Description & Fitment
TeraFlex Bump Stop Extension Kits lengthen the factory microcellular upper bump stops on a 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ or Wrangler Unlimited LJ so a lifted suspension still stops before parts make contact. The 1.5" kit (1910111) is a rear upper extension for a 3" lift; the 2.25" kit (1910204) is an upper extension for a front LCG long arm setup or a 4" rear lift. Each extension pops into the factory bump stop tower, and the factory stop keeps absorbing impact progressively.

About TeraFlex
TeraFlex describes itself as a Jeep company at heart, started and staffed by people who drive them. It designs, engineers and builds suspension systems, shocks, axles and performance parts, with the Wrangler and Gladiator at the center of the range.
The company traces its roots to the 1950s and MEPCO (Military Equipment Parts Company), an early supplier of Jeep parts. TeraFlex Manufacturing followed in 1996 to build heavy-duty suspension for the TJ Wrangler, and today's catalog runs from full lift systems and the Falcon shock line to axles, steering and armor.
Authorized TeraFlex dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized TeraFlex dealer, so what we sell is new and genuine TeraFlex. In TeraFlex's words, its limited warranty extends "only to the consumer who originally purchased the product," so keep your receipt with your build records.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which extension do I need?
TeraFlex lists the 1.5" extension for the rear upper on a 3" lift, and the 2.25" extension for a front LCG long arm setup or a 4" rear lift.
Do I keep my factory bump stops?
Yes. The extensions lengthen the reach of the factory microcellular stops.
Is any drilling needed?
TeraFlex says they simply pop into the factory bump stop tower.

Installation
Here's the short version. Follow TeraFlex's install sheet (below) for your Jeep's exact steps and torque values.
- Front lower kit: park level with the parking brake set, raise the Jeep and support the frame so the axle droops, remove the front wheels, and disconnect the track bar and shocks at the axle (13mm, free the ABS lines) to remove the springs.
- Drill a 5/16" hole at the center divot of each spring pad (remove the upper bump stop and its 15mm bell retainer bolt if you need drill access).
- Using the spacer as a guide, cut the threads with one of the self-tapping bolts, then remove bolt and spacer; 2003+ models need a regular 3/8-16 tap.
- Refit the bump stop and cup if removed, install the spring and loose spacer as an assembly with the new retainer bolt, refit the shocks and wheels (lug nuts 110 ft-lbs), set the Jeep down and refit the front track bar.
- Rear upper kit: raise the Jeep so the rear axle droops, remove the wheels, shocks at the axle and rear springs, then pull the bump stop down side to side and remove its cup bolt (15mm).
- Refit the cup with the new bolt and spacer, press the bump stop back in (light grease helps), and refit the springs, shocks and wheels at 110 ft-lbs before setting the Jeep on the ground.
