the twin motor compressor, so it is only shown on twin motor listings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

Does it really have a tank?

Yes. ARB catalogs this as the twin portable with air tank, and the tank is visible in the case alongside the compressor. It is what makes air tools usable rather than a frustration.

How is it different from the on-board twin?

The compressor is the same. This one is packed in a hard case with a tank, a 7 m hose, battery clamps and an inflation kit, so nothing is installed. The on-board CKMTA12 bolts into the vehicle and is wired to a dash switch.

Can I run it from a cigarette socket?

No. It draws up to 68.6 A and it comes with battery clamps for exactly that reason. An accessory socket cannot supply that and will be damaged trying.

What is the duty cycle?

100 percent. It runs continuously rather than needing 30 minutes off after 30 minutes on, which is the practical difference between the twin and the single motor units.

How heavy is it?

33 lb, or 15 kg, in an 18.8" x 14" x 7.3" case. It is a two hand lift and it takes real space, which is the trade for not installing anything.

Why is there no installation video?

There is nothing to install, and separately ARB has published no compressor installation film of any kind. The operation guide is in the Resources tab.
