- 2" Tube, High and Tight: The 2" main tube hugs the rocker panel and keeps the drop step tucked close to the body, so the bar gives up little ground clearance.
- 4.75" Drop Step: Each drop step is 4.75" wide, which N-Fab says gives more room for a boot than its standard hoop step, and it sits below the bar for a lower first step.
- Dimpled Non-Slip Plate: A raised, dimpled plate on each step helps a sole bite and lets dirt, mud and snow fall away.
- 300 lb Per Step: N-Fab rates each step for up to 300 lb, and each side for up to 600 lb.
- Textured Black Powder Coat: Textured black powder coat over mild steel keeps corrosion off; N-Fab warrants that finish for 5 years.
- Built for Your Truck: Each order is one bar for each side of the vehicle, with the brackets and hardware for its vehicle. Most bolt up with no drilling; the few sheets that need a hole say so, and so does your listing's install section.

Made for the new-body 2019-2026 Ram 1500 Quad Cab, with the 5'7" or 6'4" bed. Its shorter rear doors get a full RS step, the same as the fronts. The textured black bar runs cab length, and the kit ships with brackets and hardware made for this cab. Ram 1500 Classic Quad Cab owners need 209417322 instead.

How is the RS different from the standard Nerf Step?
The RS uses a slimmer 2" main tube mounted close to the rocker and a wider 4.75" drop step with a dimpled plate. N-Fab built it to hold onto ground clearance while giving you a bigger step.
Is it a cab-length bar?
Yes. N-Fab lists the Nerf Step RS as cab length, with a drop step at each door.
Do they come as a pair?
Yes. Each part number is one bar for each side of the truck, with the hardware kit for its vehicle.
Will salted winter roads hurt the finish?

Questionable durability
The light gauge metal on the step treads doesn’t seem like it will last very long. I anticipate replacing these steps within the next couple years due to them rusting out. You get what you pay for obviously. Also the steps reduce ground clearance quite a bit. They do look good though.

Very, very nice product. Definitely a two-person install. One tip/idea I would add. Add a tool to popoff the GM install tabs where the bars attached to. I added about an extra hour to the install due to snapping off the tops of the tabs. Had to drill, poke, & dig out the broken tabs. Got very frustrated there for a while.

I decided to switch out my OEM rock guards for these steps so my son could get into my Wrangler since he can’t reach with with lift and 35’s on. The look good and seem like pretty good quality but the rear step is kinda useless when the rear door open, at least for an adult. Not sure I’ll be keeping them.

NFab Nerf RS Sierra 2500
Recently installed these on my 2013 Sierra 2500 and they look awesome. The installation was OK, the instructions had the left/right side reference images reversed so that took a minute of head scratching to resolve. Otherwise the installation process was fine although some higher grade bolts would have been nice to see. My main complaint about these, which is likely vehicle-specific, is that they mount to the inner rocker using clip-on nuts. The nuts themselves don't inspire a ton of confidence but are probably fine. The bigger issue is that the inner rocker structure is just ~20ga sheetmetal which results in a LOT of flex when putting weight on the steps. I was able to just pull down on the step while laying under the truck and watch the inner rocker flex/deflect. When I actually put my full weight (~230lbs) on the step getting in or out there is very noticeable deflection. Moral of…

So I just got my new running boards. Right off….it took me a while to figure out what brackets went where, They now have changed the front bracket from two bolts to one…..I don’t like that, I have my doubts as to how much weight the one bolt can handle. They should have left well enough alone

Loves rust
Bought these 2 1/2 years ago. Looked great when first put on. I didn’t even know they had a warranty. Last year they started rusting pretty bad. I just took them off, used a wire wheel on drill to take rust off. Found rust under paint that wasn’t even bubbled up. I’m now trying to put a rust encapsulator on it to stop the rusting. Then will cover with bed liner spray. So disappointed. Guess I should have bought aluminum ones..

The running boards look great on my vehicle but within 6 months the boards are showing rust. This should not be because have only been driving on hiway no off road usage. Not a good quality paint job on the running boards.

Rusting in under a month
I don't want my 2 star rating to be taken as if these steps are garbage- they're not. They arrived quick, packaged great, and fit perfect on my '22 Ram 1500 Bighorn Crew Cab. They look great on the truck and the width of the steps are great. However, when you're selling a product that is designed to be outdoors, it shouldn't be rusting in less than 1 month- or even a year for that matter. I'm just not understanding how it can be so difficult to use a quality paint and quality sealant. The rust is in the same spots on both bars - right where the foot panel/tread meets the step portion of the bar - so 4 areas of rust. Aside from the rust issue, I'd give 5 stars for the reasons in my 1st paragraph. Worth noting, I did NOT contact customer service about this issue, as I just didn't see what they'd be able to do to remedy.

Good step for the money
These steps have been good, install was pretty simple. My holes didn’t line up 100% so I ended up lining up what could and used self tappers just for a little added security. All in all they look great and do the job well. No flex or creaking. I wish they were packaged a little better as one of my plastic end caps was cracked to the point that it wasn’t useable so it was tossed. All in all though, solid steps for the money
