The reason to want this is distance. A corded winch remote puts you on a lead a few feet long, which means standing near the winch, near the line, and usually with a poor view of what the vehicle is actually doing. The HUB receiver moves the controls to your phone over Bluetooth and lets you work from up to 100' away, so you can stand where you can see the load, the rope and the anchor at the same time. It wires in between the winch and the control pack rather than replacing anything, so your wired remote still works exactly as it did. This is the truck and SUV version, for contactor-controlled Warn winches.

Features

Control From Up to 100' Away
Bluetooth pairing between the receiver and your smart device gives you winch control from up to 100' away. In practice that means you can stand somewhere with a clear view of the load and the anchor rather than beside the winch, which is both easier to judge and considerably safer than standing near a line under tension.

Plugs In, Does Not Replace Your Wired Remote
The receiver goes in line on the factory harness between the winch and the control pack. Your existing corded remote keeps working, so you gain the wireless option without giving up the hard-wired one, which matters on the day a phone battery is flat or a pairing will not take.

The free Warn HUB app turns a phone you already carry into the winch control. There is no extra fob to lose in a footwell, no dedicated remote to keep charged, and nothing else to keep track of in a recovery kit that is already full.

The module is small and moulded, with a status LED and a pairing button on the face, sized to tuck in behind a bumper or alongside a control pack. At about 0.7 lb there is nothing to it and nothing that needs bracketry.

Installation

Disconnect the battery before working around a winch control pack. The receiver installs in line on the factory harness between the winch and the control pack, so it is a matter of unplugging one connection, inserting the module and plugging it back together. Mount the module where it is protected from direct water spray and away from exhaust heat, and cable-tie the harness so nothing hangs into moving parts or rubs on an edge. Reconnect the battery, download the Warn HUB app, pair using the button on the module, and test the winch in and out under no load before you rely on it.

About Warn

Warn Industries has been building vehicle recovery gear in the Pacific Northwest since 1948, when Arthur Warn started out converting surplus military Jeeps for road use with a locking hub of his own design.
