Description & Fitment
On a 2012-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK or JK Unlimited with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, some aftermarket front bumpers and winches need the vacuum pump moved off the front crossmember. This TeraFlex bracket kit relocates it into the engine bay, safely out of the way of a winch. Expect some vacuum tube re-routing; TeraFlex lists the kit as required for its RockGuard Epic front bumpers and estimates about an hour of labor.

Installation

Here's the short version. Follow TeraFlex's install sheet (below) for your Jeep's exact steps and torque values.
- Disconnect the electrical connector, vacuum connector and small intake hose from the auxiliary vacuum pump, remove the two nuts holding it to the frame bracket and take the pump out.
- Fit the relocation bracket to the pump so the pump's nipple will point roughly at the coolant reservoir cap once installed, and fasten it with the 6mm bolts, washers, lock washers and nuts.
- Remove the fender bolt (10mm), loosen the 13mm nut on the driver's side brake booster stud, slide the bracket's slot behind that nut with its hole over the fender hole, refit the fender bolt through the bracket and tighten the booster nut.
- Cut the ties holding the pump hose and pull it up into the engine bay; separate the vacuum hose at the joint near the front of the driver's cylinder head and move the 90-degree connector, short hose and check valve onto the hose still attached to the intake manifold.
- Route the new hose assembly under the brake master cylinder to the pump, refit the small intake hose and run it across the firewall beside the wire loom, secured with the supplied zip ties.
- Cut the green and black wires (not the red and white) to free the factory connector, extend them with the supplied green and black wires using the heat-shrink butt connectors (strip 3/8", match colors, shrink with a heat gun), sleeve them in the loom, plug the connector into the pump harness and fix it with a new 3/16" hole beside the existing one.

TeraFlex's warranty list names no term for vacuum pump relocation brackets, so contact us before ordering and we will confirm the coverage.- TeraFlex extends its limited warranty only to the consumer who first bought the product, and only on the vehicle the part was first installed on. It does not pass to a later owner.
- Coverage starts on the purchase date and does not restart if a part is repaired or replaced.
- For a covered defect, TeraFlex will either repair or replace the product (or the faulty part) free of charge or refund the purchase price, at its discretion, and it pays the freight to send a repaired or replacement part back to you.
