Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

Is a winch included?

No. The winch plate kit carries a recovery winch of up to 9,500 lb, but the winch itself is sold separately, and the kit is a separate part from the StepGuard.

What happens to the step bar when I add the winch plate?

The winch plate kit replaces the step bar, converting the StepGuard into a winch guard.

Will it work with my front sensors and cruise control?

Not on every truck. The StepGuard may interfere with forward-facing sensors, and some versions are not compatible with active park assist, adaptive cruise control or certain driver alert or safety packages. The fit notes for your truck list each limit.

Do I need to cut anything?

On several applications, yes: Go Rhino calls for cutting factory plastic components, and some trucks need the tow hooks removed. The guide for your part number shows exactly what is involved.

How do I care for the finish?

Wash the guard with a gentle car wash soap and water, dry it fully, and protect the finish now and then with a non-abrasive automotive wax such as pure carnauba. Go Rhino's care notes warn against abrasive cleaners, polishing compounds and harsh bug and tar removers, which scratch the finish or cause it to fail.

What warranty comes with the 3100 Series?

Go Rhino's 5-year limited warranty on black finishes, covering defects in material and workmanship. Claims need the original invoice and photos.
