Tension set by hand
Element Seal across the front
No-drill Tight Bite clamps

Features

  • XT-Dial Tension, No Tools: Easy-grip dials on the front bar set how tight the vinyl sits. Turn both the same amount, counterclockwise to tighten, to keep it drum tight; Access says that makes the cover quieter, longer lasting and less likely to hold standing water.
  • Element Seal Across the Front: A peel-and-stick Element Seal gasket comes in the box and runs along the top of the front bed wall, adding to the front and rear seals and the foam on both side rails. Like any soft cover it is weather-resistant, not waterproof; Access notes some moisture and dust can still get in.
  • No-Drill Tight Bite Clamps: Six toothed clamps bite into grooves on the side rails and hold them inside the bed walls, with no drilling on most trucks. A few trucks bolt on or need a special sheet instead; the child page names it.
  • Rides Just 1/2" Above the Bed: Access calls the Vanish its lowest-profile cover yet: it sits only 1/2" over the bed rails. Black aluminum bars and side rails carry silver bows, two on most beds and three on most long beds.
  • Trigger Latch, Two Slide Locks: Drop the tailgate and one finger on the driver-side trigger frees the rear bar. Press the bar down to close and the latch catches on its own; a slide lock under the rear bar on each side pushes in to lock and pulls out to open.
  • Hook-and-Loop Sides, Rolls Up: A 1" slide-in hook strip closes each side for the full length of the rail. Open it and one person can roll the cover up to the cab, where webbing straps with hooks hold the roll so you can use the whole bed.

Description & Fitment

The Access Vanish is a soft roll-up tonneau cover for the 2004-2014 Ford F-150, 2010-2014 F-150 Raptor and 2006-2008 Lincoln Mark LT with the 5'7" bed, without the Cargo Management System. It suits owners who want a low cover that rides just 1/2" above the bed and closes with hook-and-loop sides. No-drill Tight Bite clamps hold it on, and XT-Dial tension adjusts without tools. A trigger latch with two slide locks and an Element seal across the front set it apart.

About Access

ACCESS

Access roll-up covers come from Agri-Cover, Inc. of Jamestown, North Dakota, which says its covers are built there. Agri-Cover says it introduced the first roll-up tonneau cover, the Access Original, in 1991; it also makes LOMAX hard covers, truck racks and farm roll tarps.

Access calls the Vanish its lowest-profile truck bed cover yet, at 1/2" over the rails. It shares that height and the trigger latch with the entry-level TonnoSport, and adds XT-Dial adjusters, black side rails, a bulkhead gasket in the box and a 3-year warranty.

Authorized Access dealer. Agri-Cover sells Access covers through what it calls "Authorized Dealers all across the country" and "authorized online retailers." Your Access Vanish carries Agri-Cover's 3-year limited warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit my 2004-2014 Ford F-150, 2010-2014 F-150 Raptor & 2006-2008 Lincoln Mark LT?

Yes, if it has the 5'7" box (without Cargo Management System). Measure inside the bed floor from the bulkhead to the closed tailgate and match it to the label. If you're unsure, send us your VIN and we'll check.

Will it fit a truck with the Cargo Management System?

No. This part is for trucks without the Cargo Management System. If you're unsure, send us your VIN and we'll check.

How is the Vanish different from the TonnoSport?

Both sit 1/2" above the bed rails with a trigger latch, two slide locks, a 1" hook-and-loop strip and a flat rear bar. The Vanish steps up to XT-Dial adjusters, black side rails, an Element Seal gasket in the box and a 3-year warranty; the TonnoSport, which Access calls its entry-level roll-up, has EZ-Dial adjusters, silver rails, the gasket as an option and 2 years of cover.

Will it keep rain and snow out of the bed?

It is built to keep most of it out: seals at the front and rear, foam between the rails and the bed, hook-and-loop down both sides and an Element Seal gasket on the front wall. Access's own sheet says no cover stops all moisture and dust, so wrap cargo that must stay dry and seal any factory holes or stake pockets. Brush snow off before you roll it up.

Does the cover lock?

The trigger latch catches every time you close it, and slide locks under the rear bar on both sides add a second hold; pull them out before you open the cover. Access says that with a locking tailgate the bed becomes a secure unit. It is a deterrent rather than a safe, so don't leave valuables in an unattended truck.

Will it work with my bed liner?

Usually, yes. Access lists spray-in liners, bed mats and most under-the-rail drop-in liners as compatible. Its sheet says an under-the-rail drop-in needs a little trimming at the front corners and near the tailgate, while an over-the-rail drop-in needs a lot more. On a spray-in liner, smoothing the front wall helps the gasket stick.

Installation

DifficultyOne personper Access; a spring clamp or a helper holds each rail while you clamp it
What's involvedSide rails clamp inside the bed and the cover bolts to them with tension adjusters, no drilling on most trucks
Tools
  • Two 1/2" wrenches
  • Torque wrench with a 1/2" socket
  • Tape measure
  • Scissors
  • Safety glasses

Here's the short version. Follow Access's install sheet (below) for your truck's exact clamp positions, plus any special sheet your truck needs.

  1. Clamp the side rails. Set each rail with its weather strip against the inside lip of the bed and its guide resting on top, pushed forward to the front wall with the strike at the tailgate end (long beds join the two rail sections first). Clamp it near the front, at the middle and by the tailgate with the teeth in the rail grooves and the rail level and flush, then torque every clamp to 20 ft-lb or the value on your truck's special sheet.
  2. Fit the bulkhead seal gasket. With the air and surface above 60°F, wipe the top of the front wall with the alcohol pad. Peel and stick the gasket from the front of one rail to the opposite corner, raised side along the inside edge of the bed, and cut it to length.
  3. Attach the tension adjusters. Set the pre-rolled cover on the tailgate with the front bar facing up. Thread the left (L) and right (R) adjusters onto the front bar with their bolts and flat washers, and leave both loose.
  4. Mount and center the cover. Set the cover at the front of the bed and roll the front bar onto the rails with the vinyl flap tucked under it and the alignment tabs against the front wall. Bolt each adjuster under its rail without turning the dial, center the front bar so the gap is equal at both rails, then tighten the bolts you left loose.
  5. Close and set the rail height. Unroll the cover, set the rear bar in the strikes and press it down. Close the tailgate slowly; it should sit snug under the rear bar, so raise or lower the rails at the rear to suit, then re-check each clamp's torque, working from the cab back.
  6. Set the tension and seal. Open and close the rear bar a few times: it should snap shut, with no sag in the vinyl between the bows. Roll the cover open to adjust, turn both adjusters the same amount (counterclockwise tightens) and seal both sides with the hook-and-loop.
