- Twist-and-Lift Rotary Latch: Drop the tailgate, reach under the driver side of the tail panel and turn the handle: both latches let go and the panel lifts with one hand. Close it against the rails and it locks itself. Extang says the ALX latch is unique among tri-fold covers, which usually use tailgate clamps.
- Low Profile, Flush With the Rails: The Endure ALX sits flush with the bed rails for a clean, low line, in a textured matte-black finish that blends with factory bed caps and is easy to wipe down.
- EnduraShield Folding Panels: Four 1/2" EnduraShield TPO panels, each on its own aluminum frame, resist dents, scratches and sun fading. Extang rates the closed cover at 500 lb, spread evenly.
- Two-Thirds or the Whole Bed: Fold it toward the cab and buckle both straps for about two thirds of the bed, or stand it upright behind the cab on its built-in prop rods when you need the full bed.
- Clamps On, No Drilling: On most trucks the side rails clamp to the bed rails with the included clamps and ordinary hand tools; Extang puts the job at under an hour. A few trucks use bolt-in brackets instead, shown on that truck's page.
- Extruded Weather Seals: Extruded seals along the sides and at the seams keep rain and road spray off your cargo. Like any folding cover it is weather-resistant rather than watertight.
Description & Fitment
The Extang Endure ALX is a hard folding tonneau cover for the 6'9" bed of the 2020-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD. Four flush-mounted 1/2" EnduraShield panels give it a low matte-black profile and carry up to 500 lb spread evenly. A rotary handle under the tail panel opens it with one hand, and buckle straps or prop rods hold it for two thirds or all of the bed. Clamp-on side rails mean no drilling, and it is assembled in Michigan with Extang's five-year limited warranty.

How do I measure my bed?
Measure inside the bed floor from the bulkhead to the inside of the closed tailgate. Extang lists this bed as 6'9", about 82.2" long. Truck makers often round their bed names, so compare the measurement, not the name.
How is the Endure ALX different from the Solid Fold ALX?
Both use Extang's one-hand rotary latch. The Endure ALX sits flush with the bed rails, has 1/2" panels rated at 500 lb, and stands upright on prop rods for full bed access. The Solid Fold ALX has 1" panels rated at 600 lb, clamps to the bed rails at the cab and lifts off for full access.
Will it keep rain and snow out of the bed?
It is built to. Extruded seals run along the sides and at every seam, and drain hoses carry water out of the bed. Like any folding cover it is weather-resistant rather than watertight. Clear snow and ice off before you open it; Extang's warranty requires that.
Can I drive with it open?
Yes, two ways: folded toward the cab with both buckle straps fastened, or stood upright behind the cab on both prop rods. Never drive with it partly open.
How much weight can it hold?
500 lb, spread evenly across the closed cover. That is Extang's rating. Keep cargo inside the bed from touching the panels.

Here's the short version. Follow Extang's install sheet (below) for your truck's exact hardware, clamp positions and torque settings.
- Seal the bulkhead. If the truck has no bedliner, clean the top of the bulkhead with soap and water, then isopropyl alcohol, let it dry and press the bulkhead seal on along its leading edge. With a bedliner, skip the seal; you may need to trim the liner in the bulkhead corners so the rails fit.
- Clamp on the side rails. Set the passenger rail on the bed rail, slotted bracket toward the cab and facing in, pressed to the bulkhead, and check its end clears the tailgate. Put the middle clamp in the center with its teeth in the rail slots, the front clamp as far forward and the rear clamp as far back as they go, then tighten middle, front and rear while pushing the rail down so it sits flush. Repeat on the driver side.
- Fit the strap buckles. Peel the liner off each gasket and stick it under a buckle end, then fix the two buckles in the pre-drilled holes of the cab panel: threaded inserts from below, screws from above, hand-tight only.
- Set the cover on the rails. With a helper, lower the folded cover into place, cab panel forward. Fold the cab panel back, drop two mounting bolts through the keyed slots on each side so they line up with the rails' slotted brackets, and fit a metal washer and nylon lock nut under each bracket, snug for now.
- Unfold, center and latch. Unfold the cover toward the tailgate: the aluminum frame should sit just inside the tailgate (within 1/4") with the rear edge and seal resting on top of it. Shift it side to side until the latches on both sides catch the rails equally; if a tail latch misses, slide its latch assembly over and retighten by hand.
- Drains and bumpers. Push the drain hoses onto the front drains and run them out through the bed plugs (pull the plug or drill a 7/8" hole in it). Clean the spots under the cab panel, then stick on the cab bumpers so the cover can't touch the cab, the outer ones at least 1" in from the panel edge. Re-tighten every clamp after the first week of driving.

Extang covers the Endure ALX against defects in materials and workmanship for five years from the date of purchase.- What's covered: the tonneau rails, aluminum components, clamps, bows and hardware.
- A defective cover or part is repaired or replaced, at Extang's choice; Extang may substitute or offer a warranty discount on a full replacement system, for example when a product is discontinued.
- For the original purchaser only, not transferable. Register the cover with Extang, or keep a detailed, dated receipt; contact us for registration help.

Looks great. The only downside is that it didn't have installation instructions for a 2025 Toyota Tacoma. I did look at your installation guide, but it was for a Doge pickup. So I looked at the pictures of the product on the Tacoma and was able to figure it out. It took me less than an hour.

Love the product, but…
Really like the cover, installation was quick and easy. Quality control was a little lacking though. When I unboxed the cover, it was covered with metal shavings left over from manufacturing. I mean in every crack and crevice. Had to cut the instructions out from under the hinge it was screwed under. The left rear latch was inoperative. When I took the cover off to see why, I found the collar that crimps the cable to the latch was never crimped. Fortunately, I was able to fix that myself. One of the tracks was missing an end cap. I called support and they are sending me the nut art. The support process was also quick and easy. Overall I am very happy with my purchase. But QC made 5 stars a near miss

Some issues
Installation was super easy. Product came covered in metal shavings, some of which punctured the seals at the folds. This could have been taken care of at the factory with an air compressor before packaging. Also, the screws that hold the panel clips in place are very undersized. One of the retention clips has already needed repair. Fortunately this was easy to do with larger diameter sheet metal screws. Still, for the price, I'd expected a better experience.

The delivery date was long from time of order. Actually went on sale before I received mine. Still paid full price. Does not work well with gooseneck trailers. Has to be folded all the way up using rod supports which make it flimsy. Blocks the truck camera for hooking to gooseneck trailer in upright or even folded back twice. Would have went another route if I would have realized issue.

Packaging was terrible, box was crushed, torn. There were no rubber washes for the 4 bolts, made my own. Fit is not good for this price, when latching last panel towards tailgate, it hits tight on one side, have to hit it with hand to latch, spent some time aligning but could not get it perfect, and this vehicle was owned by me from new and never any damage which I would understand fitment issues if there was ever any damage or repairs done. Rubber seal on each corner towards cab has a pretty good gap. One of the panels has a dent on the inside.

I am very pleased with the ALX Tonneau cover. It looks great on the truck and works as advertised. I did have to watch a video for a similar cover for the installation. The video on the link showed installation on a different brand of truck. Mine had custom brackets for the Ridgeline. Once I figured out the brackets installation was pretty easy. So far, so good!
I’ve had the Extang Full Tilt on every truck I’ve owned. I searched everywhere to find one for my current truck as they had been discontinued. Recently installed the Builtright bed panels and wanted something more secure. I really like that the Endure uses the twist lock rather than a pull wire. Very easy to install, looks great, and so far the bed has stayed bone dry. Pricey though, when I was used to paying less than half for the Full Tilt. Price of those increased dramatically before it was discontinued though too.

I like the rotary latch and low profile, but the back end doesn’t seal tight enough when latched. There is still a little up and down movement that is not adjustable. After a couple time of adjusting, I still have minor leaks in the front corners and the rear corners leak a little more which seems to be from the back end moving up and down when latched. They should also provide some weather stripping for the vertical gaps of the tailgate. I hoped the newer and more expensive design wouldn’t leak the others I researched, but I should have gone with the cheaper option.

Easy Install, Looks great!
Very solid cover I can walk on it no problem and took less than an hour to assemble, instructions are very simple and clear. The twist cable mechanism is very secure and easy to disengage and the cover sits flush. I’m a huge fan of the textured slats, finish appears quite durable , and looks nice on top of it all. It comes with extra weather seals and foam bumpers to stop it from hitting the cab by accident when folding up.

Easy installation
First time installing one of these. Was super easy took about an hour. One thing I screwed up was the drain tube. I stuck it in one of the holes in the side of the bed of the truck. Seemed to need some trimming. I trimmed then I stuck in the hole and it didn’t feel right. So I stuck my finger in it and it turned out to be a boxed out metal tube or something that didn’t have any weep holes. Now I need to order another tube. Oh well, my bad, should have fingered it first. Over all the cover looks great and I’m very happy.

Great Tonneau
Installation was a snap, fits great, and looks amazing. Was torn between this and the Bakflip MX4. A couple things that made me pick this over the BakFlip. The twist latch to unlock is more theft resistant, when fully opened it does not rest against the cab of the truck, and it Extang is manufactured local to me. Have not had it on very long but have noticed a little bit of water in the bed. Will be looking at adding a tailgate seal. Have always used soft roll up covers and this is a huge upgrade.

Cover needs refinement
I installed this on a 2024 Honda Ridgeline. I have used extang hard covers on my previous Ridgelines. The biggest issues I found was the addendum did not address properly about installing the seal on the bulkhead. I discovered that it is better to omit the seal, since the piece that covers the bulkhead has its own rubber seals and if the seal is installed, it causes the header to stick up and have other sealing issues. Another issue that I ran into was that the rear panel did not want to latch down. There is too much “bumper” foam that makes contact with the rear corner of the be and does not compress enough to latch. I had to cut some of the foam out to remedy the issue. I also discovered that the latches were not installed right and had too much slack in the cables to permit proper latch release operation. I had to reposition the latches and latch mechanism to fix this, which…

Great option for a Jeep Gladiator
Delivery was very quick with no damage to the cover. If you take the time to read the instructions (general instructions + supplement for Gladiator) the job is fun and relatively easy (I had no help so had to be careful and concentrated). Heavy duty cover in my opinion. Appears durable. Quality appears to be top notch. Easy to install on a new Super Duty. Finish on the cover is textured. Sheen is somewhere in between matte and satin. Sits flush to the bed except for the rubber perimeter trim, which sits about a 1/8 inch on top of the side rails, but you don't notice that unless you are up close. I haven't seen to many competitor covers, but I am very pleased with this cover. Heavy rain last night and not a drop could be found in the bed. Pleasantly surprised.

Fairly Easy Install & Good Quality
everything is too expensive, but this seems to be decent for the price. install was straight forward. functions well so far. There is only a release for the back section on the drivers side. lots of aluminum shavings on the cover when I unpacked it. had to drill out the hole for the plastic buckle as it didn't line up properly.

Easy install. Thought it’d be more water tight
Install was very easy after watching install video. Looks great after install. Downfall is that I hoped it would be more water tight than my previous soft top tri-fold.

Westbrook Purchase
The delivery took much too long missing the date I needed it by about a week. The package did not include instructions and when I scanned the bar code thingy it did not load up the instructions without a part number. It took a little while to figure out which number to use. The support brackets are flemsy compared to another make on a friend of mines truck-same price range. Time will tell.

Extang Duo Cover
Cover looks great but does have minor gaps at corners. It can be remedied by adding some foam tape to seal the small spaces. So far the cover works pretty good except the rear latch system is having minor problems at this point but I am working with Extang to resolve this.

Looks amazing! Water intrusion is excessive.
I recently installed the Extang Endure ALX hard folding tonneau cover, and it fit perfectly on my 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ. The sleek, low-profile design is certainly a high-end look as far as bed covers go. Installation was straightforward, and the cover material is solid and seemingly good quality. I had high hopes for this bed cover, as it really does look amazing. That said, for the price, I expected this cover to offer solid protection, especially from water. Unfortunately, after washing my truck for the first time with the cover on, I noticed a significant amount of water intrusion into the bed. All 4 corners leaked as well as along the side rails and even at the folds. For a cover at this price point, I expected far better water resistance. I understand that no hard folding cover is 100% waterproof, but this felt excessive—especially since one of my reasons for buying it…

My first week with this cover
The cover is exactly what I was looking for in form, fit and function. Quality of materials, instructions and look are great. My only beef is quality of manufacture and atte tion to detail. First real test of cover was on a recent trip were I noticed the front portion of the cover was lifting. Discovered key rivits were never installed on 1st locking latch near cab. Was able to disassemble and install 4 pop rivets. Now cover performs as well as it looks.

Not bad, leaky as installed.
Install was really easy. It does leak pretty bad at the front and of course tailgate. Most of the water in the channels empties at the rear, not in the tubes. I’ve added a tailgate seal kit and a little silicone in the front corners. So far the silicone in the front appears to work. As long as you’re going uphill it’s fine. Thinking about adding to rear channels to keep from dumping into bed. Would be nice to have access knobs on passenger side. Looks great! Operates as expected.
