Description & Fitment
On a 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ or Wrangler Unlimited LJ with the 4.0-liter inline-six, this TeraFlex skid plate protects the transmission pan. It attaches to the TeraFlex HD BellyUp Skid Plate and works together with the TeraFlex HD Oil Pan Skid Plate, so both are required and sold separately. It is CNC laser cut and bent from 3/16" steel with a black powder coat. TeraFlex lists about one hour of labor and says it does not fit four-cylinder Jeeps.

What else do I need?
TeraFlex requires its HD BellyUp Skid Plate (4648403, or 4648457 for Hemi swaps) and its HD Oil Pan Skid Plate (4667100). Both are sold separately.
Will it fit a 2.4L or 2.5L four-cylinder TJ?
No. TeraFlex says it does not fit the I-4 engine.
Does it fit an LJ?
Yes. TeraFlex lists TJ Wrangler and LJ Wrangler Unlimited models with the 4.0L I-6.

Installation
Here's the short version. Follow TeraFlex's install sheet (below) for your Jeep's exact steps and torque values.
- This skid must be installed together with the TeraFlex HD engine skid plate (#4667100) and BellyUp skid plate (#4648403).
- Bolt the anti-vibration mount to the transmission skid plate with the bolt facing up.
- If the HD engine skid is already on, put the bolts in from the top and lift the skid into position; if you are fitting the engine skid at the same time, put them in from the bottom for more ground clearance.
- Tighten the nuts to 17 ft-lbs.
- Connect the transmission skid to the BellyUp skid with the bolts installed from the bottom up to protect the threads from trail damage.

TeraFlex's warranty list covers its skid plates for life against defects in materials and workmanship.- TeraFlex extends its limited warranty only to the consumer who first bought the product, and only on the vehicle the part was first installed on. It does not pass to a later owner.
- Coverage starts on the purchase date and does not restart if a part is repaired or replaced.
- For a covered defect, TeraFlex will either repair or replace the product (or the faulty part) free of charge or refund the purchase price, at its discretion, and it pays the freight to send a repaired or replacement part back to you.
- Not covered: damage from transportation, storage, improper use, skipped instructions or preventive maintenance, modifications, unauthorized repair, normal wear and tear, product finish, improper installation or maintenance, racing or competition, or accidents, abuse and neglect. Improper installation, poor maintenance, racing or competition use, and neglect or abuse void the warranty.
- Paint and powder coat finishes carry 90 days of defect coverage only, not wear from use.
- Claims: contact us first. Keep your proof of purchase or original invoice; removing the part from the vehicle and the inbound shipping are the owner's responsibility.
