How the 1Key UltraLock System Works

A step-by-step look from Weather Guard at what the 1Key UltraLock actually does: how the cylinder accepts a new code, why the red push button retracts when the box is locked, and how the latch pulls the lid down against the seal. Worth two minutes before you set the box up.

How to Code Your 1Key UltraLock Lock

Weather Guard's official walkthrough for coding the lock so this box opens with the same key as the rest of your Weather Guard boxes. Follow it once when the box arrives and you can stop carrying a separate key for every lid on the truck.

Protect Your Gear and Your Reputation

Weather Guard's own film on why a working truck earns its keep from what is bolted to it. It frames the boxes, racks and bed equipment as the difference between arriving ready and arriving short, which is the thing a customer actually notices. It is a short manufacturer-made overview rather than a product demo, so watch it for the why rather than the how. If you are outfitting a truck from scratch it is a useful place to start before you pick individual part numbers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on specs, fit and support

Why does it sit below the bed rail?

The 635-5-04 is designed to sit below your truck bed rail so it preserves rear-window visibility and clears tonneau covers, lids and truck caps. The offset zero-clearance cover still opens a full 90 degrees even with the chest pushed tight against the front of the bed.

Is the black steel chest any different from the white 635-3-04?

No, the 635-5-04 is the same heavy 10ft³ steel chest as the white 635-3-04, with the same below-rail fit, 90 degree cover, weather seal and automotive-grade 1Key UltraLock latch. The gloss black ARMOR TUF finish is the only difference, chosen for looks and scuff-hiding.

Will it keep my tools dry?

Yes. A full perimeter weather seal runs around the cover to keep rain, snow and dust out, so your gear stays dry and ready in wet weather and on dusty jobsites.

Why choose steel over the aluminum 634 chest?

The 635-5-04 uses a heavy steel body instead of the aluminum of the 634 series, trading extra weight (about 112 pounds versus 62) for greater strength and dent resistance, which fleets often prefer for the hardest daily use. It holds the same 10ft³ and fits below the bed rail the same way.

Can I run power to it or strap it down?

Yes. A 12-volt access port makes electrical up-fits easy, and reinforced tie-down buckles give you enhanced attachment points for multiple strap configurations to secure the chest and lash down cargo.

What is it made of and is it under warranty?

It is built from steel with a Gloss Black ARMOR TUF powder-coat finish, made in the USA, and backed by a Weather Guard Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
