This is the tool for every pulling job that does not justify a vehicle winch. It has no motor and no battery of its own. You chuck your cordless drill into the socket on the side, and the drill becomes the power unit: 750 lb of pulling capacity from a device already in the back of the truck. It weighs about 12 lb, has a moulded carry handle across the top, and carries 40' of 5/32" steel rope with an integrated hawse fairlead and rigging hooks at both the front and the rear. Warn's own list of what people use it for is a good summary of the category: dragging logs, pulling game out of a field, stretching fence, standing walls and loading trailers.

Features
750 lb of Pull From a Drill You Already Own
The Drill Winch has no motor. It takes drive from a standard portable drill through a socket on the side, which means no second battery to charge, no second charger to carry and nothing to go flat between jobs. Warn rates it at 750 lb of single-line pull, a 50 percent increase over the previous generation.
Genuinely Portable
About 12 lb with a moulded grip handle across the top. It goes in a tool bag, a quad rack or behind a truck seat, and it works anywhere you can stand, which is the whole point of a winch that is not bolted to a vehicle.
40' of 5/32" Steel Rope
Steel rope on this build, 40' of it, which is a third more rope capacity than the previous generation carried. Steel handles abrasion well, which suits a tool that gets dragged across gravel, timber and fence line rather than living under a bumper.
Rigging Hooks Front and Rear
A hook at each end is what makes this practical to rig. The rear hook anchors the winch to something solid, the front hook goes on the load, and you are pulling without needing a mounting point or a bracket. That is the difference between a portable winch and a winch you happen to be able to carry.
Free-Spool Clutch
Disengage the clutch and pull the rope out by hand rather than running it out under power. On a tool that gets rigged and re-rigged repeatedly through a job, that saves more time than any other single feature.
Integrated Hawse Fairlead
The fairlead is built into the housing rather than bolted on, which keeps the package compact and means there is nothing to lose or to catch on the way in and out of a bag.

Fit guidance: This is a portable tool, not a vehicle-mounted winch. There is no bolt pattern and no mount to buy: you anchor it with the rear rigging hook and pull with the front one. Two things to be clear about before ordering. First, the drill is not included, and the winch is only as capable as the drill driving it, so a low-torque or nearly flat drill will not deliver the full 750 lb. Second, 750 lb is a pulling rating for horizontal work. Do not use it to lift or suspend a load, and do not treat it as a substitute for a vehicle recovery winch.

Installation
Type: No installation. Rig it in place with the front and rear hooks · Time: A couple of minutes to rig · Tools: A standard portable drill, plus a strap or chain to anchor the rear hook · Difficulty: Easy
Anchor the rear hook to something genuinely solid with a strap or chain, not to something that will move or break. Disengage the free-spool clutch, pull the rope out to the load by hand and attach the front hook. Re-engage the clutch, fit your drill to the drive socket and pull, keeping clear of the line and never straddling it. Watch the drill as much as the load; the winch will keep asking for torque long after a small drill is happy giving it. Read the Warn Drill Winch operator's manual supplied in the box before the first use.

About Warn
Warn Industries has been building pulling and recovery equipment in the Pacific Northwest since 1948, when Arthur Warn started out converting surplus military Jeeps for road use with a locking hub of his own design. Those hubs turned into winches, and the winch business turned Warn into the name that off-roaders, ranchers, contractors and utility crews reach for when something has to be moved that will not move by hand.
Warn's utility line follows a simple idea the company sums up as work smarter, not harder: build tools that save time and labour so one person can do the work of two. The Drill Winch is the purest example of it. Rather than sell you another motor and another battery, it borrows the ones you already own and turns a cordless drill into a 750 lb pulling tool that fits in a tool bag. Same engineering discipline as the vehicle winches, aimed at a job that does not need a truck.
Prestige Truck is an authorized Warn dealer. Every winch and accessory we sell is new, factory-boxed, covered by the full Warn factory warranty, and supported through Warn's own dealer network.
