Description & Fitment
The TeraFlex Front Sway Bar Quick Disconnect Kit for the 1987-1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ comes in two lengths: 8" links for stock height to 2.5" of lift (1733200) or 11" links for 3" to 4" of lift (1733400). The lower link end carries a large polyurethane ball riding on a stainless-steel pin, so the link can be freed by hand. Off-road, the links unhook in moments and fold up clear, so the axle can flex freely. On the street the connected links react to sway bar load without play, which TeraFlex says improves lateral control and steering response over stock rubber bushings.

How is sway bar link length measured?
TeraFlex measures its sway bar link lengths center-to-center, from the middle of one mounting point to the middle of the other.
Installation
Here's the short version. Follow TeraFlex's install sheet (below) for your Jeep's exact steps and torque values.
- Remove the stock sway bar links and check that the threads where they connected are in good condition.
- Fit the lower stainless stud (four holes in the rounded end, threaded center) over the threaded mount and tighten it securely, preferably with Loctite.
- Pass the upper stud's threaded end through the end of the sway bar, pointing inward, and fasten it with the 1/2" nut and lock washer (a hitch pin in the stud helps hold it while tightening).
- Slide the metal spacer onto the lower stud and connect the disconnect arm to both studs, grease zerks to the rear and the lower end toward the outside of the vehicle.
- Secure the arms with the 3/4" flat washers and hitch pins; disconnect before off-roading and store the arms, washers, pins and spacers safely until reconnecting.

TeraFlex covers its sway bars and links for life against defects in materials and workmanship. Its warranty list names no term for sway bar mounts or the universal tube disconnect plate, so contact us before ordering one of those and we will confirm that coverage.- TeraFlex extends its limited warranty only to the consumer who first bought the product, and only on the vehicle the part was first installed on. It does not pass to a later owner.
- Coverage starts on the purchase date and does not restart if a part is repaired or replaced.
- For a covered defect, TeraFlex will either repair or replace the product (or the faulty part) free of charge or refund the purchase price, at its discretion, and it pays the freight to send a repaired or replacement part back to you.
- Not covered: damage from transportation, storage, improper use, skipped instructions or preventive maintenance, modifications, unauthorized repair, normal wear and tear, product finish, improper installation or maintenance, racing or competition, or accidents, abuse and neglect. Improper installation, poor maintenance, racing or competition use, and neglect or abuse void the warranty.
- Paint and powder coat finishes carry 90 days of defect coverage only, not wear from use.
- Claims: contact us first. Keep your proof of purchase or original invoice; removing the part from the vehicle and the inbound shipping are the owner's responsibility.
