Finally, a real steel over-cab rack sized for a mid-size truck. The Weather Guard 1345-52-02 brings the full 1,000 pound steel rack platform down to the compact beds of the Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, Ford Ranger and Nissan Frontier. It carries up to 1,000 pounds evenly distributed on formed steel, mounts with no drilling, and finishes in a matte black powder coat that stands up to weather and jobsite wear. Adjustable front legs dial in the fit to your bed length, a welded airfoil cuts wind drag, and side-member tie-downs plus leg loops give you plenty of anchor points for ladders and long stock.

Features
Sized For Mid-Size Beds This is the compact version of Weather Guard's steel truck rack, built to fit the shorter, narrower beds of the Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, Ford Ranger from 2019 and up, and the Nissan Frontier. You get a true jobsite ladder rack that actually fits a mid-size truck instead of a full-size rack that hangs off the sides.
1,000 lb Steel Capacity The formed steel frame carries up to 1,000 pounds evenly distributed, so it handles extension ladders, lumber, pipe and conduit on a smaller truck. It brings full-size rack strength to a compact bed.
True No-Drill Install The rack mounts with a combination of stake-pocket and clamp attachments, so you do not drill your bed rails. A no-drill kit is included for 2016 and newer Chevrolet and GMC trucks. That protects the bed from rust and keeps the rack easy to remove or move to your next truck.
Welded Airfoil and Adjustable Legs A built-in welded airfoil on the front cross member reduces air resistance and cuts wind noise at highway speed. The front legs adjust to match your bed length, so the crossbars line up right over the cab and tailgate.
Tie-Downs All Around Each leg has a built-in tie-down loop and the side members add four more anchor points, so you can strap loads down from several angles. Long, awkward loads stay put on the highway and on rough site roads.
Built For Loading and Climbing Removable pins on the rear cross member let you pull that bar in seconds to drop in tall or bulky loads, and rear handle bars make it easier to climb on and off the truck. Included protective tape keeps your ladders from rubbing the matte black steel in transit.

Fit guidance: This is the compact and mid-size version of Weather Guard's steel truck rack. Weather Guard designs it for the compact beds of the Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, Ford Ranger from 2019 and newer, and the Nissan Frontier. The Toyota Tacoma is not on Weather Guard's named fit list for this rack, so confirm your bed has standard stake pockets before ordering. The front legs adjust for bed length and the rack mounts with a no-drill combination of stake-pocket and clamp attachments, with an included no-drill kit for 2016 and newer Chevrolet and GMC trucks. It rides over the cab, so check garage and drive-thru clearance, and keep loads strapped and within the 1,000 lb evenly distributed limit. This OneWeather Guard Compact Steel Truck Rack, 1,000 lb, Matte Black (1345-52-02)
Weather Guard's Defender Series install video shows the lightweight aluminum truck rack going onto a pickup with no drilling required. You see the compression clamps grip the bed rails and the crossbars set up to carry ladders, lumber and pipe, rated to about 800 pounds. It makes clear how quickly the rack mounts and how the ladder stops keep a load in place. It is a helpful look at the rack in place before you buy or install your own.
Weather Guard Headache Rack Install Guide
Weather Guard's step-by-step guide covers mounting a headache rack, also called a cab protector, behind the cab. You see how the rack bolts up to shield the back window from shifting ladders, lumber and cargo. It walks through the hardware and placement so the rack sits square and solid. Coming straight from the manufacturer, it is the most reliable reference for installing and understanding the rack.
Best Upgrade for Your Truck
This is Weather Guard's own brand film about outfitting a working pickup, built on the idea that the truck should already be loaded and organized before the day starts. It puts the bed and rail equipment in the context of a real work day rather than a spec sheet.

Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers on specs, fit and support
Which trucks does the 1345 fit?
Weather Guard designs it for compact and mid-size beds, specifically the Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, Ford Ranger from 2019 and newer, and the Nissan Frontier. The front legs adjust to match your bed length. The Toyota Tacoma is not on Weather Guard's named list for this rack, so confirm your bed has standard stake pockets first. Full-size trucks should use the 1275 or heavy-duty 1175 instead.
How much weight can it carry?
The compact steel rack is rated for up to 1,000 pounds evenly distributed, the same capacity as the full-size steel rack. Spread heavy loads across the crossbars, strap them at several points, and stay within that limit for safe hauling on a mid-size truck.
Do I need to drill holes in my truck?
No. The rack mounts with a no-drill combination of stake-pocket and clamp attachments, and a no-drill kit is included for 2016 and newer Chevrolet and GMC trucks. That keeps your bed rails intact and rust-free and makes the rack easy to remove or move to another truck later.
How many tie-down points does it have?
Every leg has a built-in tie-down loop and the side members add four more anchor points, so you can strap ladders and long stock down from several angles. The rear cross member also has removable pins so you can pull that bar to load tall or bulky items.
Will it be noisy at highway speed?
A welded airfoil on the front cross member reduces air resistance and cuts the wind noise and buffeting that come from an open rack. That helps on longer drives between jobs with a load up top.
What is it made of and is it covered by a warranty?
It is built from formed, welded steel tubing with a matte black powder coat that resists sun, salt and scrapes, and it is backed by a Weather Guard Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Look is great. 100 lbs
Look is great. 100 lbs lighter than my 2nd pick. Lid lock and opening are smooth. Only minor knock I give is the the tie down hooks are hard to install - thinking I should have done them before installing.

A must have
I really like this mat. I was apprehensive at first but, the mat does a great job of keeping things from sliding around without having to secure it. perfect fit. But i think i will be adding some short screws to secure the mat to the DECKED system.

I never knew how much I needed this
As with all BAK covers, the quality is amazing. What I didnt fully appreciate until installing was the ease of opening - especially in a lifted truck. No more need to find the right handhold. Just roll it back with a single hand. Its also great to see out of my rear window when fully open - something you lose with the fold back covers. Customer service is awesome. I has an installation question and the representative stayed on the line as I adjusted an alignment to ensure I did it properly.

Better then expected.
Searched for about 6 months to find the tonneau cover. I really wanted the security of a hard top without sticking above the bed rails it checked those boxes. I also did not want to drill my truck bed. The install was super simple my wife and I had it on the truck in about a half an hour.
