Both start soft and firm up as the spring compresses. A triple rate spring adds a third stage, so the change in feel is more gradual. ICON chooses the design for each vehicle, and the part title names it.
Do I need new shocks with these springs?
ICON designs these springs as part of its suspension systems. Check the fitment notes for your part, and match the shocks to the lift height you choose.
Will I need an alignment?
Lifting the front of a vehicle changes its alignment, and ICON calls for an alignment after many of its front spring installs. The Installation section of each part shows what ICON asks for.

Here's the short version. Follow ICON's install sheet (below) for your vehicle's exact steps and torque values.
- Place vehicle in park on a level surface. Engage parking brake. Lift rear of vehicle and place jack stands under the manufacturer recommended locations. Remove the rear wheels and tires. NEVER WORK UNDER AN UNSUPPORTED VEHICLE.
- Take a picture of how the coilover is installed and the orientation of the spring. The new spring will be installed the same way. A photo for reference can help along the way.
- Remove the rear shock. A 1/2" 12-point socket will be needed for the upper mount and a 27mm wrench/socket for the axle side mount. If a reservoir shock, a 5/16" nut driver can be used to remove the reservoir.
- Loosen the adjuster nut set screw with a 5/32" hex key and move the adjuster nut to the lowest setting.
- Install the new spring with the narrower end near the top of the shock as it sits in the vehicle. (Shaft up.) The narrow end is designed to clear the frame.
- Reinstall the coilover onto the vehicle. Repeat steps on opposite side.

- ICON parts must go on as the complete kit shown in ICON's application guide. Swapping out or leaving off a required part voids the warranty.
- ICON repairs or replaces a defective part, at its discretion. Removal, reinstallation, freight and incidental or consequential costs are not covered, and parts that wear in normal use are not treated as defective.
- Not covered: finish (including finish marks from shipping), alterations or modifications, installation that departs from ICON's instructions, racing use, police, taxi, government or commercial vehicles, and sales outside the United States and Canada.
- To claim, contact us first with your order number and a short description of the problem. We open the claim with ICON for you, and your Prestige Truck receipt is the proof of purchase ICON asks for.
