BAKFlip MX4 EZ-Lift Hard Folding Tonneau Cover for 2019-2023 Ford Ranger (5'1" Bed)

Here's the short version. Follow BAK's install sheet (below) for your truck's exact clamp positions and settings.

1. Fit the rear brackets and seal. At the rear, lift the edge of the bed rail cap and slip each rear truck bracket under the metal rail with its tab in the hole and its stud in the slot, then fit the 1/4-20 nuts with a 7/16" wrench, careful not to over-tighten. Clean the top of the bulkhead with soap and water, then isopropyl alcohol, and stick the bulkhead seal from edge to edge (not needed with a drop-in bed liner).
2. Fit the front brackets and rails. Slide each front bracket between the bed cap and rail lip until its slotted hole lines up with the threaded hole and fit the M8 bolt with a 13 mm wrench (on a spray-in liner, clean the threads first). Stick the filler strips between the bed cap and metal rail, fit the drain tubes to the front of the side rails (route them behind a liner, through the bed plugs or through an 11/16" hole in the bulkhead), and set each rail flush with the top of the bed rail, pushed all the way to the cab.
3. Clamp the rails. Mount the center clamp first without fully tightening it, then the outer clamps at the filler-strip spots, pressing down on the rail so it sits flush and seals. Keep the rails level with the bed cap and tighten to 10 ft-lb with a 1/2" wrench or socket.
4. Prep the cover. Slide the two cover retainer clamps into the track under the cab end of the cover. Stick a gasket under each buckle end and screw the buckle ends into the pre-drilled holes on the front header panel; if your kit has wedge stops, fit them the same way with their gaskets. Hand-tighten only.
5. Set the cover and engage the lift springs. Lay the folded cover on the side rails at the cab end, centered, and turn the retainer clamps clockwise until the lock washer is snug. Clean the cab end of the cover, then stick the bumpers evenly along its top edge where it meets the cab. Pull the pin wherever there is a spring to engage the EZ-Lift system; if it doesn't catch at first, fold the cover down and back up a few times.
6. Unfold, adjust and check. Unfold the cover toward the tailgate and center each panel side to side and front to back, with the rear edge and tailgate seal resting on top of the tailgate. Release each latch to check it engages the rails (the sheet shows how to adjust a slam latch), then re-tighten the retainer clamps. After that, check now and then that the clamps and retainer clamps stay tight, as the sheet's care section asks.
