A full install of the Trifecta ALX on a 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500, just under eleven minutes long. Extang publishes vehicle-specific i-Sheets, so if your truck has a RamBox or is one of the models with its own sheet, follow that sheet instead.

Straight answers on specs, fit and support
Folded forward against the cab, the ALX leaves two thirds of the bed open, which is the working figure Extang publishes for this cover. When a load needs the full bed length, the cover lifts off in seconds without tools and clamps back on the same way, so removal is a routine step rather than a teardown.
The Ancona tarp is marine-grade vinyl and adhesive-free snap-on triple-fin seals run along the bed rails, the bulkhead and the tailgate, so rain, spray, dirt and dust stay off the load. Extang rates the cover weather-resistant rather than watertight, so treat it as protection from direct exposure to moisture and not a sealed box.
They share the same feature set. The difference is at the tailgate: the ALX carries the Secure Rotary Release Latching System, so it opens with one hand and relatches on its own when the cover comes back down. Extang describes the ALX as the 2.0 with that updated latch, so the latch is the reason to pick it.
Yes. Fold the panels forward and fasten both integrated buckle straps before you move the truck. Extang's warranty spells this out: in the open position the cover must be fully folded and secured with both buckles, and in the closed position it must be flat with all four clamps tight. A tarp left loose at speed can whip and tear, which the warranty does not cover.
Use Extang's Tonno Tonic or plain soap and water. Skip vinyl conditioners that contain silicone. Extang says they dry the vinyl out and crack it over time, and improper cleaning is one of the listed ways to void the warranty. Also clear snow, ice and debris off the top before folding the panels open or the cover can be damaged.
Yes, but the part number changes. The ALX comes in separate versions for Ram beds with and without the RamBox (the RamBox version is built for beds with the silver cargo rails), for beds with and without a Deck Rail System and for beds with and without Utili-Track. Choose the matching option when you select your truck. Extang also publishes a RamBox-specific install sheet.

Researched several soft folding covers and this one was perfect for my 8ft bed Silverado. Easy to install, remove and secures items well.
when I called extang, they suggested it would be cheaper and better to buy it through one of their distributors, I called around and by far it was cheaper directly through them took maybe 15 minutes to install works great still with they had the trifold soft top version
The cover looks great, is completely waterproof and easy to install - make sure you watch the video first to save yourself time. Donβt assume the opener is broken when you see a piece of wire that looks like it has been cut. That is simply a piece you will install and tighten down at the end.

This is my second Extang Tonneau cover, Chevy Colorado now on my new Silverado. Very happy looks great. The only thing I noticed on the larger truck cover, I get two small puddles of water when parked on level surface. Seems the material could be a bit tighter or the ribs could be a bit more arched to let the water run off and not pool up.

Ive had many Extang Trifecta tonneau covers in the past. this is my first ALX. I like the simple knob to lift the tonneau cover. it fits and looks just like all my past Extangs, fit and finish are great.
The price bump was 100% worth it for the single release point. Combine this with a BedRug XL and the Maverick can do truck stuff, but also has the same ease of access and useability for simple grab-and-go trips: salt, seeds, groceries, various activities! Love it.
The cover seems nice and I like the unlocking mechanism. The install wasnβt the easiest. After installed I noticed defects in the vinyl. Scratches and what not so not super happy about that being it came like that straight out of the box. Iβll for sure go with a different brand and cover next time. Most likely a solid/hard cover like a BakFlip.

Having had a great experience using the Extang Trifecta 2.0 for the past 3 years on a 2020 GMC Canyon, I was excited to get this Trifecta ALX with its new latching mechanism for my new 2023 Ram 1500. The initial install was a little tricky because I tried to do it only off of the written instructions. Watching the install video helped a lot, especially the part showing how the clamps are adjustable from side to side. Once I got everything lined up and properly adjusted, the new closing and opening mechanism of the ALX is much more convenient than the one on the 2.0. Have been using it for about 4 weeks now, and I very much like it. Would buy again, and would recommend this new Trifecta ALX model over the older 2.0 model.

I shouldβve bought the ones with the pull downs on the side to lock it in place. The one I bought with the Easy open brackets been very easily and it leaks when I go through the car wash or it rains
Easy to install, I really like the single turn easy latch system, seems to seal pretty good, very little wind flap.
Love the top and also gives me the option for swing away tool boxes without hitting the top release know. Took a bit to get releases adjusted.
I have had this cover on for over 1 month now and I really do like it. The cover seems well made and fits great. I have not had any issues with water getting inside the truck bed after I installed this cover. The latch mechanism is the weak link on this bed cover. They should engineer the latch so it could be opened from either side of the truck. Also, it is made of too flimsy materials. Value for the money spent is great overall.
Purchased for my β22 GMC Denali 1500 with the 6.5β bed. It showed up in Idaho in 2 days. Watched the installation video which made the install go quick and easy. Didnβt experience any issues with the install. It fit very well. Wasnβt sure about the folding tonneau but my son talked me into it. He has the soft roll up style. Father in law said stay away from metal roll-up. Love how the Tri-fold is working. Opened it and secured to transport my wheel barrow. Turned out it fit under it. Went thru the car wash and it kept my bed completely dry. I was shocked. The ease of operation makes me love this cover more and more. I would highly recommend this cover. If my lab eats this one, I will buy another after I deal with him.
On my old truck I had the original all snap version of the Extang. Using it in cold weather was tough trying to snap it closed. I wanted a solid cover for my new GMC 1500 but did not want to spend the money. I think it was a wise choice buying the ALX. Easy to install, easy to remove, and easy to fold up and store while on the truck.
The latch on this cover solved one of my "short people problems"! I can reach it with one hand and it rolls up perfectly without the latches hanging down and resting on the cover!
Works great so far only have had it on the truck for a month.
Very well designed and constructed, installation was very easy. Adjusting the latching mechanism took the most time, but I am a perfectionist! The locking mechanism settled in after a few days and works great now. This is my wife's truck and she loves the one side opening feature. I also have an Extang Trifecta 2.0 on my F-250.and love it!

This truck bed cover is everything I hoped it would be. It looks Great. Very Durable. Makes it so nice to haul items and be able to cover them up. Very Satisfied
The overall concept is okay, but the engineering could and should be a whole lot better at the business end of the tonneau. Even with proper tools and an extra man to press down on the cover rails during installation, it is essentially impossible to get the cover perfectly taught because the latch rings are badly designed and don't make a perfectly solid grip. They should clamp on properly with proper leverage, but instead you're use little screws to apply the requisite stress. Also, the release is dependent on a thin cable, and the entire mechanism should be a lot more robust given the cost of the cover.
Great cover for the money. Super easy installation and love the twist knob open. I can open easily from one side and fold back with no problem.
Iβve owned it just a few months, but so far so good. Seems to be a quality cover. Iβve owned several of the Trifecta covers on different trucks and it appears to be of the same quality. I do really like how the cover unlocks and secures.

Originally had a hard cover but it wouldn't stay firmly mounted and leaked in the corners. This item was cheaper and looks much better. And no leaks.

After waiting for a month for it to ship the cover arrived with a hole in it still waiting on a replacement. I believe they should evaluate the packing the cover comes in because that may be the reason for the hole . but for the wait of a month for shipping that is poor customer service
Excellent Quality with Looks to match. I was cautious about ordering a Tonneau Cover for my 2024 Ford Maverick and installing it myself. . . but with the instructions included and the high quality hardware, installation was a breeze. Great Product. My only input is that there should be 4 x 1/4" spacers (included) for installation of the Striker Plates on the Maverick.
It is great Quality for the price. Installation was about a half hour and I like the way it looks. I would buy again.
Install was simple there are a whole bunch of videos on line. Simple set up and does exactly what I want it to do. When the tailgate close it is secure. Of course like any soft cover if someone really wants to destroy the cover and get in they can. I got this cover for my 2025 Tundra and it is beautiful on this truck. No issues with sound or rattles or moisture getting in. We havenβt had any serious downpours but drizzle has not made it through any of the edges or corners. I am not expecting the cover to be waterproof but so far nothing has got through. Really glad I got this cover.
Great Tonneau cover!
This product is much better that the foldable hard cover. I order the hard cover from here and had for about 9 months and than it started falling apart I had to throw it away. This one is a tighter fit and have had no water get into my bed.

This is a great cover. When I received it and installed it, it had a broken latch cable. Extang was easy to contact and their customer service was easy to reach and were understanding. After sending them the information they need, they immediately said they would ship a replacement. That has been over a month and I have not received the replacement or heard anything from them. This is unexceptionable. I would have given 5 stars, but it has been over a month and still can't use the cover.
I have a 2014 Silverado and the tailgate latch brackets had to be shifted towards the tailgate more than the slotted bracket would allow. I had to drill holes on both sides in order for the latches to work properly.
My title is perhaps a bit to tongue in cheek, but I feel this cover is βover engineeredβ and not in a good way. The tarp material has held up well and continues to look good. That is a quite important. However, the latching mechanism is just to complicated and doesnβt work very well. First off, the metal cable that extends between the left and right sides stretches and requires readjusting periodically, because as the cable stretches, you canβt pull open the clips to release the latches. This is not a big deal, but the simpler spring loaded handles on each side donβt require this AND they actually latch better. Secondly and more importantly, the latches lack much adjustment for position and as I drive around, one of them enviably works free and the trap edge lifts and begins to flap. I am constantly banging the edges back down to snap back into place. When latched, they work well andβ¦
Cover does a pretty good job, it leaks a bit in the rain, I might have to tighten it more. Out of the box it was missing a piece and the cover would not latch. The clips were 6 inches from the latches. Had to remove and redrill holes for the latch to make it fit. Works good now
The cover was relatively easy to install (once I received all of the parts, the brackets were missing, called Extang and they were sent the next day). Once installed the cover feels very secure, no lifting or wobbling. After a couple of hard rains there was no water in the bed at all. The only aspect I am not a fan of is the twist mechanism to unlatch the cover. Tightening the wire to keep it from slipping is a bit of a challenge since it is suspended and not fastened to anything. Overall this is a great cover and very happy with the purchase.

Overall experience was pretty good. Fast shipping but not infomative shipping (tracking), on my first order. A blemish was addressed fairly. The install, better when its warmer probably. Overall I love it!
Latch brackets on 2015 f350 long bed ,which are probably the same on other ford models, need redesign to provide more positive latching. Spent alot of time trying to reposition these so that it catches the cover securely. Boys u can do better. Also the shipping packaging is horrible. First unit came with bottom blown out due to the skimpy box tape abraided through and damage to product and missing parts. Sent it back to only receive another blown out bottom, but not as bad. Forced to use this one due to pending trip. Mfg overnighted parts to make things work, kudos to them. All this could have been avoided by sturdier packaging tape and fasteners.
The install on my Ford Ranger started out a bit difficult because of my bed liner. I was unable to use the supplied nuts for the brackets because they were so tough to get started and not enough room for wrench to tighten them so I used the bolts and a nut and lock washers. Once I figured out the first bracket the rest of the install went fast and smooth. Nice fit, after install took 350 mile highway trip, had torrential rain storm and 5 inches of snow. Cover passed with flying colors. Even went through auto car wash , no issues.
Need the parts and tools to attach the back to the bed of our Chev 3500 Silverado. We are now in Arizona and just got the truck to mount it
Bought the Extang Trifecta ALX soft for my 2024 Tacoma and it looks great, seems well made and the instructions are easy to follow. My only issue is that it seems about an inch too short. The cab end seal falls in towards the middle and the flanged seal at the tailgate doesnβt quite hit where the instructions say it should. All this results in water getting in the bed.
The cover looks great and the single latch release is awesome. Installation was easy and only took about half an hour. The only drawback is there is a large gap between bows so when it is windy the fabric caves in between the bows and acts like a wind brake. Fuel mileage suffers because of this.

Had to cut a corner of one of the mounting brackets to fit around curves in bed of truck. (mounting bracket flat, bed of truck bulges out slightly). Fits well otherwise. Looks good on the truck! I recommend.
