Description & Fitment
The TeraFlex 10" Front Sway Bar Quick Disconnect Kit suits a 1984-2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ or a 1993-1998 Grand Cherokee ZJ lifted 2" to 4". The upper link end runs a large polyurethane ball that TeraFlex says is quiet, durable and maintenance-free, and the lower end rides on a stainless-steel pin so the link comes off by hand. Off-road, the links unhook in moments and fold up clear, so the axle can flex freely. Connected for the street, the links take up sway bar load with no slack, which TeraFlex says sharpens lateral control and steering response over stock rubber bushings.

How is sway bar link length measured?
TeraFlex measures its sway bar link lengths center-to-center, from the middle of one mounting point to the middle of the other.
Installation
Here's the short version. Follow TeraFlex's install sheet (below) for your Jeep's exact steps and torque values.
- Remove the stock sway bar links and identify the left and right quick disconnects (the bolt head points away from the vehicle when fitted).
- Mount each quick disconnect with the round spacer ring on the threaded bracket bolt, grease zerk pointing down and away, and secure it with the flat washer and nut; tighten with a 3/4" wrench, using the pin for leverage (p2).
- Fit the stainless connecting stud in the lower mount hole vacated by the sway bar arm, threads pointing away from the vehicle, with lock washer, nut and Loctite.
- Slide the sway bar arm's polyurethane bushing onto the stud (WD-40 helps) and lock it with the washer and pin; connecting with the Jeep on the ground is easier, and never run with only one side connected (p1).
- Drill and bolt on the retention strap with a washer each side of its grommet, then mark, drill and screw on the strap hook so the disconnected bar can be secured (p4).
- If the kit's brake line relocators are used, bolt each bracket to the frame with the factory Torx bolt pointing down and attach the brake line to its lower holes with the 1/4" bolt and nut; grease the disconnects at least every 3,000 miles.

TeraFlex covers its sway bars and links for life against defects in materials and workmanship. Its warranty list names no term for sway bar mounts or the universal tube disconnect plate, so contact us before ordering one of those and we will confirm that coverage.- TeraFlex extends its limited warranty only to the consumer who first bought the product, and only on the vehicle the part was first installed on. It does not pass to a later owner.
- Coverage starts on the purchase date and does not restart if a part is repaired or replaced.
- For a covered defect, TeraFlex will either repair or replace the product (or the faulty part) free of charge or refund the purchase price, at its discretion, and it pays the freight to send a repaired or replacement part back to you.
- Not covered: damage from transportation, storage, improper use, skipped instructions or preventive maintenance, modifications, unauthorized repair, normal wear and tear, product finish, improper installation or maintenance, racing or competition, or accidents, abuse and neglect. Improper installation, poor maintenance, racing or competition use, and neglect or abuse void the warranty.
- Paint and powder coat finishes carry 90 days of defect coverage only, not wear from use.
- Claims: contact us first. Keep your proof of purchase or original invoice; removing the part from the vehicle and the inbound shipping are the owner's responsibility.
