Pace Edwards JackRabbit Manual Retractable Tonneau Cover for 2019-2026 Ram 1500 (5'7" Bed, without RamBox or Multifunction Tailgate / Cover with Standard Rails)
Built by Pace Edwards around rigid aluminum panels and a bonded ArmorTek skin, the JackRabbit retracts by hand into a canister at the bulkhead. It can be key locked closed, fully open or at any 12" stop between, which helps with taller loads. Order part JRDA24A55 for a 2019-2026 Ram 1500 with the 5'7" bed (67.4" measured) and no RamBox or Multifunction Tailgate.
What's Included:
JackRabbit retractable cover with its front canister
Standard mounting rails
Key-lockable twist lock, fitted to the cover
Drain tubes
Mounting clamps and hardware
Installation instructions
Explorer Rails for overhead racks and crossbars are a separate version of this cover and are not part of this standard-rail kit.
Features
Aluminum Deck, ArmorTek Skin Rigid aluminum panels carry the load, and ArmorTek, a padded polymer overlay bonded to the metal, resists the weather and gives the deck a clean soft-top look.
Lock Positions Every 12" The deck latches at 12" steps along the rails, so a tall load can stand in the open rear of the bed while the front stays covered. The cover can be key locked at any of those positions.
Twist Lock and Full-Width Handle A key-lockable twist lock releases the deck without lowering the tailgate first, and the handle built into the top of the cover runs its full width.
Spring-Assisted Retraction Pace Edwards' Continuous Tension Spring draws the deck smoothly into the canister with very little effort, and a pull strap brings it back to the tailgate. The canister sits at the front of the bed, so the cover opens nearly the full bed rather than every inch of it.
Weather Resistant, Not Waterproof A seal over the tailgate and the mounting rails steer water into the canister, where drain tubes carry it out of the bed. The cover is weather resistant, not waterproof, and on some trucks a hole has to be drilled to route the drain tubes.
Low Profile, Hitch Friendly The deck sits low over the bed rails, and Pace Edwards lists the JackRabbit as compatible with most 5th-wheel hitches.
Clamp-On Standard Rails This version rides on standard rails that clamp to the bed without drilling. Owners who plan to mount an overhead rack or crossbars should look at the JackRabbit on Explorer Rails, which Pace Edwards recommends for that job.

Installation
Type: clamp-on rails, no drilling of the bed rails on most applications (the Stepside version is drilled) · Drain tubes: routed out of the bed, a drilled hole on some trucks · Bedliner: over-the-rail liners usually need trimming
This cover mounts on rails that clamp to the bed, so the truck's bed rails are not drilled, and Pace Edwards supplies the clamps, hardware and instructions for this application. The drain tubes that carry water out of the canister have to be routed out of the bed, and on some trucks that takes a drilled hole. The rails lay flat on the bed sill, so an over-the-rail bedliner usually needs the part covering the sill trimmed or removed, and a notch for the canister at the front of the bed may need to come out as well.
This installation film shows the same cover going onto a 2019-2026 Ram 1500. The steps match your truck's generation; the bed length in the film may differ from yours.
Warranty. Pace Edwards backs the JackRabbit with a five-year limited warranty that starts on the date of purchase. It covers ArmorTek deck delamination, a failed Continuous Tension Spring, every lock assembly, and all hardware and components. Not covered: normal wear and tear such as fading or discoloration, water that gets in at any point and the damage it causes, added parts and accessories, and acts of nature. Coverage is void after lubrication other than what the owner or installation manual prescribes, misuse, negligence or accident, improper installation, cargo that is not secured, or an accessory installed without Pace Edwards' written permission that interferes with the cover. Pace Edwards repairs or replaces a defective part at its discretion and does not cover consequential damage to the vehicle or other property. Shipping. The carrier and ship method are set by the size and weight of the carton when the order is placed. Inspect on delivery. Open the carton when it arrives and check the cover, rails and hardware before you start the install. Note any visible carton damage on the delivery receipt and photograph it, because damage reported later is much harder to claim.
Returns. Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. If an item arrives damaged, defective or wrong, return shipping is on us. See our Returns & Refunds Policy, or email support@prestigetruck.com with any question.
About Pace Edwards
Pace Edwards has built retractable truck bed covers since 1988, designed around security, straightforward operation and a streamlined look that keeps a pickup looking like a pickup. The JackRabbit carries a five-year limited warranty from the date of purchase.
The JackRabbit is the manual cover with an ArmorTek vinyl-over-aluminum deck and lock positions every 12". The Full Metal JackRabbit keeps the same twist lock and 12" positions on a double-walled, powder-coated aluminum deck, while the SwitchBlade and SwitchBlade Metal have a canister that lifts out for full bed access. Pace Edwards' manual covers are the JackRabbit, Full Metal JackRabbit, SwitchBlade, SwitchBlade Metal, UltraGroove and UltraGroove Metal, and the BedLocker and UltraGroove Electric add powered operation.
Pace Edwards builds its decks on aluminum, laminated with its padded ArmorTek overlay or finished in powder coat, and its manual covers retract on the company's own Continuous Tension Spring. Drain tubes carry water that reaches the canister out of the bed.

Soft-Top look, aluminum underneath
Rigid aluminum panels sit under a padded ArmorTek overlay bonded to the metal, which gives the JackRabbit the clean lines of a soft top over a solid deck. A key-lockable twist lock on top releases it without lowering the tailgate, and a handle built into the deck spans its full width.
Rolls away into the canister
Pace Edwards' Continuous Tension Spring keeps the deck under steady tension, so a light push sends it smoothly forward into the canister at the front of the bed. A pull strap brings it back over the bed when it is time to close up.

Load from the tailgate
The deck can stay closed and key locked over the bed while the tailgate drops for loading, and the twist lock releases the cover without lowering the tailgate when the whole bed is needed. Pace Edwards lists the cover as compatible with most 5th-wheel hitches.
Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers on specs, fit and support
Do I have to drill into my truck to install it?
Not for the rails on most applications: the JackRabbit clamps onto rails that sit on the bed sill, and Pace Edwards includes the clamps and hardware. The Stepside application (part JRC2576) is the exception, and Pace Edwards states that its rails are drilled to mount. The drain tubes do have to exit the bed, and on some trucks that means drilling a hole for them.
Will it keep rain and snow out of the bed?
It keeps most water out, but it is weather resistant rather than waterproof. A seal runs over the tailgate, and the rails channel water into the canister, where drain tubes carry it out. Pace Edwards' warranty excludes water intrusion, so keep anything that must stay dry in a sealed container.
Can I leave it partly open for tall cargo?
Yes. The cover latches at positions every 12" along the rails, so the front of the bed stays covered while a tall load stands in the open rear section. It can be key locked at each of those positions.
Will it work with my bedliner?
A drop-in liner that wraps over the bed rails usually has to be trimmed. The rails lay flat on the bed sill and the clamps grip the sill, so the part of the liner covering the sill is trimmed or removed, and a notch may be needed for the canister at the front of the bed. Where Pace Edwards lists a fit note for a truck, such as factory bed storage boxes or a factory rail system, it appears under Fit guidance and in the Notes column of the fitment table on that part's page.
Does it work with a 5th-wheel hitch?
Pace Edwards lists the JackRabbit as compatible with most 5th-wheel hitches. Check the height of your hitch against the retracted cover before ordering if it sits unusually tall.
Can I mount a rack or crossbars over it?
Pace Edwards recommends the standard rails on this version for trucks without an overhead rack. For a rack or crossbars, it recommends the JackRabbit on Explorer Rails, extruded aluminum rails that mount without drilling and suit a Pace Edwards rack or Thule and Yakima racks.
