How is a Growler board different from a tube step?

Instead of a round bar with step pads, the Growler Fleet is a flat 7" wide aluminum board with louvered tread along its whole length, so you can step anywhere on it.

Will it suit a lifted truck?

N-Fab pitches the Growler Fleet for factory-height and lifted pickups alike. The brackets are made for your cab, so check the fitment table for your exact truck.

Is there a matching hitch step?

Yes. N-Fab's Growler Hitch Step uses the same louvered tread on a 19" by 7" aluminum step that slides into a 2" receiver.

Do they come as a pair?

Yes. Each part number includes the driver-side and passenger-side boards, the brackets for that cab and the mounting hardware.

Installation

Here's the short version. Follow N-Fab's install sheet (below) for your vehicle's exact steps.

  1. Prep the mounting points. Remove all 8mm flange nuts from the 8mm factory threaded studs to remove the OE running boards. Repeat for the passenger side.
  2. Fit the brackets. Install three of the supplied mounting brackets (both sides) to the factory locations and loosely fasten with the M8 flanged nuts.
  3. Mount the brackets. Set running board along the top of the two brackets and center along the cab.
  4. Fit the clips. Insert the supplied threaded brackets inside the running board lip over the top of each bracket.
  5. Continue. With the supplied 3/8" x 1" hex bolts, secure each mounting location and leave loose. After final adjustment, tighten all running board threaded mounts.
  6. Then. Next, adjust frame brackets so the running board is level with body of the vehicle and tighten all factory-mounting locations. Repeat the steps above for passenger side.

Love the look and feel of these

These are just what I have been looking for. Had nerf bars for years and issue was always grip and slip, especially in wet and freezing conditions. And others weren't lying, easiest install possible. 12 nuts, 12 bolts, and you're done. Could easily install in under an hour if you have the right tools ready.

Easy 1/2 hour project to install in driveway, literally a 13mm socket is all you need. Good solid running boards, My second set.
