Security is the other half of the pitch. The rigid FRP top panels are cut and puncture resistant, so the FiberMax turns away the break-in attempts that defeat a soft cover outright. Each panel latches automatically to the mounting rails as the cover closes, and the release cables sit under the cover where you can only reach them with the tailgate open, so there is no exposed hardware to attack from outside the truck.

Stylistically it is a flush-mount cover. The textured gloss black FRP panels sit practically level with your bed rails, and the outer panels are highly UV resistant, so the finish holds its color through years of sun rather than fading or chalking. EPDM rubber hinges and outer rail seals keep water out of the bed, and an internal water channel guides anything that gets past them down the tracks and out through the integrated drain hoses. One thing worth knowing: the FiberMax uses a conventional tailgate seal, so close the tailgate before the bed cover for maximum water resistance.

With the tailgate unlocked and open, reach under the cover for the release cables, fold it forward to the two thirds open position, and secure the stack with the nylon buckle straps. Fold it once more against the rear window and engage the integrated prop rods for full cargo access. Warranty. 3-Year Limited Warranty from BAK Industries against defects in materials and workmanship, backed by US-based product support. It does not cover accident damage, neglect, improper installation, or improper servicing. To keep it valid, clean the cover with mild automotive soap and water only, secure it at all points before driving, re-check the clamps for tightness about a week after installation, clear snow and ice before opening, and remove the cover if the truck has to be towed from the rear.
