Description & Fitment
This 5-button Bluetooth keypad gives the Retrax EQ electric tonneau cover a code-operated control on the outside of the cab. Enter your 5-digit code, then press 1/2 to open the cover or 9/0 to close it. It sticks to the outside of the driver-side pillar at the rear of the cab with an adhesive pad and pairs with the EQ's cabin module, which comes with the cover. Where the truck's locks are equipped and connected, the same keypad also locks and unlocks the doors.
Fitment & Compatibility
Fits: the Retrax EQ electric retractable tonneau cover. Retrax sells it as the EQ's optional Bluetooth controller, and it pairs with the cabin module that comes with the EQ, so it fits the trucks your EQ fits.
Not for: trucks without a Retrax EQ and its cabin module. The cabin module is not in the keypad box.

Will this work with my tonneau cover?
It is made for the Retrax EQ electric cover. It pairs with the EQ's cabin module, which Retrax includes with the cover, not with the keypad.
Where does the keypad go?
Retrax designs it for the outside of the driver-side pillar, at the rear of the cab. Clean the spot with an isopropyl alcohol-based solution, let it dry, peel the backing off the adhesive pad and press it on firmly for 60 seconds.
How do I open the cover with it?
Enter your 5-digit code, then press and release 1/2 to open. To close, enter the code and press 9/0.
Can it lock and unlock my truck?
Yes, where the truck's locks are equipped and connected: enter the code and press 3/4 to unlock, or hold 7/8 and 9/0 together to lock (locking needs no code). On a truck with a powered tailgate, 5/6 after the code operates the tailgate.
What if someone enters the wrong code?
After three wrong 5-digit codes the keypad goes into anti-scan lockout for one minute, with its unlock functions off; repeated failures lock it out for five minutes. The lock function still works during lockout.
What warranty does it have?
Retrax's keypad sheet gives it a 36-month limited warranty against defects in material or workmanship, for the original purchaser. Contact us for claims and registration help.
Installation
Here's the short version. Follow Retrax's keypad sheet (below) for the full programming, retry and personal-code steps.
- Prep the spot. The keypad goes on the outside of the driver-side pillar, at the rear of the cab. Clean the area with an isopropyl alcohol-based solution and let it dry completely.
- Stick it on. Peel the red plastic backing off the adhesive pad on the back of the keypad, place it and press firmly for 60 seconds.
- Put the cabin module in pairing mode. Unlock the truck with the factory remote, get in and close all doors. Then, within one minute: ignition on, open and close the door, press and hold the brake, open the door, release the brake.
- Enter configuration mode. Press 1/2, 3/4 and 9/0 on the keypad together for at least 2 seconds; the backlight flashes three times.
- Enter the master code. The backlight and green LED flash slowly twice, then turn off.
- Pair it. Within 20 seconds, press and hold 5/6 until the backlight flashes rapidly and the cabin module unlocks the truck. If pairing fails, Retrax's sheet gives a retry sequence.

Retrax's keypad sheet gives the EQ keypad a 36-month limited warranty: if it proves defective in material or workmanship under normal use within 36 months of the original purchase, Retrax repairs or replaces it with a new or reconditioned product, at its option, with no charge for parts or repair labor.- It covers the original purchaser only and is not transferable.
- Claims: contact us for claims and registration help. Retrax issues an RMA (authorization) number; the keypad then goes back with proof of coverage (such as the dated bill of sale), the authorization number and a description of the defect, transportation prepaid.
- Not covered: damage to the vehicle's electrical system, the cost of installing, removing or reinstalling the keypad, batteries, and damage from alteration, improper installation, mishandling, misuse, abuse, neglect, accident or a removed or defaced serial number/bar code label.
