Description & Fitment

The TeraFlex Progressive Bump Stop Kit, Rear, fits a 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK lifted 2.5"-3.5". The rear stops are made from TeraFlex's nitrogen-charged, closed-cell microcellular polyurethane, which it says will not fade under heavy use and stays flexible in heat or sub-zero cold, and they pop into the existing factory locations. TeraFlex says the progressive build reduces the harshness of bottoming out and lowers the risk of bending an axle housing tube.

About TeraFlex

TERAFLEX.

TeraFlex describes itself as a Jeep company at heart, started and staffed by people who drive them. It designs, engineers and builds suspension systems, shocks, axles and performance parts, with the Wrangler and Gladiator at the center of the range.

The company traces its roots to the 1950s and MEPCO (Military Equipment Parts Company), an early supplier of Jeep parts. TeraFlex Manufacturing followed in 1996 to build heavy-duty suspension for the TJ Wrangler, and today's catalog runs from full lift systems and the Falcon shock line to axles, steering and armor.

Authorized TeraFlex dealer. Prestige Truck is an authorized TeraFlex dealer, so what we sell is new and genuine TeraFlex. In TeraFlex's words, its limited warranty extends "only to the consumer who originally purchased the product," so keep your receipt with your build records.

Install time 5 hours (all four corners)
TypePops into factory locations
What's involvedTwist the factory rear bump stops out, snap the SpeedBump cups onto the bump stop bells and push in the new SpeedBumps, then bolt the lower pads to the axle. No cutting or welding is needed.
Tools
  • Basic mechanic's tool set
  • Allen wrench - 3/16"
  • Combination end wrench - 1/2"

Here's the short version. Follow TeraFlex's install sheet (below) for your Jeep's exact steps and torque values.

  1. Pull each factory rear bump stop down out of its frame mount with a slight twist; no cutting or welding is needed (p1).
  2. Line up the upper SpeedBump cup with the frame so the notches on its top index around the factory bump stop bracket, and snap it onto the bump stop bell.
  3. If the cup is tight, file sharp edges off the bell, put a thin layer of grease on the cup's inner lip and seat it with a few quick mallet taps.
  4. Twist and push the new SpeedBump bump stop into place, using a little silicone spray to help it pop in.
  5. Set each rear lower pad (954600) on the axle with its extended end facing the front, fit two bolts and nylock nuts per pad and torque all four fasteners to 7 ft-lbs (9.5 Nm).
