Features

  • Complete A-pillar kit: Two pods, the vehicle brackets and the wiring arrive in one box, so the setup looks planned rather than pieced together.
  • Vehicle-specific brackets: The brackets are made for one vehicle's A-pillars and use its own bolt points.
  • Harness and switch included: Each kit ships with a wiring harness and switch; the box list on the listing says whether it has a relay.
  • Stainless steel brackets: Rigid makes the brackets in stainless steel with a powder coat rated for UV and abrasion.
  • Pod choice: Pick the pod that suits your driving: D-SS side-shooters, D-XL cubes, D-Series or round 360-Series, depending on the kit.
  • Light covers: Rigid adds black and amber covers to its D-SS and 360-Series drive kits, so the pods can stay covered when they aren't in use.

Description & Fitment

The Rigid D-XL Spot A-Pillar Kit puts a pair of D-XL pods on vehicle-specific stainless steel brackets at the base of the windshield on the 2021-2025 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban and GMC Yukon. It is for owners who want long-throw spot lighting mounted at the windshield line. The D-XL is Rigid's long-throw cube pod, and its spot lens throws a tight beam a long way ahead at 7,128 raw lumens on 68 watts. A relay harness with switch, vibration isolators and mounting hardware are included, and the install includes a trimming step.

Not for: Years outside the listed range, which use a different body and a different Rigid part. Same vehicle, other lights: 46794 (D-SS pods, spot); 46796 (4" 360-Series pods, spot). Other vehicles in this range use their own part numbers (46705, 46703, 46707, 46710, 46711, 46759, 46760, 46761, 46762, 46766, and more). Road use: Rigid lists no SAE beam for these lights, so they are for off-road use only.

About Rigid Industries

RIGID
INDUSTRIES.

Rigid Industries started in Gilbert, Arizona in 2006 as a seller of powersports parts. Its engineers decided halogen and HID lamps were holding drivers back and went after a better light, and the company credits that work with its patented Hybrid Optical System and with launching the first LED light bar.

Rigid has since built lighting with OEM partners including Toyota, Ford and Polaris, and it says its lights are made to pass demanding OEM test standards. The range now runs from compact pods and round lights to curved and straight light bars, SAE street-legal lights and vehicle kits. Rigid is part of Clarience Technologies, a group of vehicle lighting, vision and safety brands.

Buying Rigid from Prestige Truck. We are an authorized Rigid dealer, and every Rigid light we sell is new, genuine Rigid product. Rigid's warranty protects the original buyer with proof of purchase and does not extend to lights bought from unauthorized third-party marketplace sellers, so keep your Prestige Truck order receipt with your records.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which vehicles does it fit?

The 2021-2025 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban and 2021-2025 GMC Yukon. Other years use a different Rigid part.

How hard is the install?

Rigid's sheet includes a trimming step, and puts the time at about 1.5 hours, not counting wiring. Rigid recommends a professional installation; the steps are in the Installation tab.

Is everything in one box?

For the kits on these pages, yes: lights, vehicle brackets and mounting hardware ship together, and most include a harness and switch. Each listing's box list says exactly what comes with it.

Are these kits street legal?

Only where Rigid lists an SAE beam. Rigid's warranty terms note that some of its lights are made for off-road use only, so treat any pod without an SAE rating as off-road equipment and keep it off on public roads.

Does the install need cutting or drilling?

It depends on the kit. Many bolt to factory points, while Rigid's sheets for some kits call for trimming a cowl cap or grille wall, and wiring a switch usually means a 3/4" hole. Read the sheet linked on your kit's page before you start.

How should I clean the lens?

With mild soap and water or mineral spirits. Rigid's polycarbonate lenses can be damaged by ammonia-based cleaners and by road salt left on them, and that damage isn't covered, so avoid glass cleaners and automatic car washes and rinse salt off with fresh water.

Installation

Install time About 1.5 hours, not counting wiring
Recommended installationProfessional
What's involvedCowl end pieces come off, mounts bolt to the hood hinge on each side and the end caps are trimmed
Tools
  • 13mm socket
  • 1/4" ratchet
  • 13mm wrench
  • T30 Torx
  • 4mm hex wrench
  • Dremel with cutoff disc

Here's the short version. Follow Rigid's install sheet (below) for the exact positions, wiring and hardware.

  1. Cut the power first. Disconnect any power source connected to the vehicle before you touch fuses or wiring.
  2. Prep. Check the parts, stick the silicone pads on the mounts, tape the work area and remove both cowl end pieces (the passenger side has a trim clip).
  3. Driver side. Remove the hinge bolt (13mm) and the Torx bolt (T30), and start the spacer on the supplied M8 flange bolt, leaving room for the mount.
  4. Drop the mount in. Lower it between hinge and fender onto the bolt, swap the factory screw for the supplied button head, and tighten both bolts alternately so it sits flush.
  5. Other side and end caps. Repeat on the passenger side, trim each cowl end cap about 1/8" outside where it meets the mount or wiring with the cutoff wheel, refit the caps and wire the lights.

Warranty, shipping & returns

  • Warranty

Rigid backs this light with its Limited Lifetime Warranty, which protects the original buyer against manufacturing defects as long as you can show proof of purchase.
    • Rigid sets time limits inside that cover: 5 years when the light is used in commercial, marine or industrial work (heavy-duty settings such as agriculture, mining or manufacturing), and 1 year on powder coating and lenses.
    • If Rigid confirms a defect, it replaces the item, refunds it or issues store credit, at its discretion. Rigid may ask for photos or video before it approves a claim.
    • Not covered: normal maintenance, service or adjustment; opening the light or breaking its water-tight seal, such as taking off the bezel or its screws (unless the light is built for lens swaps); accidents, alteration, misuse, neglect, abuse, vandalism or physical damage; repairs or changes made by anyone other than Rigid; improper installation, including electrical damage from it, or not following Rigid's instructions; use that goes against Rigid's warnings, labels or documentation; use with equipment or parts Rigid didn't make; fire, flood, lightning and other natural events; harsh road hazards, excessive heat and wear beyond normal; and damage caused by the delivering carrier.
    • Lens care: the polycarbonate lens can be damaged by ammonia-based cleaners and, over time, by road salt, and Rigid does not cover either. Clean it with mild soap and water or mineral spirits, rinse salt off with fresh water, and skip automatic car washes, whose soap may contain ammonia.
    • Rigid gives no other express or implied warranty, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, and is not liable for indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages. Rigid also states that some of its lights are built and sold only for off-road driving.
    • Rigid's warranty does not apply to products bought from unauthorized sellers on third-party marketplaces. To make a claim, contact us with your order number and photos of the problem, and we'll take it through Rigid's process with you.
