Description & Fitment
Weather Guard builds the 126-3-04 as a full-size standard saddle box: 18-ga steel under white ARMOR TUF powder coat. It measures 72" L x 20" W x 18" H and holds 11.0 ft³, at 118 lb on Weather Guard's spec sheet. The steel body is 43 lb heavier than the aluminum 127 twin, in 18-ga steel.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it fit a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 5½' bed?
Yes. Weather Guard's fit guide lists the 126 size for that truck and bed, along with 19 other truck and bed pairings. Measure your rails to confirm.
Will it fit my Colorado or Ranger?
No. This is a 72" full-size box. For mid-size beds, Weather Guard makes 62" crossover boxes such as the 131, 137, 154 and 156.
Can one key open all my boxes?
Yes, as long as they are 1Key UltraLock boxes. Weather Guard lets you code the key to one box or to as many as you need. Write your key code down: the install sheet says there is no way to look it up if it is lost.
Do I have to drill my truck bed?
Not on a standard install. The box rests on both rails and four clamps grip under the rail lip, with eight slots so the clamps can land where your bed allows. A plastic drop-in liner may need trimming or drilling, and if you choose through-bolts or J-bolts in an aluminum bed, coat the holes with zinc-rich primer (not included).
What changes between steel and aluminum?
Gauge and weight. Weather Guard lists 18-ga bodies for the steel boxes and 15-ga for aluminum; in the 72" extra-wide size the steel 116 weighs 163 lb and the aluminum 117 weighs 97 lb.
Why won't the lid latch yet?
Weather Guard notes the lid may not latch properly until the box is clamped down at all four points, so finish the mounting before you judge the latch.

Here's the short version. Follow Weather Guard's install sheet (below) for the exact positions and hardware.
- Code the locks with the supplied keys before first use. Once a lock is coded it cannot be changed, so decide whether all your boxes share one key.
- With the truck parked on level ground, set the box on the bed rails and center it with a ruler. Check the cover opens fully without hitting the cab.
- Fit a mounting clamp, carriage bolt and fender washer in four of the eight slots, starting at the driver-side front and working clockwise.
- The cover may not latch until all four clamps are tight, so finish bolting before you test it.
- On an aluminum bed, use the aluminum upfit parts. Prime any drilled holes with zinc-rich primer.
- Check the clamps for tightness from time to time.

Weather Guard backs this box with its Limited Lifetime Warranty, issued by Werner Co.: the box is warranted against defects in material and workmanship for its expected lifetime, counted from the day you buy it.- Only the original purchaser is covered, and coverage ends if the box passes to a new owner.
- Every claim needs a copy of the original sales receipt, so keep your Prestige Truck order receipt with your records.
- Werner Co. picks the remedy: it repairs the faulty part or replaces the whole box at no charge for parts or labor, or it may refund what you paid or issue a credit toward a new Weather Guard product.

Fit and finish is ok as some spots were not consistent with powder coating. Also, I would have liked a little thicker material. That's why I give it a 4 stars and not the 5. I'm out.

Love the toolbox but..
The toolbox has served me well for the 2 years that I've had it. Overall still in great condition but as i had read in some reviews before i bought it, there seemed to be issues with workmanship. For my unit, the welds were not ground down at all on the outsides of the box, which when i first got it, thought nothing of it. But about 1.5 years into owning it I started to notice rust forming from underneath the paint from those areas with bulging welds, more specifically on both front edges of the box were the lock buttons are. I guess this is bound to happen over time, but it seems those bulging welds that were not ground down only increased the speed of the rust forming. Since they are not flat & uniform. Anyways overall, i still like it, but may go for a higher end toolbox in the future if i continue to see more rust from underneath the paint which is is impossible to detect before…

Very nice toolbox, glad they offer it in this white powder coated steel option, should hopefully last a long time and can't see any reasons why it wouldn't. Opens and closes very smooth, stays water tight, and the locking mechanisms are superior to many other toolbox brands. Has a lot of space inside and even came with a couple extra things like a bolt/screw organizer and clips to hold a level. The mounting system was very simple yet rugged and solid, and the 2 loops on the front are perfect for strapping down things like gas cans and propane tanks etc. Overall very happy with this product and highly recommend it to anyone willing to spend the extra money for the high quality that it is.

Very easy to install. Looks nice in 6ft bed not too big. Large carrying capacity. Fits a small cooler and a full set of tools. Comes with a sliding tray for drill bits etc. As well as a plastic box with separators for screws etc. Very well made and completely waterproof.

Solid box, questionable workmanship!
I am happy with the design of the box, solid and secure. However, the quality control and workmanship are equal to overseas at best. You will see in the photos, incomplete powder coat coverage. Poor or in-completed prep work before the powder coat, and tasks completely missed. Sure, these are not major issues, but this is a premium priced box, and therefore judged as such. Would I recommend Weatherguard? Yes, but with a word of caution. American design, Overseas build quality!

Nearly perfect
The quality of this box is second to none. It is well built and the tray layout is very efficient. Two things I see that prevent this from being 5 stars. First the mounting brackets need to be wider to offer an more secure fit on trucks with plastic rail covers. They work but are not as secure as I would prefer. Second for a box that costs as much as this one does they should include a plug kit for the mounting bolt holes. For those of us in rainy climates water does get in the box through the holes. Duct tape fixed it for me but it is an engineering oversight in my opinion.
