Features

  • Cast-Iron Construction: Every FR300V pump has a cast-iron housing around an iron composite rotor with carbon composite vanes. A built-in check valve that relieves pressure and an automatic bypass are part of the casting, so the pump is ready for years of bulk diesel work on a skid tank or fuel island.
  • Fits 2" Tank Bungs: The supplied adapter threads into a 2" tank bung and holds a 1-1/4" suction pipe, with a 1/4" side port ready for an anti-siphon line. For a concrete fuel island, Fill-Rite offers the FRPA125 pedestal kit instead.
  • Lockable Nozzle Hook: Turn the pump off, rest the nozzle in its boot, and a padlock through the nozzle rest and the nozzle handle keeps the nozzle from being lifted out. It is a simple way to stop fuel walking off a job site at night.
  • Up to 35 GPM: Fill-Rite rates the FR310 models at up to 35 GPM (132 LPM) through a 1" outlet, enough to fill big equipment and service trucks quickly. Metered kits, export versions and the FR300VN carry their own flow numbers, listed on each product.
  • 115/230V Dual Voltage: A selector switch on the end of the motor sets the pump for 115V or 230V AC; it leaves the factory on 115V. The FR310, FR311 and FR319 models use a 3/4 HP motor with thermal overload protection and a 30 minute duty cycle.
  • Diesel and Kerosene: Fill-Rite's FR300 product pages list diesel, kerosene and biodiesel blends up to B20. The manual adds mineral spirits, Stoddard solvents and heptane, and allows B21 to B100 once the KIT300BD seal kit is fitted. Water, drinkable fluids and aircraft fueling are ruled out.

Description & Fitment

The FR300VN is listed as a 20 GPM high-flow FR300 pump for 115/230V AC at 50/60 Hz, with a 1" discharge and no accessories. It shares the FR300V Series cast-iron body, voltage selector, thermal overload protection and 2" bung adapter mount, so you add the suction pipe, hose and nozzle that suit your tank.

Fitment & Compatibility

Check your setup: a vented tank with a 2" bung, your own 1-1/4" suction pipe, 1" hose and nozzle, and a 115V or 230V circuit. Fill-Rite has no current product page for the FR300VN; for its 35 GPM pump-only model see the FR310VN.

Not for: water or any fluid meant for drinking and fueling aircraft (Fill-Rite's manual rules both out), plus gasoline, DEF or any other fluid Fill-Rite does not list for this pump.

About Fill-Rite

FILL-RITE.

Frequently Asked Questions

What flow does the FR300VN deliver?

It is listed at 20 GPM. Fill-Rite's FR310 models are the 35 GPM (132 LPM) versions of this pump.

Does it come with a hose or nozzle?

No. The FR300VN is sold with no accessories, so plan on your own hose, nozzle and suction pipe.

Does it run on 115V or 230V?

Either. Flip the voltage selector on the end of the pump to match your supply; it ships set to 115V. Fill-Rite lists the draw at 9.8 A on 115V and 4.9 A on 230V at 60 Hz, or 11.4 A and 5.7 A at 50 Hz. Its manual calls for a licensed electrician, rigid conduit with sealed fittings, and a connected ground wire.

Can it run continuously?

No. The motor is rated for a 30 minute duty cycle and has thermal overload protection. If it trips, switch the pump off: Fill-Rite warns that a cooled motor restarts without warning when the power is still on.

How is it mounted?

On a skid tank it threads onto the supplied 2" bung adapter, with a 1-1/4" suction pipe cut to stop at least 3" above the tank floor. On a concrete island Fill-Rite uses its FRPA125 pedestal kit. Either way the tank must be vented.

Do I need an anti-siphon device?

Fill-Rite recommends one. The bung adapter has a 1/4" NPT port that opens into the tank's vapor space; the KIT700AS kit runs a line from the pump outlet back to it on tank-top installs, and KIT700AVB covers other layouts. Both are sold separately.

TypeThreads onto a 2" tank bung through the supplied bung adapter (skid tank) or onto an FRPA125 island pedestal, then hard-wired to 115V or 230V AC (Fill-Rite 300 Series manual)
ToolsNot printed in Fill-Rite's manualit calls for 1-1/4" suction pipe, thread sealant suited to the fluid and anti-seize compound

Here's the short version. Follow Fill-Rite's manual (below) for the full procedure, wiring and safety steps.

  1. Cut 1-1/4" suction pipe so it ends at least 3" above the tank floor once the pump is mounted.
  2. Seal the pipe threads with a sealant suited to the fluid and thread the pipe up into the bung adapter; the end marked PUMP SIDE is the top.
  3. Coat the adapter's outer threads with anti-seize compound and thread the adapter and pipe into the tank bung until air and fluid tight.
  4. Seal and thread the pump onto the adapter. On a concrete island use the FRPA125 pedestal kit with the pipe 32-1/2" above the slab instead.
  5. Run an anti-siphon line (KIT700AS or KIT700AVB) from the adapter's 1/4" NPT port with a steady slope to the vapor space, and mount the nozzle boot on its lower two holes.
  6. Have a licensed electrician wire it through the 1/2" NPT conduit opening with the ground connected, then set the voltage selector (factory 115V).

Warranty, shipping & returns

  • Lifetime Tiered limited warranty

Fill-Rite covers the FR300V Series pump with its tiered Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in material and workmanship:
    • Lifetime: pump castings, such as the pump and motor housings, motor frame, inlet flange and bung adapter, junction box cover, switch plate and end bells. Paint and corrosion issues are excluded.
    • 5 years: the motor and its components, such as magnets, armature, brushes, thermal protector, lead wires and circuit boards.
    • 2 years: wear parts, such as seals, gaskets, O-rings, springs, vanes, rotor and rotor cover, bypass cap, nozzle boot, switch parts and paint adhesion. Paint wear from use, weather or chemicals is excluded.
    • 1 year: accessories packed with the pump, such as hoses, nozzles, suction pipes, cables and connectors, elbows and swivels.
    • On metered kits the meter follows Fill-Rite's meter terms instead (900 Series and TT Series): 2 years on all meter components.
    • Coverage runs from the date of sale, or the delivery date if that is later, and only the original purchaser is covered; it does not transfer to a later owner.
    • It applies to products bought from Fill-Rite or a seller Fill-Rite authorizes in the United States or Canada, and Fill-Rite needs proof of purchase with a claim. Without proof of purchase or delivery, Fill-Rite starts the clock at the date code on the product.
    • Small items such as fasteners, washers, labels, nameplates, rivets, emblems, packaging, thread tape, wire nuts and paperwork are not covered.
    • It does not cover misuse, neglect, accident, negligence, improper installation or maintenance, or repairs done by anyone other than Fill-Rite or its authorized representative.
    • Fill-Rite's remedy is a replacement, or a refund of the price paid when a replacement or repair is not practical. Its liability is capped at the purchase price and it excludes incidental and consequential damages where the law allows. Implied warranties are limited to the length of this warranty.
    • Please do not send the product back on your own: if Fill-Rite asks for a return, it issues a return number and pays the freight.
To start a claim, contact us with your order number and a short description of the problem and we will take it to Fill-Rite with you.
