The TeraFlex 26" Stainless Steel Braided Brake Line Kit gives a lifted 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ or LJ Unlimited brake lines longer than stock, sized to work with TeraFlex lift kits. Choose the front and rear set (4350400) or the rear line alone (4354210). TeraFlex says the braided lines are DOT approved and resist expansion, which keeps the pedal firm. About TeraFlex

TERAFLEX.

TeraFlex describes itself as a Jeep company at heart, started and staffed by people who drive them. It designs, engineers and builds suspension systems, shocks, axles and performance parts, with the Wrangler and Gladiator at the center of the range.

The company traces its roots to the 1950s and MEPCO (Military Equipment Parts Company), an early supplier of Jeep parts. TeraFlex Manufacturing followed in 1996 to build heavy-duty suspension for the TJ Wrangler, and today's catalog runs from full lift systems and the Falcon shock line to axles, steering and armor.

Authorized TeraFlex dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized TeraFlex dealer, so what we sell is new and genuine TeraFlex. In TeraFlex's words, its limited warranty extends "only to the consumer who originally purchased the product," so keep your receipt with your build records.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which kit do I need?

4350400 covers the front and rear lines; 4354210 is the rear line only.

Does the factory banjo bolt get reused?

TeraFlex's TJ instructions reuse the original banjo bolt with the new copper washers supplied in the kit.

Will I need to bleed the brakes?

Yes. Replacing brake lines opens the hydraulic system, so bleed the brakes before driving.

How quickly does it ship?

Shipping is free to the lower 48 states, and most orders arrive within 1-5 business days. We email your tracking number as soon as it ships.

Can you confirm it's the right part before I order?

Yes. Send us your VIN or year, model and trim, plus your lift height, wheel size and axle, and we'll check it against TeraFlex's fitment information before it ships.

Should I install brake parts myself?

TeraFlex asks you to read its instructions fully before you start and recommends installation by a certified mechanic. Brakes are safety parts, so whoever does the work should test the pedal and the brakes at low speed before normal driving.

Installation

Install time 2 hours
What's involvedRemove the factory front and rear brake lines and frame brackets, then bolt on the new L brackets and fit the braided lines with new copper washers at the calipers and the rear axle T. Check the lines clear the suspension and tires, then bleed the brakes.

Here's the short version. Follow TeraFlex's install sheet (below) for your Jeep's exact steps and torque values.

  1. Front (Jeep can stay on the ground, turn the tires for access): break the hard line loose from the soft line (10mm), remove the frame bracket (T40 Torx) and the factory line from the caliper (9/16"), saving the banjo bolt and discarding the old washers.
  2. Mount the new L bracket with the original Torx bolt, feed the new line through it, fit the clip and hand tighten the hard line into the new line.
  3. Fit the banjo fitting with a new copper washer each side on the original bolt, orient the line as shown and torque to 23 ft-lbs; check it cannot snag as the suspension moves and the tire turns, then torque the hard line to 12 ft-lbs.
  4. Rear: with the Jeep safely supported, break the line loose at the frame (10mm) and remove the bracket (T40 Torx), the bracket on the upper control arm (15mm) and the two hard lines at the T on the axle (breather bolt, 9/16").
  5. Fit the new L bracket with the original Torx bolt and the line with its clip, mount the T end to the axle with the breather tube, refit the hard lines into the T at 12 ft-lbs, tighten the frame hard line to 12 ft-lbs and gently pinch the control arm bracket shut on the line.
  6. Bleed the brakes by standard procedure.
