Features

  • Two-Layer RTxVinyl: The tarp is RTxVinyl, a two-layer, 40-grade vinyl with a vinyl-grain finish. Extang says it engineered the material for trucks instead of using the marine-grade vinyl some brands fit.
  • MegaBows and Dual-Pivot Hinges: Extang says its MegaBows are exclusive to it and give the tarp more support, so rain, hail or snow is less likely to make it sag. Hinges that pivot at two points take strain off each fold and reduce wear.
  • Clamp-On Install: It comes out of the box fully assembled. Set it on the bed and tighten the clamps by hand: no drilling and no separate support rails. Extang rates the job Level 1, under an hour.
  • One-Motion Handle: A spring-loaded handle at the tail opens and closes the cover in a single motion. Extang pitches it against the multi-step clamps and latches it sees on cheaper covers.
  • Nested, Puncture-Resistant Hardware: The clamps and fittings sit tucked into the support bows instead of standing proud of them, so they don't dig into the vinyl as you fold and unfold the cover. Extang calls it a puncture-proof design.
  • Tested for Extremes: Extang tested the e-Series from Alaska to Florida, in temperatures from -40°F to 180°F and humidity from 0 to 95 percent. A double-fin seal at the tailgate helps keep water out of the bed.

Description & Fitment

The Extang Trifecta e-Series Soft Folding Tonneau Cover (77825) fits the 2006-2014 Honda Ridgeline with the 5' bed. It is a soft tri-fold cover with a two-layer RTxVinyl top supported by MegaBows and dual-pivot hinges. A one-motion spring-loaded handle opens and latches it, and it folds forward for about two thirds of the bed. It clamps on with nested, puncture-resistant hardware, and Extang backs it with a five-year limited warranty.

Not for: other bed lengths or truck generations; each has its own Trifecta e-Series part.

About Extang

Extang is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Trifecta e-Series is its soft tri-fold cover with a two-layer RTxVinyl tarp, designed, engineered and tested in the USA according to Extang; Extang publishes a truck-specific install sheet for each version.

Extang also makes the Trifecta 2.0 and the canvas-topped Trifecta Signature 2.0 soft tri-folds.

Warranty note. Extang's 5-year limited warranty applies to the original purchaser, with warranty registration on file or a detailed, dated receipt. Keep your order confirmation from us, and contact us for warranty claims and registration help.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit my 2006-2014 Honda Ridgeline?

Yes, if it has the 5' bed. Measure inside the bed floor from the bulkhead to the inside of the closed tailgate and compare it with the 5' label. Not sure? Send us your VIN and we'll confirm.

How do I measure my bed?

Measure inside the bed floor from the bulkhead to the inside of the closed tailgate. Extang lists this bed as 5'. Truck makers often round their bed names, so compare the measurement, not the name.

How do I open and close it?

Pull the spring-loaded handle at the tail to release the rear clamps, then fold the cover toward the cab. To close it, unfold it with the tailgate open, then slide each rear clamp out and pull it down under the flange. It takes one motion at the handle.

Will it keep rain and snow out of the bed?

It is built to. A double-fin seal sits at the tailgate, and Extang's MegaBows help stop the tarp sagging under rain, hail or snow. Like every soft folding cover it resists weather rather than being watertight. Brush snow and ice off before you open it; Extang's warranty requires that.

Can I drive with it folded open?

Yes. Stow the rear clamps in the rail, fold the cover all the way to the cab and fasten both buckle straps with the tethers attached; about two thirds of the bed is then open. Never drive with it partly folded.

How long does it take to install?

Extang rates it Level 1, under an hour. The cover arrives assembled; you set it on the bed, line it up and tighten the clamps by hand. No drilling and no separate rails. Some trucks (2024 and newer Tacoma, 2024 and newer Ranger) add brackets, and their sheets list the tools.

What's involvedCover sets on the bed and clamps at the cab and rear, no drilling or support rails
ToolsThe clamps tighten by hand

Here's the short version. Follow Extang's install sheet (below) for your truck's exact clamp positions and hardware.

  1. Check the bed caps. If a plastic bed-rail cap reaches below the sheet-metal flange, trim it back so each clamp sits on bare metal. Extang flags 2004-2014 and 2021 F-150s and 2009-2019 Rams as the usual cases. Never cut or scrape the bed itself.
  2. Position the cover. Set the assembled cover over the cab end of the bed, unfold it and adjust it until it lines up at the cab and the tailgate, then fold it back up without letting it shift.
  3. Tighten the cab clamps. Put each cab clamp under the metal bed flange, not the bedliner lip or a rail cap, and turn it by hand until it touches, then two more turns. No wrench, and don't overtighten.
  4. Close it and hook the rear clamps. With the tailgate open, unfold the cover all the way. Push each rear clamp outward until it meets the bed wall, then pull it down so it catches beneath the lower edge of the metal flange, both sides.
  5. Attach the tethers. Open the cover. On plain metal flanges, clamp each tether (it hangs from the cover bow) to the flange and tighten the knob. On a bed with factory cargo rails, slide the supplied block into each rail, run the knob through its lock washer and bracket into the block, move it up to the front bow and tighten. Both sides.
  6. Check it after a week. After your first week on the road, re-tighten the cab clamps and the tethers, then check them now and then. To drive open, stow the rear clamps in the rail before folding the second section, fold it to the cab and buckle both straps tight.

Warranty, shipping & returns

  • Warranty

Extang covers the Trifecta e-Series against defects in materials or workmanship for five years from the original date of purchase: five years on the hard parts and five years on the fabric.
    • What's covered: all hardware that comes with the cover, including the rails, clamps and bows, plus the tarp.
    • A defective cover, tarp or hardware part is repaired or replaced, at Extang's choice; Extang may substitute a newer model of similar form and function, or offer a warranty discount on a full replacement.
    • For the first purchaser only, not transferable; proof of purchase may be needed. Register the cover with Extang, or keep a detailed, dated receipt; contact us for registration help.
    • To keep it valid: clean with mild automotive soap and water, and use only water-based vinyl conditioners (silicone or petroleum products can crack and shrink the vinyl); drive with all four clamps fastened, or fully folded with both buckle straps and both tethers attached; never drive with it partly open; clear snow, ice and debris before opening; stow the rear clamps before folding; re-check the cab clamps after the first week; take the cover off before the truck is towed backwards.
    • Claims: get a return authorization number from Extang first. Extang may ask for the part back, postage prepaid, and shipping charges apply to any repair or replacement.
    • Not covered: damage from accidents, neglect, unforeseeable use, improper installation or servicing, or anything else that is not a defect in materials or workmanship.
