Features

Synthetic rope, lighter handling: This build swaps steel for 40' of synthetic rope, easier on the hands and lighter to carry out to the load. Warn still asks for gloves whenever you work the winch or touch the rope.
750 lb from your drill: There is no motor inside. Chuck a standard drill/driver onto its 5/16" shaft and the gear train turns that torque into up to 750 lb of pull, which Warn rates on the first layer of rope.
Forty feet of working rope: Warn's capacity chart runs out to 40' of rope. The more rope you pay out, the fewer layers stay on the drum and the closer you get to the full 750 lb.
Hooks at both ends: A rope hook rides on the end of the line and an anchor hook fastens the winch to its anchor, with straps doing the wrapping. A hook strap is included to keep fingers clear of the fairlead while spooling.
Clutch dial for free spooling: Turn the clutch dial to unlock the drum and the rope pulls off by hand, so you can walk the hook out to the load without running the drill. Lock it again before you take up any tension.
Load limiter guards the gears: Push past the rating and a mechanical load limiter starts to ratchet, cutting the drive from the drill. Warn's fix is simple: ease the load, or set the anchor farther away so less rope sits on the drum.

Description & Fitment

The synthetic-rope Drill Winch, part 101575, gives you the same 750 lb drill-powered pull with 40' of synthetic rope on the drum. You bring the drill/driver, at least 3 ft. lbs. of drive torque and not an impact model, and its rotation switch and trigger handle direction and speed. Rope and anchor hooks plus a hook strap come with it.

Fitment & Compatibility

Choose the right version: this is the synthetic-rope Drill Winch. Same winch with steel wire rope: Drill Winch 101570.

Not included: the drill/driver, gloves and rigging gear such as straps, D-shackles and a Warn winch damper, all sold separately, as Warn's manual lists them.

About Warn

WARN.

Warn Industries is a winch and recovery equipment maker headquartered in Clackamas, Oregon. Its range covers truck and SUV winches such as ZEON and the Heavyweight series, the AXON, VRX and R-Series powersports winches, the HUB Wireless Receiver and the portable Drill Winch.

Warn puts the Drill Winch among its utility products, made to save time and labor so one person can handle work that would usually take two. It turns an ordinary cordless or corded drill/driver into a portable 750 lb puller.

Buying Warn from Prestige Truck. Warn asks for proof of purchase, a dated sales receipt showing the Warn product, with any warranty claim, so keep your Prestige Truck order receipt with your records.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the rope choice change the rating?

No. Warn rates both Drill Winch versions at 750 lb; this one simply carries synthetic rope instead of the steel wire rope on 101570.

Do I still need gloves?

Yes. Warn's manual calls for protective gloves whenever you run the Drill Winch or handle its rope.

Does a drill come with it?

No. You supply a standard drill/driver; Warn says not to use an impact driver. Warn lists a minimum drive torque of 3 ft. lbs. (4 N-m) for the drill.

What if the winch starts to ratchet?

That is the load limiter telling you the pull is past the rating. Stop, power out to ease the line, then lighten the load or move the anchor farther away so more rope comes off the drum.

How long can I run it?

Warn defers to your drill: follow the drill maker's recommended run times and cooling times.

What does the warranty cover?

Warn covers the Drill Winch with a limited 1-year warranty. Keep your order receipt as proof of purchase, and contact us to start a claim.

This is the new improved Warn Drill Winch

I’ve been using the previous version of the Warn Drill Winch for several years. It has been very useful as an emergency winch to get me out of a few tight spots while on my four wheeler and also doing chores around my property. This new model has a stronger 750 pound pulling capacity compared to the 500 pound pulling capacity of the older model. The 40 foot length of synthetic rope is safer and easier to handle as well. I’m very happy with my purchase!

Robust litte winch

Bought this for a shop winch suspended from ceiling and I use a Dewalt drill to power it. At first I used low speed on the drill and soon shifted it to high. Works great lifting my recumbent trike onto my work stand. No more pulled back muscles lifting eccentric loads in my shop. I will also use it around my properties when a winch is necessary. Not too heavy and the synthetic rope is a winner.

Used to haul 40 yards of debris from a basement.

This was a company purchase and we used it to clean out plaster, lath, collapsed foundation walls, and other assorted debris from a basement. This product preformed, pulling tons and tons of debris up stairs. Excellent product.

Good brand and useful piece of kit, but came USED at full (HIGH) retail price while advert

Unit was satisfactory and worked well. However, unit was obviously used and repackaged yet was sold as NEW at full price (a premium brand at a premium price!). Had scars as well as caked on dirt where used, then returned. Really hoping it was not overloaded then returned, but I needed it for a job, so I kept it instead of returning it (unlike the first owner). If not for this and the high price it would have gotten 5 stars

Improvements over PullzAll

Replaces a battery-powered Warn PullzAll: easier to handle, rope is better than cable for my purposes, no special battery to maintain, can spool it in/out unloaded much faster. I'm using a deep 5/16" socket rather than clamping a drill on it.

I have only used it once and it worked well to lift a 100 lb box. I didn't see anything in the sales hype about not using it as a hoist but when I got it, the instructions said to not use it as a hoist. That was the sole purpose I bought it for! I figured the mfgr was just CYA on the hoist thing so I tried it as a lifting tool and it worked fine. If they didn't want it used as a hoist, it should say so in the product description before you buy. Anyway it works for my purposes and is way faster and easier than a come along.

work as described

The device is portable, easy to use, convenient to grab from my truck and use when electricity/ battery power not conveniently available. I loaded a Model A pickup onto my trailer with just my wife and myself available to get it loaded. It didnt even take one whole battery charge of the drill battery to get it loaded.

Great tool

I have used it twice and it has worked perfectly. I'm using it to pull fence tight on farm fence. The only thing I would improve on is the gear ratio so you can pull out faster and retract faster without load.

better than I thought it would be!

I hate "come-allongs"! Slow clunky, hard to use! Don't get me wrong, they work, and are cheap. Have had my eye on this winch for awhile, but after I had to winch my zero turn mower out of my barn and onto my trailer, with my old hand winch,"which by the way is MUCH better than anything you buy today!" , the starter went out, took me 30 minutes to load it up! Thats what Made me pull the trigger, glad I did! First time I used it was to pull a half submerged john boat, we had heavy rains and "someone" forgot to remove the drain plug on the boat! And they didn't move it high enough on the levey! Hooked it up to my tow hooks on my front bumper on my Ford got out the drill, and winched it up out of the water with no problem! Lord knows what it weighed! I couldn't move it by hand, thats for sure! Spooles out effortlessly! Just turn the hub to un-lock. Hook it up, turn hub to lock, and press…

Light weight and strong enough!

I bought this to pull dead cars into/out of my shop which has a slight incline to the drive, and onto a car hauler. It successfully pulled my wife's Volvo 240 wagon into the shop last night and I'm sure with a snatch block will pull rollers onto my trailer. Super light weight with the synthetic rope. Impressed thus far!

My lawn tractor was stuck in a soft and wet area at the back of my property. I have an old "come-along" winch, but it was so difficult to use and slow. That experience prompted me to buy this drill winch. It hasn't been stuck since, but I have tested it by pulling heavy objects. 500 lbs. of force seems adequate, but I also purchased a "snatch block" to increase that force if needed. Be sure to wear glove when using this. The cable ends that are crimped still protrude and the strands will penetrate the skin...I know...

Tested the product using a 300 lb. log and winching it uphill. Using a standard (10 years old) 18 volt cordless drill, it pulled the log about 22 feet using the lower speed on one battery. It was slow but it performed as expected. I plan to use it primarily for winching deer out of steep ravines.
